I know people were upset about Riley….but this is the dude for our program. This is what OU needs at this point in time to get over the hump. Give him a few years and good things will happen.
Strong interview Dean. Great replies and vision by Head Coach Venables. Saying "Head Coach Venables" seems like something I should've said many years ago. Thank you Joe Castiglione for making the right hire.
This man makes me proud to be a fan of OU football. This may bother some, but I would rather have this man as our head coach and lose a few each year than have a coach who won every single game and didn't inspire his players to be better people. I really really like this guy 👍🏻
I 100% agree though I wouldn't mind a few losing seasons to get our culture back up no more kids who only care about themselves or thugs doing stupid stuff like burglary/robery but to get more kids like caleb Kelly, pat fields, kids younger ou fans can look up to.... though I don't think we will have a couple losing seasons maybe not playoff seasons but probably around what we have been doing last 2 years 10 or 9 wins... but I also think theirs a chance it doesn't take BV to get things turned around
@@SNERFAN, you are living in a fantasy world! Sooners haven't won a national championship since 2000. When Bob Stoops won the natty with John Blake's recruits. There is a reason OU doesn't get the best athletes anymore and it's probably because of the conservative culture that's associated with the program now.
I know he didn't start his career at OU and has had tremendous success at, and has shown amazing loyalty to, Clemson, but when you look at his values, and the values that Oklahomans care about, I think it's very appropriate to say WELCOME HOME COACH.

Finally an interview that isn't just a bunch of coach speak. LR was notorious for that. His press conferences were so boring. You knew what he was gonna say. It got old real quick this year.
It was like he was on Auto Pilot damn near all season. Mule Shoe checked out in late September to Mid October. His reps talked with USC for a solid month or more putting that whole deal together. He was leaving regardless, in my opinion.
He's not as much a smooth talker like a pastor but in his first introductory speech I thought to myself this guy could be a pastor the way he talks if he wasn't a football coach and not meant in a bad way just its no wonder he is a great recruiter just the way he speaks you know why recruits and their families are drawn to him

Honestly, I feel like LR had been talking to USC for quite some time as his coaching has proven this year. There was no reason for OU to squeak by teams that we had trampled in years past. I feel like LR had lost his love for OU, as his actions have spoken, which are louder than words. Brent, welcome home to you and your family. OU fans are proud to have you back!
