Excellent stuff John👌👍! This is why "Scale Car Garage" is my absolute favorite slot car channel. I'm already looking forward to the continuation of this project. Which manufacturer makes this great model John?, it's a nice piece of scenery too😊.
Thanks so much! This model was manufactured by a company called Signature which has an entire line of lovely 1/32 scale diecast vehicles! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this episode! Thank you so very much for your most valued support it really means a lot!
Great video john. Very interested to see the steps it takes to complete this project. I have always been interested in doing something like this. I have watched a number of your videos and enjoy them immensely. I am a big fan. Keep the videos coming. Good health to you and you family.
Thanks so much! I'm so pleased that you are interested in this project! I'm working on the next installment! Thanks so much for watching, commenting and subscribing, I really appreciate your support!
Taking that truck apart is quite labor intensive. Do you plan to build a brass chassis for it or will you use some resin or plastic pieces? Some department stores, hardware stores, & even Lowes have displays of cast vehicles ranging from cars, trucks & farm equipment. All sell for about $6-$8. The ones I've handled are about 1/32 scale, well detailed, real nicely made, & from the oriental. Your truck reminds me of these displays I've seen.
Yes! I find it amazing how many parts are used to build these wonderful diecast vehicles! I certainly will be building some sort of brass chassis for this truck, but I'm also contemplating creating a mold for a resin chassis that could be used as a slot car or for static display! Thanks so much for all of your continued support, I really appreciate it!
Awesome video John! I am still waiting for a company to make a 1st generation Pontiac Firebird slot car. I have a 1/32 Firebird model kit, so I guess I will have to make my own. I really want to make the red and white Jerry Titus #26 Firebird!
I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this episode! Your Firebird sounds like a great build! I imagine that you are using the static Revell 1/32 scale kit that they also issued as a slot car back in the day! Thanks so much for watching, commenting and subscribing, I really appreciate it!
I'm so pleased that you like this project! It never ceases to amaze me to see how many parts are in these diecast vehicles! Thanks so much for all of your most welcomed support, I really appreciate it!
Hi John, Good to see you back at it. Would you say some of these parts could be cast in resin without such a complete strip of all the component parts? Best Regards Jack
Removing the paint of a diecast really helps to bring the details of the model parts out, especially on the body parts which are metal. These diecasts are just lovely but they are issued with A LOT of paint on them! However some interior parts can be cast without stripping the paint if you really don't want to remove the paint. Sometimes the paint does get 'removed' by the silicone when creating a mold! I hope this helps! Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing, I really appreciate it!
Hi John, I'm sure you know there you are more than one Mfgr who make this and similar vehicles. Many of them are advertised as 1/32 - But are not!!! Being as this is "Scale Car Garage" I'm fairly certain chose one that is better. But unless I missed it, you didn't address this issue??? -- Or list this truck's dimensions?? And you didn't identify the make/brand you acquired? From my experience Kinsmart are too small as well as Jada and New Ray can be problematic. Again Thanks for all you do - Even when you bluther -- LOL!! Best Regards, Jack
What an excellent catch! Yes, I did ensure that this model of a Ford F-100 was indeed 1/32 scale as it was manufactured by 'Signature' and the dimensions are quite accurate! I should have mentioned this and it indeed was an oversight on my part! I hope that I didn't bluther on too much answering your question!! Thanks so much for your most valued support!
