The answer is yes, you can do whatever you like with your own hair as long as it complements your SMP.
Scalp micropigmentation can work well with most hairstyles. So there isn't a hard and fast rule and it really depends on what your hair looks like, and that's something that's worth coming to a practitioner and seeing what they can do with the style that you currently have or the style you want to have.

Question after SMP your fist session since everyone is different and skin type might be different can the ink do strange things while in the healing of the first 3 weeks for example seems like ink is darker in certain areas than the rest of my head that had work also done I mean not extremely dark but dark you definitely can tell is this normal or something that can happen during first session

My practitioner says that SMP helps with scarring on the scalp as it’s a micro injury to the scalp and helps it “heal” is this true?
I really want to get SMP because I have diffuse thinning. My hair looks good when I wear Toppik, but it looks very thin and sparse without Toppik. If I had SMP, I might not not need to use Toppik anymore because I'd have more scalp coverage. My hair is short, maybe 1/2" or 1/4". I tried maintaining a guard zero haircut for a few months, but I really disliked it. It was painful, caused bleeding and was not worth the effort. I look so much younger and better when I have hair because I don't have a good head shape. My best look is to let my hair grow a little and use Toppik. I think it would look even better with SMP.
I use topix too and it looks great but the upkeep and process putting it on is a pain. Would rather get SMP and be done with hair fibers but not sure it that's a great option. I'm about a Norwood 5
If you are a Norwood 5, then I don't think SMP would be a good option unless you plan to shave your head frequently. You might want to think about hair transplants. Mr. Rolandas was a Norwood 5, and now his hair looks great because of his transplants and treatments. You should watch his RUclips channel.

But when when hair goes white for the age?
Awesome question! So, at the root, hair follicles don't really turn white. If you shave your head with white hair, the follicles still appear to have color. The important thing is to match the follicle, so that if the hair does changed color, the hair still looks full and dense. :)
If your hair turns turns white, u do white pigmentation then..
is it possible to have a hair transplant after the smp ?
Absolutely! FUE is probably best, and FUT would leave a big scar.
Most people do FUE and then later, if the density is lacking, then SMP.
Ideally though, your FUE goes really well and you don't need SMP! :)
Can diabetics opt for smp?
What does diabetes have to do with SMP ? Of course they can
I always wondered why dont people who have little to work with regarding hair transplant just get whatever remaining hair they have on the back and sides and transplant to top of the head and then get smp for the back and sides, at least that way the grow out will only be on the top of your head and will always look like a cool haircut than having smp on top of the head and back and sides grow out.. it will always looks stupid and fake!

Thats the perfect way to do it let them get as many graphs it may leave the donar depleted but the SMP will fill it in
Here’s a tip, research no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.
No it did not answer the root cause (pun intended and stressed) from a scientific technical perspective ie will the pigments or punctures interfere with the pores and what’s underneath the pores causing obstructions, of what would otherwise be able to grow and or will it interfere with hair transplants (from a medical standpoint) later on if one was to want transplant later on.

SmP in the sun just looks like a dark shiny head....You need some hair to stop the reflection of the sun off the top of your head
