4:24 to 5:28 is by far the best part of that track and the best part of any soundtrack of the Bond films composed by John Barry. I’ve loved listening to that part since I first heard it in the late 90s when in my late teens. Starcrash & Black Hole are other excellent sci-fi soundtracks by John Barry along with his scores to Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Walkabout, King Kong, Hanover Street, etc.
Frickin epic! Moonraker and The Spy Who Loved Me are the best of the power-mad billionaire Bonds, however Goldfinger stands alone in his own category. But in the world of 007, especially where there's a SPECTRE, the fact that Goldfinger, Stromberg, and Drax weren't members adds another dimension to their characters. These were guys even Blofeld didn't want anything to do with!
would love to hear some more tracks from this piece of vinyl. Its great music and probably one of the best bond soundtracks, but it always gets a bad press due to its weak sound quality. It was recorded in an old church in Paris with John Barry absent - and has a bit of a shut in sound. Your vinyl does sound better than the cd version, but would love to hear more tracks! cheers.
kevin sullivan I used to really enjoy Moonraker - last time I watched it though I couldn't get through it - I think it was mainly that Bond is quite unlikable in this one - I prefer Roger Moore in the later films like For Your Eyes Only and View to a Kill. Listening to the soundtrack has made me want to go back and revisit it again though.
Best instrumental from the soundtrack!
all can i say that this is John Barry at his ultimate, superb best.
The mighty John Barry strikes again...his reputation will only grow with time...

I love this track, especially from 4:24 to 5:29. The awe and beauty of it never gets old.
Agreed...that is the best part! I could listen to that section over and over again.

John Barry, best ever, wish I'd met him
What an utterly superb compilation of some of Barry's most stirring compositions. Thank you - it's magnificent.
