Really impressive boat. I'm curious to know if she could sail unassisted on open waters or is inboard always necessary ? Thanks for any info'.

Perfectly addresses my number one beef about most sailboats. That is that the helm station is completely exposed to the elements. As someone who has spent many a long cold hour soaking wet and shivering wishing for a setup like this. Even when the weather's nice, you can only take so much sun before starting to sizzle.

Yes that's what I'm talking about, all the boats I've been on the cockpits were exposed and I would have loved to have had this boat's enclosed wheelhouse.@@PaulStClair-or3gj

Remember, some sailors who would love a pilothouse (who wouldn't?) are nonetheless unwilling to put up with the loss of windward ability and speed.

This boat is amazing! So many wonderful details to take in when one watches this little film! But at 6’4, I’m sure it’s too tiny for me. O, to be 5’4... This yacht should make any retired jockey very happy. A live aboard’s dream! lol

I balked a bit and lost on a 30 last year owing to the cabin being too tight for my 6'2". I've just taken ownership of a 34 somewhat sight unseen (video only) (and over twice the price damn it) with research stating it's got 6'3". There were others I liked too but for the same headroom issue. Finger's crossed as I'm awaiting delivery shortly.

I still envy you! Even if you have to lower your head a little and keep your top hat in its box when you’re down below... lol The prospect of living aboard has always been a dream of mine. I imagine sailing off to Thailand, like Tristan Jones, and letting the days go by... Ahhh... Congratulations, mate!

@@flyerbluedog Thank you. I have those thoughts too and it might happen but at the same time have to own up to being a bit of a chicken $!'T. But I went for this style for it's stated seaworthiness. I might go in a pack but if it's too slow I might end up sailing solo a day ahead or a day behind. Hey, it's all an adventure!

@@derekec I say go for it. Have everything in double, GPS, VHF, Sat Phone, lap top, ELT... Have top working depth sounder (depth is all over the place in shallow waters after a storm), fire extinguishers (fire is the worst thing to have on a boat, not taking on water, like everyone else thinks), emergency inflatable dingy, water maker (reverse osmosis, obviously, but I’m tempted more and more by distilled lately). Obviously you want solar panels... That’s what I have for you off the top of my head. Do your own research, get ready as you go along the way. For me it would be getting ready as I get out of the St. Lawrence, down along the East Coast of the US, down to Panama, then out in the Pacific to Hawaii, then take it from there... 😉 All the best, mate! Go for it!

@@flyerbluedog Again thanks. My immediate goal after which I'll feel better is just to get the boat from Canada, check it over and get squared away for winter. I haven't even got a berth available thanks to covid staycations. And, to stop the $ bleeding from every angle - brokers, surveyor, temp marina fees, de-rigging, transport prep team, transport, 13%Canada taxes, CC surcharges, duties & customs.....People say importing a boat is easy...no freakin' way in my experience. And still to come local sales tax and re-rigging. So the obstacles are overshadowing the excitement. Even insurance is an issue with 75 mile travel limits. Early thoughts are the East Coast South&North. I'm still 2 years away from real freedom for more than 2-3 weeks at a time but it's nice to know I won't be limited by my ride - the sailboatdata specs on the 34 are absolutely phenomenal.

That has to be the best sorted Fisher of any size that I've ever seen. Just a tad too many things for my tastes, but everything has a clearly defined home so it doesn't look cluttered. Two tellies on a 30 footer! And the booze kept safely in the forward V-berth, away from the roving eyes of marina-creepers. Every bit of woodwork is in super varnished condition - even the wooden grating in the cockpit. Is it actually offered for sale AS-IS with everything you see...?

Why don't modern sailboat builders (Hanse, Jeanneau, Bavaria etc) offer a pilothouse option on their yachts? This little Fisher is only 30 foot long and has it as standard. It shows you how fake and phony modern sailing yacht design is...
