excellent performance from the Cork man and his Cork personality and charm shone bright , seems a real nice chap , but has some voice ,, john hunt from co clare
wow, wow that's awesome and sooooo sweet. very interesting and entertaining. wow that's so beautifully done. powerful voice. great skill 👏 ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉😂😂🎉😂🎉😂🎉😂. ❤🎉
Did he just change the whole song? I like it better the original way. Listen to Eva Cassidy's version. A songbird taken from cancer too soon, but one of the best originals ever!
Good singer but not sure he should have drifted into operatic for such a traditional Irish song, full marks for trying though and also full marks to the Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, could they be any prettier and what a lovely manner Ms Dixon has when talking to him.
there is evidence that the original tune was written by a blind Irish harpist named Rory Dall O'Cahan1. Blind Rory, a descendant of the ruling O'Cahan clan, was a composer who lived sometime between 1560 and 1660 and who was well-known for his purths, or harp tunes, the best known of which is 'Tabhair Dom do Lámh', or 'Give Me Your Hand'. He honoured the Highland gentry whose homes he frequented with his compositions, and according to the writings of one Arthur O'Neill, it was in one such house on the island of Skye that Blind Rory died, leaving his harp and tuning key.
He didn't know the song! He left all the difficult bits out; save for his last 3 notes....I'm not a fan of "BGT" so the judging for me was at best, puzzling.
WTF? Who edited that shite? They have completely butchered the song and his performance. Why bother making a 4 minute video when only about 30s is his actual singing??
Fantastic vocals on one of my all time favorite songs! God bless you from Texas, USA. 🙏🏻✝️❤️🔥

So surprised that he is a Cork man. I wonder even more so, why he left a lot of the song (and its narrative) out.

Be great if Big Head could stop chomping during the presentation.
Can I have a taxi please! 🚕
This song needs a softer voice. But he should sing something more powerful like Maria from West Side Story.
Did he just change the whole song? I like it better the original way. Listen to Eva Cassidy's version. A songbird taken from cancer too soon, but one of the best originals ever!
Every pub has someone just as good
Yeah right
True
My dad was a Cork City man and sang this song just as good.. in many a pub
Let Eric Clapton get the guitar out.. only sing if you have lost someone you have love dearly....
Frank Patterson is the only person that can sing this song...used in the film "millers crossing"
You should hear Peter Hollens All Acapella
several good singers sang the song
Plot twist: Darragh ate Danny Boy
Lou Todd knows , that Andy could do it a little better :)

For fuck sake people will clap at anything

An Irishman singing an English song. The tune is Irish but the words were written by an Englishman.

Ballbag
The tune is credited to Jane Ross, she was Scottish.

and this guy isnt that good
WTF?

Wasn't all that.
I don't know but I feel that it cheapens the history and story of the song dedicating it to a dog. No offense I love dogs but....
Contrary to Simons claim that all people who love dogs will go to heaven. They are all bound for hell.
I agree 1000 persen LOL
I also think that you will go to hell
@Rosida Andriyana I happen to be Welsh and by grace, I am going to enter into the New Yerusalem.
@@niskalawastu3075 There is no 1,000%
@@kristinheath9723 You are incapable of rational thought and so you can't "think".
That's a truncated piece of crap! Like less than half the song. Maybe I got a cutdown version. And it should be sung by a woman, not a man.
Danny Boy is a song from a father to his son.
@@marciasuminski8455 It is, but the male version is called Eily Dear and was written 6 years before the lyrics were changed in 1916 to Danny Boy.
I don’t like that song
