Trevor's story of shaking it up with the love of Jesus is HILARIOUS! No matter how many times I hear it it's still funny. D.L. Hughley was really funny too! The fire story is gold
Can someone tell me what the nuance significance of Trevor's response to the redneck asshole, was? Was it that he didn't get the satisfaction of upsetting Trevor? I think the best part is that Trevor is so pure & wholesome, and the soul of someone like that dude is so obviously empty, unhappy, and is something to so thoroughly be despised & pitied --- at the end of the day Trevor knows he's won at life & that guy is just a shallow hollow excuse for living. That one word can't take from Trevor who he is or what he's worth or make anyone think less of him --- it makes millions think less of the pathetic person who said it.
I was unsure if I missed a bit of the nuance of the story... but maybe I didn't... Idk...
But I know Trevor is one of the people I respect & admire most in the whole world and I hope I can be like him. And I am a white mother under 35, and I think that's the world my generation is building, and in that sense Trevor is my brother and my ally, and that's the kind of world we should all be trying to bring into being.
Trevor, I just want to say that, I hope to God that I will always see all colors, because they are all beautiful and wondrous, and I'd be so damned, if I couldn't witness their wonder & vibrance & all that they give to the world! Be that the rich colors of peoples' skin, or of their minds, or their souls, every difference is a gift, and I hope I never do wrong by anyone's differences, no matter what form those differences take.
Your light is like a city on a hill, Trevor. Thank you for being all that you are, and indeed the world owes your mother so so much.

This applies to immigrant parents who didn't have money for babysitters too. Most of the time I had at least 2 or 3 hours unsupervised after school before one of my parents got home from work, but because I was the oldest child I had to look after my four siblings.

I can relate to DL. We wouldn’t let my grandma in the house bc my mom said to not let anyone in her house after she worked all weekend and was sleep. Sooooo that’s what we did we sat in the living room while grandma knocked on the door lol. Bc if she would’ve woke up to someone knocking on her door or in her house she would flip a switch !
