I liked the bigger mustache more. But, really, it doesn't matter what I or anyone else think - after all, it's not our beards! Everyone should rock whatever they are most comfortable with! Greg is rocking this new look, and it looks good on him.

First time I grew my beard out over a year I let the mustache grow - I don’t have quite the mustache you have but even so it was a huge pain and after I trimmed it short I was so glad I did. I’m now in a 9 month or so old beard that is long but have kept the mustache trimmed short and it’s so much easier to deal with.

100% agree with Greg on trimming. Growing out my beard for the first time in years, and just cut it a little too short for my liking. Should have stuck with just the initial cuts I was intending, but then kept going. It doesn't look bad, but it went further than I expected. Definitely heed that advice.
I've had my mustache for 27 years and am constantly trimming it so it doesn't grow over my top lip. I finally have grown a beard at 54 years old and I'm shocked at all of the gray BUT I like it. I've finally learned patience when it comes to growing a beard. The longest I went with a beard before this was a month.

This is what I've been doing for years. Never liked the hair in the mouth, just didn't feel right. My beard is the same length that yours is in this vid, Always had a shorter "business-beard". I let my hair grow quite long over the past 4 years, and the look really suits me. Love the Viking vibe, and at 60yrs.old(young) I am sticking with it.

Been watching some of Greg's videos as of late. All the bromancing or possible mancrushes (no judgement) in many of these comments aside, I would counter that the shorter mustache makes for a less effective "kisser" for the girlfriend, wife (speaking for myself), or significant whoever. It was always my experience that the shorter mustache hairs (especially those nearest to the mouth) tend to be more rigid and prickly. Especially to the touch of a woman's softer lips. My wife never cared for my mustache for that reason. However, 5 weeks in with no trimming, she not only likes the longer mustache, but really prefers it (no longer prickly)! That said, after retiring from a career where I had to constantly be clean shaved (except for a mustache), it's nice to find an older guy out there with tips for those of us who are growing their first real (longer) beard in 25 years. Thanks to Greg, Beardbrand, and whoever it was that said ... "rock whatever you're comfortable with!"

After chasing the handlebar myself for a year, I'm going to the shorter mustache. So much easier. Neat and tidy. I'm in. The ends came off, and the lip is out. Ironic that you went there about the same time I did. Now I need to dial in my beard length. I think about an inch off. I've been hovering at 6" (from the bottom lip) for a while. Time to square it up a bit. Keep the vids coming. Thanks! (BTW--I love the temple smoke, but my wife is very scent-sative. Maybe a light scent, or unscented line? I had to send my too-smelly back. Just a thought.)

I think a short mustache is definitely more functional. Your current mustache length does look good in proportion to the current length of the overall beard.I haven't shaved my beard since March due to being laid off because of COVID-19 Shutdown.I'm getting close to finally getting a trim however I've never been to a barbershop and don't know who to trust.. i've been doing this lately and its made quality of life alot better with the beard! Took the mo right down to 1 with a clipper, pretty much like a muslim style beard but it grows in nicely. Now i can eat burgers with no mess.. its so good 😁

Do you have any suggestions for my beard . Little short story. 25 years ago my wife's car blew up while I was under the hood and burnt my left side . And 5 years ago I was working on a vehicle and the radiator hose blew off this time my right side . So my question is my hair's grow in several directions. Please let me know what you think

What about combing the moustache sideways and do a similar trim afterwards? Kind of a compromise: still a longer looking moustache but more practical in everyday use.
I have 'Parted the seas' and swept my moustache out of the way....its very doable.

It's really more relative to the style you're going for. You can still keep the lip area out of the mouth but over the lip. Then, let the tails have more length. Check out how Carlos works this technique to help manage what you're experiencing. 🤜 -Sly

Using a small buzzer is a hella lot easier and more precise than using scissors to trim your beard
I prefer the look of the longer mustache but for me it’s super annoying to have, especially when it comes to drinking my fruit smoothies and eating.
Looks great, I’m not a fan of food all over the mustache, the shorter beard looks better too, now cut the hair some.
