    That was a beautiful wolf! Nice looking fur on him. I just pulled my 90 lb male wolf off the stretcher and took it into F+G for the tag and brought the skull in for pulling the tooth. I use the Seneker springs too with good luck, along with the cam lock and a 750lb break away. The pack left for a while but are back again, looks like 5 or 6. Nice work way to go! Saved a bunch of moose, elk, deer etc.

    Fine trapping, I'm was hooked at once. Thanks for the spring on the snare, without it would be a awfully slow death. Cougars are heavy for their size, only one point I knew before. My state of Germany a fly of the maps, has between 6000 and 6500 wolves (1994 0)strictly backed by law and whole Sweden 340. Can you believe this madness? In your work I feel your love for nature and wilderness, with harvesting the creatures and respect them, that's relaxing for me on a top notch. You're going your own tempo, I myself do it too. You're looking a little bit like me, but I could be your dad. God's Blessings from Northern Germany Ludwig. You're baptized Nathanael? Or Nathan? Just asking..

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  9 месяцев назад

      I have a video that shows how I build them, typical modern snare but I don't use the trigger is the only difference, everyone has their preference in cable size but all I can say is, never cheap out on any components, if your cable has a pigtail when taking off the spool, I 'wouldn't use it, not all cables are created equal and cheap cable will break way easier, same for the components. Hope this helps!

    Good evening I was just watching your video on how you make your wolf snares and it was excellent. That's how I will be making mine.. one question how long do you boil them for, after you make them, in the baking soda?

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  9 месяцев назад

      I'd say about an hour, along with spruce branches and some tree bark, once dried I put them in a tote layered with spruce branches until used, but make sure they are dried or you will gat condensation in your tote. One thing I can emphasize enough is to use good quality components and ensure you have a good crimp, not all swagers give a good crimp. Can't go wrong with the good old hammer and anvil.

      It's a nice sled, basically identical to a Tundra but way more stable, it's actually my wife's sled, I will be going back to a Skandic, would have already but with the lack of snow it's not very tempting right now. The box was a quick job just to have something, I never did take a video, I'll try and include some details on it eventually. Had to build it so the 2-up seat would still fit. Thanks!

    I probably would have walked right past that wolf covered by snow. It's a shame F&W doesn't let you keep the cougar. What do they do with them? I don't understand why they don't just have you bring them in and register the catch and then let you keep it. It sucks that RUclips doesn't allow you to show the skinning process. I enjoy seeing how that's done by different trappers. Thanks for sharing this adventure.

    • @whatido3021
      @whatido3021  10 месяцев назад

      Not really, it was in the past but they finally realized there's a lot of Cougars around. I find it funny how they say that one shouldn't be setting snares within 200 yards from a bait site to avoid catching Cougars, I never knew they flew into the bait!! Funny how they think!
