I appreciate this review. I do all my own work on my bike, and while I don't want to damage anything, I've relied on allen keys up to this point and have never had a problem. So using a torque wrench, any torque wrench, would surely be an improvement. And not wanting to break the bank, I think I'll stop by the local Harbor Freight and pick up one of those Pittsburgh Pros. Thanks for your time!

Great review, i purchased the gf pro 2yrs ago and has served me well. For that price i treat it like gold and never leave it set above minimum setting when not in use. Thankyou.

That is indeed a premium-feeling torque tool, but you might want to brace yourself for this tale I'm about to tell.
There was one time in a shop I used to work in, they got a new torque wrench as they needed a second 1/4-inch torque wrench given how many of us are at work in the workshop at any one time, so we don't really want to be waiting for one person to be done with that one lone torque wrench when it comes time to torque down our stuff. That was no longer a problem for me since I already have my own as I've always wanted my own torque tools. However, things went south for this shop's second torque wrench.
Only a few months in, when I tried this torque wrench out one day, I was disturbed to see it's overtorquing beyond 4%. This is because my ex-colleagues never reset it to its lowest setting whenever it's not in use, so the spring inside is constantly loaded at a higher tension than it's supposed to be. Mine is already more than three years old and is still in-spec to this day since I always reset it to its lowest setting.
This torque wrench they ruined? It's an Effetto Mariposa Giustaforza 2-16.

You should publish the outliers in the accuracy test results, I'm less interested in average accuracy than I am in how much deviation I risk when I actually use it.
If at 5nm setting there's an average of 5nm exactly that's still really bad if some of the clicks come at 3nm and some at 7nm.
Also would be fun to see a cheap deflecting beam wrench in the test, they can be had for under $10 and I'd guess they're a good option for people who don't use it much and don't wanna pay for the premium ones.

I got the park tool one yesterday and while its nice for what it is, i do wish it had a more precise way to change torque and i wish it made a audible click for its setting rather than just bend to the side silently. However it works well for my bike, and feels like itll last long.

hell yea. i love project farm and his format but most of it isnt relevant to bikes. this is exactly what i want when dropping $100+ on a tool even as a tool nerd

Won't the recommendation for holding the Feedback down at the end sometimes result in inadvertently changing the torque setting?

It is a pretty stiff dial, but yes, in theory it could.

I wasn't able to get those for this test, but I might look into them if there's interest.
