Communial living in Fiji. Farm together, eat together, laugh together. It's good to see that the village live the value of looking out for the Orphans/ Widows and Widowers. 💪👍🏻
Was going to say that we Fijians were all brought up with charity thus relating to always prioritizing the man of the cloth, the widows, orphans and the elderly. Malo Uraia for the enlightenment and the laughter
Uraia, definitely Josese is my fav cousin. Not only does he have a good sense of humour, but he can grind! And, he thinks not only of himself, he’s thinking about blessing others. May your dreams come true, till next time, take care & God bless.
amazing view into the Fijian culture, while the rest of the world compares people to the capitalistic way of thinking it is amazing to find a people that have the (perfect) correct and balanced way of how life should be lived , from your respect towards one another , to the healthiest diet, to the community orientated lifestyle , to the balanced healthy way to farm! .........you guys have left me amazed , respect to all of you , in all of my years this is the first time that i have seen a people that really understand and live life the way life should be lived , i feel that some day you may move on to a life you once knew so in the mean time please share as much of your amazing people , thank you as always for sharing ,
Love it !! Hard working handsome young Fijian men cleaning and preparing the landscape for the Men to plant the yams for the village. The Men are so humble. Even during prayer time. Always giving the Lord thanks for all his blessings. And to the beautiful women of the village who prepare all the meals for all of the Men and young men who worked very hard in the fields. I love their life. So simple, and very humbling. To all you young men , learn all you can. And don't let the city life in the main city, spoil all of the knowledge and wisdom you have aquired, right there at home in your village. You are all so respectful of your elders as we are. We are all connected in Christ. Aloha Ke Akua from the big island of Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
Just started viewing your videos and it’s interesting how most of the farming is similar to our culture, I’m Samoan. Grew up in the village of Manu’a Islands my dad was a man of working hard to provide for his family and his parents and so farming is one of them. Now, yam or ‘ufi is what we call it is one of the longest to harvest. I remember my dad would grow one at the plantation and next to our house. So the way we grow is my dad prefer it maybe close to a breadfruit tree or a high tree because of the vines. That’s his preference so that when the vines of the yam grow it’ll have more height and freely instead of the ground. We dig a hole deeper I would say about 3-4ft but also wider because we grow more than 1 in it. After we gather rocks and surround the ground to mark it. So that same spot we dumped like spoiled food or leftovers kinda like a compost to create fertilizer. Really love ur vlogs and even though I don’t understand the language but a couple words sounds the same. Fiji is on my bucket list of places to visit, not the main town the villages because that’s where the authentic cuisine comes from, the locals. Gid bless your channel and looking forward for more, soifua.
Bula and yes alot of similarities. I hope the boys and i Can visit other pacific nations like Samoa and see How they do it and also learn from eachother. Thanks for watching 😊

Interesting the techniques of planting yams. I think maybe the deeper they dig when planting, the bigger and longer the yams grow / develop when approaching it’s maturity time. Would love to see it when harvest time is ready. 👍👍👏👏 Admire this fine young men farming with much passion. 👍👍💙💙💯 Vinaka, Turaga Naitas. 👏👏 Watching from California, USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸 Love watching your videos and all the trips , good memories with your cuzzies and bros. 👍👍💙💙
Good job fellas love the community spirit in Navuti its awesome to see 👍 Uraia you should mount your camera on a coconut tree facing down and let it record for you you so you can concentrate on perfecting your weeding techniques 🤓🙂😁 the snake cry though 😁😂

Isa, i could almost smell the Fijian fresh cut bush and exposed soil while watching you guys. By the way, i always use a bush made hook out of maybe a small quwawa branch when clearing a bush like you guys did. Also, your i sele kavas looks exactly like the one i bought @ Peter Fongo when i was last in Suva. What variety of uvi/yams have you guys planted ? We used to plant a lot of the kawai variety back in the day that we ate all year round, although i have not eaten kawai for years and years. Now living abroad, i would have to wait for winter time in order buy yams at Asian green grocers as they mostly use them for soups. Fiji, with its large fertile land mass, could become a major exporter of uvi amongst other produce, to the ever growing Fijian and Pacifica diaspora abroad. So Uraia, knowing that historically your Lomaiviti relatives are very entrepreneurial, they should look into exporting their uvi oseas as well. Most of us Fijians abroad are always keen to support any produce that comes from home and because we're starved of uvi and especially knowing that it comes directly from villages. Great vlog and loved all the typical Fijian repartee, really made me feel like i was right there with you guys. Vinaka sara va levu and moce mada.
