  • Customs officials in Kebbi State intercepted a significant cache of explosives destined for the region.
The joint border patrol team, operating on intelligence-based surveillance, halted a canter vehicle carrying 6,250 sacks of dynamite along the Yauri-Jega road. The driver, Abdullahi Aliyu, was arrested, along with other individuals linked to the transportation.
Upon confirming the nature of the cargo, authorities decided to transfer the explosives to the Department of State Services (DSS) due to safety concerns.
This transfer was facilitated by collaboration between agencies, highlighting the importance of interagency cooperation in maintaining security.
Representatives from both customs and DSS formally exchanged custody of the explosives, emphasizing the directive from the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs to ensure their safe handling.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts to combat illicit activities and protect communities from potential harm.
