    High energy ignition, also known as H.E.I., is an electronic ignition system designed by the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors. It was used on all GM vehicles, at least in the North American market, from 1975 through the mid-1980s.

    Attempted Auto the main thing is your getting the car back on the road !! You could always put a better V8 engine in it later on if you want 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪

    I owned a customised '70 Nova around 50 years ago which had a stock 307 motor that would fail to start every time that it rained because of condensation occurring inside the distributor cap. So,each time it rained,I had to remove the distributir cap, wioe it dry, replace it then only being able to start the car,but for the look of the new paint job, the raised white letter tires, tte wide Mickey Thompson tires n the back, the Cragar mags on the front, the deep dish reverse chrome wheels with baby moon hubcaps on the back, the Hi Jacker air shocks and the Laker sidepipes then I just couldnt bear to give up the car 😂 At the same time, I was still too mechanically nieve to work out the issue with the distributor cap condensation problem because the cap was always sealed properly and i could never see a xpcrack in it.

    Those 305s atleast the older ones and dont hey me wrong id rather a 307 but they had some kick to them biggest thing is to get that stock cam outta there and deck the heads atleast but prefer to do both block and heads. Even if that is all you can do put the best piston you can afford (domed or atleast a flat top) and a quick bead hone and you will have no problem keeping up with most anything of the era in stock form

    Wow. I have never seen a hatchback nova before. That has to be a rare car. Even though it's in awful condition I guess it's still worth fixing up.

      Sorry Bill and I fell short of a SEMA level car on a working mans budget and 5 days. We were worried about what you might have thought of our effort. 🙄 Good news though, I love this car and will keep on working on it until it meets MY standards. Hope you keep watching. Im looking forward to your negative comments! When i get a chance, ill check out your channel for its no doubt awesome content! Cheers!

    That's awesome, if not for you it would of never been on the road again. You get the wiring straight and a good powerwash it will be good. I can't believe how solid it is too.

      @CallMeGrandpa87 Hello yes it's a pretty cool car , i just think people back in the day Didn't know about rust proofing the cars and trucks that well , and also the salt that's use on the roads Doesn't help either !!!

    • @GrandpasRoadhouse
      @GrandpasRoadhouse 8 месяцев назад

      @@erictate8986 Mine was in an accident long before I owned it so the hatch never quite lined up correctly and leaked like crazy. The front windshield leaked too so between that and the road salt in NJ, it rotted badly. If I had the money, I'd offer to buy this one because it's in such good shape.

      In my next video, im going to try to see if i can get this horrible 305 to do a proper burnout. I think i mentioned that at the end of this video. Turns out running rich and on 7 cylinders makes an unspectacular burnout... Who knew. Thanks for watching.
