I've been watching and listening to you since the beginning of covid, and got interested in intermittent fasting, I boldly tried 16 hrs fasting straight after my retirement in May 2022 (60 yrs), last meal at 8 pm, break fast at 12 pm the follwing day, I engage myself in activities like walking, vising temples, reading, listening to music watching videos of yours and other interests between 6 am and 12 pm. And on 4 days a month, ekadasi, sashti, 40 hrs of fasting from 8 pm to 12 pm of the 3rd day, drinking only water, noticed NO sap of energy and interest to go about doing the routines, noticed that am left with lots of energy and enthu and vigour to go, in 3 month's time lost 5 kgs, from 68 to 63. Am doing great and share and recomnend yours as well as others' videos on intermittent fasting to all my friends, Cheers

Hi, I started with 12 hour fasting a year and a half ago didn't see much changes for the first 6 months. Then shifted to 14hrs and little by little my weight started to shed off. And craving too came off. But some times I have icecream and desserts. Regular Indian non veg diet but in moderation.
I started off this journey with 67 kgs and at present I have reached 54kgs. I'm so happy that I am back to my healthy weight.
Being a Medical professional I recommend this method to my patients too. Diabetics are seeing huge difference in blood sugar levels. Amazing.
    Thank you Dr. Palaniappan.

In our community we do fasting on 11th day of the moon cycle. Monthly 2 such days come. My personal experience was, once I fell down and got severe hurt to my Knee. I couldn't even touch it due to pain. I thought of going to visit doctor. By that time we got 11th day where we need to dry fast. That time was special of 2 continues fasting days. I did 2 days of dry fasting and the miracle was, my knee pain 99% reduced. I am free of pain without visiting doctor and taking medicine.

Thanks for the video Dr. have couple of questions.. 1. Sometime when doing fasting/ or when i hunger we used to hear a gastric sound in tummy is it good or bad.. If bad what should be done? . 2. What is the line/difference between intermittent fasting which is good and reasons for creating stomach Ulcer that's bad (which we heard one of reason to be due to non-routine in take of food) ? If we get to know the difference would be helpful. Thank you

I was following two meals a day for last 4 - 5 years and kept my weight constant successfully. From last 6 months or so, however, lost some controls and gained just 2 kgs but a significant belly fat. So started looking for various options and came across this beautiful series of your videos.
I have to leave for office at 6:30 am and return home by 6:30 pm. So I skip breakfast and have lunch directly at 1:30. Dinner directly before 9:30 pm. I used to have a cup of milk coffee in the morning and at evening, but has stopped it now after watching your videos.

16:8 here. Fasting window is 6:30 pm to 10:30 am. My thoughts:
    - It feels great because GERD is completely gone (not the case when I did a 8pm-noon fast)
    - It’s not too hard if you’re used to ekadasi fasting and so on
    - Be hydrated
    - Eat some lentils/fiber rich foods every meal because it gave rise to unpleasant issues
    - If hungry, keep busy:)
    - I’m not seeing great/quick progress with weight, but no heartburn is a godsend
-I take levothyroxine during the fasting window, but not seeing big change in my tsh
    - If the family doesn’t do IF, it’s definitely irritating to them :) So have patience
Thanks for the videos. I wish I had started this years ago, so there’s less catching up to do

If the first food (even tasting food) is the beginning of our eating period for that day, does brushing count as the first trigger? I agree we don't eat toothpaste :-) But still that is the first dose of sweetness to our taste buds. Hence the question. Please continue enlightening us.

Hello Dr. Pal - Glad to have stumbled upon your videos and channel recently. I just love the videos. It’s very helpful with a touch of fun factor incorporated 😊.
One thing I would like to check is my family doctor once said delaying breakfast causes acidity. So, will fasting again cause this or increase the acidity at all? If so, how do we handle. Thank you in advance! Hoping to you see your response.

He said in a video starting with IF can cause acid reflux. If it is not a big issue in your body, the body will automatically adjust within 6 weeks. Anyway consulting a doctor is a good idea too

I started with 12 hrs fasting slowly increases to 15 hrs fasting with 8 hours of eating windows.Sometimes I was thinking how to survive with 2 meals per day,now I am practicing it since last one and half year which is easily achievable.. Sometimes it happened I had a heavy lunch so that I could manage one meal per day..by the way I am a strict vegetarian without any diary products 🙏
