Not every gardener wants to use chemicals on their lawn and those with allergies, pets or children may prefer to remove deep-rooted weeds with a manual tool such as this.
Many of the longer upright weed pullers are prone to breaking if used in compacted soil or if they hit a rock or stone.
You won't have any problems at all with this manual weed puller.
For best results, use when the ground is damp, ideally, after a good bout of rain. First, loosen the soil around the taproot at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, you'll then find it much easier to lift the weed and you can achieve a 100% success rate if you're careful.

Thank you for sharing your tips ..
I had to search to get a demonstration of this simple tool because most of the demonstrations are with a much more complex tool and probably more expensive. You did a superb job. I went out to do this without any instruction and just naturally started to dig around the root. I was not successful because I was not fortunate enough to find your video in time. So my taproots broke off. This will give me lots of practice in the future, won't it? Thank you again for the superb instruction for this simple tool. I have one similar to yours and one with a long handle. Suitable for one who is aging. Although I've only 74 and a half
I use mine to lever mussels off the rocks. Quick and easy and avoids damaging the surrounding mussels.
That would take a month to do my yard
Been working on ours for over two years, because the renters across the street seem to be cultivating them. This is one of the more useless videos on RUclips.
Just checking in a month later to see if it worked. My yard is the same.
@@lancer525well, you could AT LEAST address WHY and provide SOLUTIIN instead of just biatching...geez
Thanks, really useful to see how to use it properly 👍
I found on of these in the long grass but no idea how to use it till I saw your video! Thanks so much. Annoying not to know what a tòol is for.
Just found ur channel, love the content bro!!! Keep up the good work. I will definitely have gardening questions for ya, haha 😂😅🎉🎉
Today is March 20 and spring was only yesterday. I won't be buying my choice of hand-held weed pullers until April, but since April showers bring May flowers, nice showers should come along to soften the earth and make weed-pulling a bit easier.
Thanks a lot ....excellent
Guys don't throw away the dandelions, use them and eat them. The entire plant is edible, from the flowers to the leaves to the roots. Some of the things you can do is to make tea with them, fry them, or put them in salads. You can even make wine using dandelion flowers as flavor.
No. They are for bugs to collect pollen. They are full of antinutriens and oxalate. Don't eat them.
No
@@Nat-O fair enough
One version of the tool has a longer shaft and handle for working standing up. It should be for sale in any hardware store.
Wonderful
There has to be a better and quicker way Dan. Nice digging too. v
Do you cover the uprooted area with a sand & seed mix, so another weed doesn’t come in?
i have thousands of the evil little suckers. i would kill myself from overwork before i got success with that.
You didn’t pull a dandelion out
