    I love the clip of the woman saying her bloating made her happy. That progress is just like cup of hot chocolate on a cold evening - it warms my soul.☕️☺️
    When people say, "You can't TRULY recover, you'll always be in recovery", I wanna throw fists. Yes, some of us are genetically predisposed to developing EDs but reducing a recovered person to a perpetually recovering one, is like treating a pre-ED person as though there's no escaping their fate. We would never do that; never would we tell a kid that we did a brain scan and know they are at risk of becoming eating disordered. Why? Because, chances are, we've increased the likelihood of that coming to fruition 10-fold by heightening their awareness around the subject and made them feel like we are expecting them to be sick. And, we know how pernicious these things are. If they develop, they will cling to that bit of science and use it as a shield between some poor victim and their recovery.
    I bump into this rhetoric all the time and it just sounds like "this disorder is an inevitability so don't ever expect sanity or freedom around food, anticipate anxiety at the table and don't start wanting more for yourself because you can't fight your own biology". It pushes potentially willing fighters away. Noone lights up at the thought of such a grim future.
    When dealing with ppl who have approached their health and bodies with hatred, abuse and pessimism (for, perhaps, years!), the way to support them is NOT to essentially advise them to not hope too much. Livability will do.
    No, that's bs.
    I want all whom have faced EDs to be *excited* for the day they're laughing in a restaurant with loved ones and realising they've freed themselves.
    I'd honestly, love a video on this topic of You'll Always Be In Recovery. I'm clearly very passionate about this but I don't have a platform and you communicate with so much understanding and tough love. Maybe you don't agree and that's ok, but I don't see this addressed enough and even if ppl don't mean harm in spreading this message,I believe it does harm all the same 🙁💕

      I 1000000% agree with you!!! I think a video would definitely be good, I'll get on that! I am fully fully recovered and do not ever have weird thoughts about food or body anymore so I am living proof that it's possible. My mother had an ED for years when she was younger as well and I was honestly shocked when I was in my 20's and learned about her past because to me my mom has always had such a great relationship with food. So she obviously fully recovered as well.

    I get it we should not do high intensity workout but can we do slow mat pilates? And can we walk? Like only for total 2 hours a day?

    Do these tips apply to women (like me) who did get their period back but have extremely long und irregular cycles ? Thank you !

    • @flowwithchlo
      @flowwithchlo  Год назад +1

      That is a fantastic question! Ya, so until those cycles are within the 35 day period we want to be focusing on nourishing our body well and staying off of exercise. The important part about the menstrual cycle is ovulation and often times when cycles are irregular ovulation isn't happening .Sounds like there is still some healing to go!

    I remember watching a video from freelee the banana girl where she was talking about how she didn't get her period and she was glad about it and it was toxic, was that comment in the vegan community that the menstrual cycle was considered toxic? I know for me growing up menstration was seen as something gross dirty and sinful and punishment so when I lost my period all the more reason I didn't want to give get it back for those reasons, I worry for the young girls that were raised the same they won't want their menstruation back if they were told it was something bad but the world has changed so much hopefully those horrible old-fashioned ignorant beliefs are gone

      OMG I am pretty sure I've seen the same one. Absolutely ridiculous that she would see the menstrual cycle as something that is toxic... like how are you, I, and even HER here???... it's cause our moms had a period haha.

      Hi darling! I know its easy to compare (i do it all the time) but it's really best for you to stay focused on what's gonna make YOUR body feel safe and well nourished. This journey is not just about gaining weight, it's about having a more call demeanor around food and being well nourished. You can weight but still be malnourished because restriction is happening. So focus on consistency with your food and making sure you are eating enough. Let go of the control over your body for a moment and let it do its thing so that it can heal!
