For 20 months Kody has not spent anytime with his kids from the other wives. Kody spent 10 DAYS without seeing Robin's daughter and he cried, wept and sobbed like a baby!

I think Robyn is manipulative- it is more than just survival for her. She puts on this show that she’s all about the big family, but she ensures that all of Kody’s time and resources are invested in her and her kids. She wants the benefit of a full time husband.
I don't disagree with that. Her survival instinct works with her inclination to manipulate the situation. By insisting on a legal marriage she has ensured that her and her children will be set financially.

I wonder if the manipulation is a survival tactic learned growing up in polygamy? Women and kids in polygamy need to find ways to get their needs met, because there is only so much of the father's time and money to go around. Might be interesting to observe her own mother. I would not be shocked if she behaved in a similar fashion.

💯agree. Robyn lives her life in fear of everything. Fear of hospitals, fear of illness, fear of being left, fear of not being Kody's perfect wife, fear of her kids playing with their siblings, fear of how she is perceived on TV, fear of poverty, fear of not being seen as perfect sister wife, fear of the other wives, fear of Kody's other children, etc. She is going to self-destruct at some point. I'm not being snarky, she needs therapy. She is raising her kids to be fearful too. Aurora's panic/anxiety attacks are an example. Ari's high-strung demand for attention. That's the trauma that she is passing on to future generations. They would all benefit from therapy to live fearless happy lives. Kody too.
She doesn't really, she is the perfect victim. The fears are the tools to control and manipulate. The doctors was clear XR no signs of pneumonia EKG no issues with heart. Her whole monolog on the hospitals not one single cough. Kody even said she came back from 5he hospital feeling a lot better. Yet her "fear" made Kody stay on the hospital parking lot for hours worried and obsessing about her. Even thinking about faking he's sicker to go be with her. She took the time, effort and space of a real sick person on that hospital for attention.
I just want to be Robyn’s sister wife for a hot minute…thoroughly check her dumb a** and check him ! Then contact my attorney and sue the living crap out of them get MY monies and move it tf ON!! This s*it is WIIIILD! Omg

Gabe footage broke my heart. How much u wanna bet that his dad didn't call 2 hours later because he finally remembered. But because Gabe told Janelle he forgot and Janelle called him mad. I bet Kody will turn this around and say he was suffering with Covid. But it's no different when he didn't remember Ysabel age, even is tho is same as Breanna. Kody probably believes Gabe sensitivity is weakness. Remember there was a reason Hunter was upset Robyn got pregnant with Sol. 10 days not "seen" Aurora he cries. He hasn't seen Maddie and his grandkids since 2019. For them to come over for Thanksgiving he needs to check things out. Mykelty came over for 2 days and they saw her just fine.

Kody’s affection for Robyn is conditional…she’s his enabler, the co-conspirator. Here’s the deal, narcissists are cowards, they need someone to help them abuse their target(s), he’s all bark and no bite. Everything Kody does for Robyn and her children is transactional, and she knows it…sadly, she cares only about herself but it will backfire. Kody is performing for the cameras and once they’re no longer there and the TLC checks stop, he no longer has to pretend that he’s a great husband and father to Robyn. Narcissists will always get bored with you and it doesn’t matter how much you love, and adore them; I guarantee you, Kody will soon be looking for a young, pretty, child-bearing woman.

Here’s what really concerns me about Robyn, surviving is understandable, but when you’re doing so, at the risk of others, that’s a problem. There are so many people, who come from an toxic/abusive environment, and, they had to learn to survive, however, they don’t lie, cheat, manipulate and cause chaos to achieve their goal and that’s my problem with Robyn. What frightens me about Robyn…she lies without blinking and pretends that she cares. Her favorite words are ‘family culture’…I would ask her to explain what she means… I’m sure she will give a blink stare. She came into the family with debt and 3 children…she’s never made any effort to contribute, I can’t wait for her and Kody to reap what they sow.
When my sister's wife's closest was clearly not going to succeed Meri said she wanted to go back to college. Robyn cried and told Meri she was worried it would keep Meri too busy to help with the jewelry(what? online orders?)business. This was b4 the catfish so I never understood why Robyn would stop Meri from bettering herself. Robyn wants the family when they do exactly what she wants n I don't know who's family culture definition that is.
They'll go bust for certain. They don't grasp how money works, it's a skill they don't possess. Neither is a realist in regards to life goals, and they both alienate others because they are so self centered. Kody is a two bit salesman at center, and Robyn is an entitled leech. They'll blow up at retirement age. Neither are saving money. And, Robyn will probably end up with real health issues, which, in this country, can sink you pretty quickly. Enjoy it while you can- losers. I realize this is harsh, but these two deserve it-
As for Meri- rather than being independent and strong, she has just become a perma middle aged mean girl.
She needs to get a clue and get going. Most mlm's aren't quality products, so she's essentially screwing people over. Karma knocks scammers around, I wouldn't want to be her.
I do hope that Christine and Janelle continue to be an amazing team! I would watch a spin off to keep up with them, and their children. I could see Christine meeting a truly great guy. Despite everything, (disappointments) she continues to be an especially nurturing mom and grandma, it shows! And Janelle just needs a little push to get going in the direction of standing up to Kody, and claiming what she deserves and has earned :)! Use your practical nature, and don't give up and get steam rolled Janelle- get a specialized attorney!

I really like your takes. I was just thinking that when you have 18 children and 4 wives, well now 3, and most of the relationships are in the toilet you might be the problem. Kody will never think he is part of the problem and get never get the help he needs to have healthy relationships.

Ikr Kody thinks that Janelle and Christine are turning his kids away from him. For 10 years I only heard them say what a great dad he was. I think they were 💯wrong but that was their take on his fathering skills. He turned those kids against him all on his own!!!!!

Kody made my skin crawl from the very first five minutes of the first episode. A classic narcissist.
Normal people always have that reaction when seeing a malignant narcissist in action. They are very careful to choose victims that will fall for their manipulations, and the narcissist will ensnare them by pretending to be exactly what the victim perceives as perfection in the opposite sex.

Kodylocks is not listed on Truely's birth certificate. Why I don't get how he thinks he has a chance in hell getting 50% custody of his daughter. I'm sure Robyn will try to interfere with that. I hold Robyn and her two oldest daughter partly responsible for not fixing up a room for True. I thought it was all about having a big family...I thought Robyn was all about being a mother to ALL of the kids???? Talk is cheap Robyn.
I 100% believe that Janelle has already left. And I pray that she has. This is the same pattern that Robyn and Kody put Christine through when they were harassing her into leaving.

Love your channel and your commentary on Kody. You're right, regardless of if he is a narcissist or not, he is an egotistical person, an absentee father and an emotionally neglectful husband who weaponized sex and affection. What a sad person he is.

I agree with you 100% Kody is the one who, at the end of the day is responsible for his own actions. Yes, Robyn from the beginning of their relationship, has made it priority #1 to make sure that every time Kody walks into her house, that he's the center of attention, I wouldn't be surprised if she ran to the door and removed his shoes for him every time he showed up. She made certain that the kids were well behaved, that everything ran smoothly. Doing that one or two days a week, a few days a month, is not hard to pull off, but having to do it every single solitary day for two years? Has to be exhausting. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Robyn has been deflecting Kody's attention from the lack of perfection in her house and her. onto the way his other wives and kids "Mistreat' him and usurp his role as "Head of the family" in order to keep Kody 'happy' and his attention off of her At the end of the day, regardless of the tricks Robyn or anyone else might pull on Kody, He makes his own decisions.
James, you've accomplished the impossible, you've given me the ability to have some compassion for Robin. I now understand that her behavior may be due, in part, to the system she is enmeshed in. To be clear, this does not forgive her behavior; it just helped me understand her behaviors better.

💯 correct. Robyn is playing into his ego which gives her benefits. She used that tactic coming into the relationship to her advantage. She knew feeding his ego would get her the number 1 spot. She told her kids to do the same. Anything to get out of that financial debt and never look back. Kody may be nicer to Robyn’s kids but they look miserable.
Part of the reason ethical psych folks don't want to diagnosis narcissism is because there isn't enough info to say Kody is one outside of his family relationships because we don't see those ... but I will say that he meets criteria superficially for several personality disorders ... which means the likelihood of him acknowledging his thoughts and behaviors are part of the problem are slim to none ... and that means zero effective therapy ... I honestly wonder if the sudden urge to leave Vegas (other than Robin being afraid to be so far away from David-Dayton) is because Nancy, their therapist, caught on to what was happening and recommended effective therapeutic treatment that suggested Kody might not be perfect
I always thought Nancy had to be the least insightful counselor in history, to never recognize & call out Kody's blinding narcissism in counseling. But on the other hand, any counselor that didn't pretend Kody was normal would be instantly discarded.

Ya that is a dumb reason from the psych community. 2+2=4. It also shows that the majority of psychological professionals have no idea what Cluster B personality disorder look like. I will tell you as someone with a B.A. in psychology that was married to someone Dx with NPD and sociopathic tendencies I have seen many psych professionals and even those that now specialized in NPD and NPD abuse that flat out told me when I was upset about my education that it simply is not covered beyond knowing the DSM criteria for the test and telling you that you will not really even see people with these disorders unless you work in the criminal system/mandated thearpy. And that just isn’t true. Therapist see coverts in marriage consulting all the time. They see narcissistic parents bring their children in to thearpy to “fix” them. They have a narcissist CO boss. They have a narcissist mom or MIL.
NPD isn’t rare at all but most people do not see it, because they only target the supplies closest to them. People with cluster B disorders mask all day and with their new supplies. There goal is to not have to mask and still have the supply stay like Mary.
It’s why you see serial killers and they interview the neighbors and they are all shocked that their perfect neighbor that was so quiet, helpful, kind, etc did those things. They purposely created the image and wore a mask with the other neighbors to be able to do those horrific things. People see is as an anomaly but it isn’t. Domestic abusers do the same thing. If they were like that all the time and showed everyone who they are without the mask they wouldn’t get the supply/victims/ enablers they need.
Only people that have a cluster B disorder that is unsophisticated shows their disorder in all environments and yes those are overwhelmingly the ones that are the est 2% Dx in the prison system. Others are your surgeons, generals, police officers, CEOs, billionaires, etc that only those closest to them would see the abuse and they found other outlets for their Dx like firing thousands of people or being able to be view as a god by patients and coWorkers.
It’s just socially excepted that a surgeon would have a god complex and discard the wife that put him through med school. That he dated through HS and has 2 children with like trash for a 22 year old nurse. We as a society don’t think ya that’s a narcissist, but they probably are if they got Dx.

However if you're using your B.S. in psych as sufficient foundation to say people with their doctorate or MD and years of training in the field are stupid for not diagnosing based on what they see on TV (which can be modified and/or faked) instead of actual in-person contact, that is insulting to clinicians everywhere who take what they do seriously ... serious clinicians realize diagnosis takes time and info and interaction with clients, not what a show runner wants to show ... half-baked ones make diagnoses based on 3rd party communication, like TV shows ...
If your response was meant to be informative in general, no worries ... there is so much popular culture gets wrong about psychological disorders in general ... and goodness knows every couple of decades we have a change in the "cool" disorder that everyone has, typically self-diagnosed ...

Robyn, "It's so hard to breathe." A line spoken out loud while she had the apparent strength to film herself and continue speaking. While she said that, it was clear the hospital didn't think she needed a nose cannula.

Gabriel wants his Father’s Love and being Ignored by him. Kody is in Love with himself and Sob😢yn Robyn But he needs to be a Father to that young man. Hopefully and Prayerfully Gabe will receive Therapy. He’s hurting, Gabriel broke down crying actual tears, HE WASN’T (SOBYN DRY TEARS) how can his father forget his son’s Birthday, (a “A TRUE FATHER and/or DAD” would’ve remembered )
Sobyn is masterful at blowing sunshine up Kody’s ass, & has trained her children up to do the same. From the jump, she had them calling him Daddy, & has infantilized the younger ones, because she knows as soon as they’re old enough to have an opinion with him, he’ll discard them like all the rest of his kids. She made sure her older kids are submissive & obedient.
I can’t imagine the energy it takes to keep all that up for so long, but they’re in it for the long haul, & it’s paying off nicely for her.💰
I think Robyn does play into a lot of Kody's bs, but I also think he actively works to undermine Robyn's relationship with the others way more than she realizes. The way she didn't know about the texting conversation kind of rings of when he needed to own the wedding dress situation in the 1st season. It's like he can't just let controversy resolve the way it might have or just let his wives have the parts of the marriage that are theirs.

Hey James I would like to hear your thoughts on the possibility Kody is on steroids or testosterone? Normally I would think it's just a reddit rumor but I think there are a lot of signs it could be true. Kody's behavior has changed so much the last few years, the outbursts, paranoid need for loyalty, blaming Christine for turning the kids against him, etc.. The turning point for me from rumor to possibility was his admitting he didn't sleep for 3 days n it wasn't just saying his legs n back were sore but he named every individual muscle. Just a suspicion but I want to know if you think the this could explain why he's gone so far off the deep end.

Kody is an outright narcissist. Robyn is a covert narcissist. End of story. She said she has a bench out on coyote pass and watches Janelle. Really? She manipulates kody and he's so wrapped in the honeymoon phase of their relationship that he cant even see it, but he will, trust me, it wont last. Pay attention to what she says! Robyn manipulates her children all the time, remember Thanksgiving?
Janelle no longer serves kody's purposes. She doesn't feed his ego. She doesn't defend him, she is finally starting to see him for what he really is and she had the nerve to defend Christine! Robyn knows that as long as she feeds kodys ego, she'll get what she wants.
As far as Robyn's ex treating her badly...no, he didn't. There's an interview floating around with one of his family members, a nephew I think, their marriage broke up because he didn't want to live polygamy and she did. She wanted to be a first wife! Yes, they had a rough marriage, but it wasn't just his fault. He is not the only guilty party. I'm not talking about physical violence, I'm talking about 2 people who wanted different things. Robyn's kids still see their father and don't forget she was an actress. No body cries this much about every single thing! Robyn, in my opinion, uses her children for whatever purpose suits her in the moment and it's sad. She is just just as narcissistic as kody, just a little more covert about it..
I can’t stand Kody and watching Gabe hurtling like that was just heartbreaking 💔 😢 I think it was all the years and Covid months of neglect that caused him to stop talking to Kootie. The best way I have found to deal with narcissists is to cut them off as much as possible. But, I will say forgetting to say Happy Birthday, even calling by chance the same day and forgetting to say it….I’m not from a polygamous family but we (me included) have all done this accidentally at some point. As adults we just don’t take it personal. If Kootie hadn’t already completely depleted the emotional connection, Gabe would not have been so hurt.
How to deal with a narcissist: no contact if at all possible, minimal contact in any case.
If you think about Kody and Robyn when they were courting, what you say makes a lot of sense. Kody had went on record to say he wasn't interested in bringing in a wife that already had kids, which is hypocritical since he already had kids. But Robyn was the exception and because he saw himself as her and her kids' savior. Robyn was in a bad place from getting out of a bad marriage and taking on a lot of debt and here comes Kody to save them from things her Robyn's allegedly bad husband did. If Robyn's "mistreatment" was particularly severe then Kody's actions are probably a walk in the park for her. She probably sees it as an upgrade compared to what she had been through before and that probably clouds her ability to really see the mistreatment being done to the other wives and kids. She's probably comparing everyone's relationship to what she went through with her ex and if the relationship isn't a mirror image of it then it can't be that bad and she can't understand why people would complain. Meanwhile Kody's ego is being fed because in his mind he must be a better husband and father than Robyn's ex so he can't understand why everyone is having issues because he's the one doing great by comparison of the first husband.

I also think Robyn has learned this survival from her own childhood. This is all conditioning. She thinks of her first marriage as failure, so she doubled down on the tactics she learned.

Robyn may have accused her ex of abuse, but she let her kids go spend time with him immediately after they were adopted. Also, he filed for divorce. Whatever was happening in that house, I don't believe it's the story Robyn has shared. Abusers don't typically file for divorce. Those who are abused don't typically send their kids back to a parent when they don't have to.

I watched Crystal Ball's rendition of an interview she did with one of his family members. Holy smokes!!! It was definitely not a good look for her, and actually makes me feel worse for the rest of the family. They didn't have a choice when it came to her being added, and now they are dealing with the reality that she could financially gut the family if she divorces Kody. Just insane.
Robin better worry about the next wife.

I am 100% convinced that all the friction with Robyn is due to Kody and Kody alone. Robyn is just doing what she needs to for her and her kids to get cared for and survive. I think Kody is the one with all the "rules" and other things that alienate the rest of the family, and he lets everyone PERCEIVE that it's Robyn that is demanding these things. He wants the boys to apologize to Robyn for thinking she made all those crazy rules that hurt the whole family, but why should they if it was really her? It's Kody that has done it, and has allowed everyone to think ill of Robyn so he can get a pass yet expects everyone to apologize to Robyn for thinking ill of her.
We have only seen one on one conversations with Kody and Robyn once a season or so. He can't turn off those behaviors. Robyn could be perfect, but he will still show those bad tendencies. Robyn doesn't let us see her life. She just comments on others.
I made this same observation, which is why I don't think a show without the other wives would work.

The Daggers, had their stuff together, it was hilarious to see the look on Kody's face when Mr Dagger out "husbanded" him. It was an unfavorable comparison. Kody was crushed.

Kody has said “if I don’t try and reconcile with these ladies, Robyn won’t stay”. So she’s making demands. Always has. But I think he made concessions while they were courting. She would come in if…he told her the other women were just there for procreation. Just for the kids. I’m all yours. That’s why Robyn is so confused all the time.
I would love for a psychologist to speak about malignant narcissist characteristics.

We have these systems too but we talk ourselves out of believing what our body is telling us. It irks me when he says “Robyn and our kids” but when it comes to another wife he says “Janelle’s kids” or “Christine’s kids”. Kody and Robyn are partners in crime. Robyn has manipulated Kody and is emotionally controlling him. I can tell in the way he is so confused about how he feels and the way he behaves like a parasitic host to Robyn and her children, desperately trying to please her but if you notice she is never pleased with him.
And by deflecting the wives on their alleged poor treatment of Robyn is gaslighting. He is being held accountable for his behaviour and the obvious difference in how his marriage looks different with Robin. And in turn he doubles down and says no u are treating Robin and her children like crap and I have to make up for that poor treatment. I treat Robin and her children well because they respect me and are loyal to me..... and when Janelle asks what, how and why she or their children are not loyal he lists her making decisions independently - even though in order for her to make decisions in her house hold feasibly she can't wait every 4 days for his input and they potentially disagree. Instead of accepting that seeing her partner every 5-7 days is rough

Robyn says she ended her previous marriage due to abuse. But according to court records he left her, and mentioned her excessive credit card debt as a contributing factor. I'm not saying he wasn't abusive, but there's no record of anything documented, and the protective order against him was determined by the judge to not meet the standards and was dismissed. She also told all the girls years ago that she was groomed as a teenager who "trashed her purity" in an inappropriate way. I know initially Kody felt she had an "ick factor" being divorced with kids. So she definitely seems to me to maintain this narrative which helps Kody justify being with her. Same with his adoption of her kids. I'm not saying she's a bad person. I think she just does and says what he wants to make sure he keeps taking care of her and her kids. And his narcissism is fed by that. He sees Robyn and her kids as better bc they make him feel better about himself.
Robyn might be giving Kody most of what he needs, but he will become used to her, and become critical and harsh with her, too. I wouldn't want to be Robyn. Not for Kody's money. Not for Bill Gates' money. He's a jerk, and will be horrid with her, too. It's his nature.

Cody isn’t a narcissist. He was taught that men who have enough wives and children become gods in the afterlife. It’s rational under such a belief system for men to hold themselves as gods on earth.

My Unpopular opinion, kody encouraged robyn to never work. She thought it meant he favors her, and maybe he does. But i think he did it so she would remain dependent on him. It backfired though, because by making her a " legal wife" now he has alot to loose.

He may have a condition called Borderline personality disorder. This is a narcissistic disorder. This is also a disorder that only allows people to love one person deeply. He met Robyn and well the the other 3 wives became the problem.

She is going to go out of this world with this stuff she's done living in the internet, remember Ari and Solomon will grow up someday and watch this and see this and form their own opinions of both parents Robyn and Kody.Rovyn has lost all happiness in her life, what hobbies does she have?, What friends did she she have?, Some Kendra who helped catfish Meri.What friends as couples do they have, to go out do couples fun things, Robyns life is so sad and can't figure out why she wants that?
The cameras Super magnify things but most men appreciate honor, respect and admiration from their wives and children and most women appreciate being cherished. The whole set up of having several wives is just never going to work. Especially on tv.

While I don’t like to over analyze gabe being vulnerable, expressing his pain and crying, I can’t help but compare his emotional crying with robin’s. Gabe is crying because he is emotionally wounded by his father. And Gabe’s tears shine light on kody not being good or great or a super hero.
What are Robins tears saying about kody? They are not saying that he has caused pain. I think they are very very fake. I don’t think there is any pain behind them. I think they are for baiting kody to rescue and save her by giving her what she wants. I also think they are for making kody attack and harm his other wives and even his children. But I don’t really know. What do you think about robins tears?
