Huge monster beaver are caught today on the first check of the Wisconsin southern zone spring beaver trap line! Beaver trapping is not for the weak... you do need a strong back and tons of ambition and today we start on the first check and pile up some great beaver at the annual....

One would think I would be jealous of the huge beavers, beautiful weather and awesome trapping spots. Yet...all I could think of while enjoying tagging along with you all this morning was. It would sure be nice to be able to move like that again. Enjoy being young and take every opportunity thrown your way because being old sucks. That trail cam footage was great. I was trying to lower water level where they had dammed up covering a road 5 foot deep. Moonlight night, one beaver after another plugging up the hole while i was working on tearing out trying to get it low enough to cross.

I got three in excess of 80 lbs this last spring , all weighed by legal scales, 84 lbs is still my largest one yet

Beaver over 50 pounds are big over 60 huge over 70 monsters and over 80 rare and are blue whales!

Yes , I agree, I believe the reason I catch these .monsters is because a major river courses through three provinces, and picks up some that have lived long lives free of predation take note these have mainly been females
