I love your videos. Your videos are always very real and authentic. The balance between music, image and your ability to tell a story is very heartwarming.
I've also had those days when out on a photo hike when the photos I've taken don't excite me. Sometimes it's just great to get out on a hike and get some exercise and fresh air. That hike was definitely worth it for the portrait of the two of you.
Hi, Brae. I watched the entire video and was not bored for a single second. It is a beautiful environment there. And as for black and white, I shoot 95% black and white. So you won't bore me with black-and-white work, friend. Keep making memories. Kind regards from the Netherlands, Antoine.
For what it's worth I thought it was a good video. I like these hike up the mountain vlog types that you do, would like to see more of them. You know photos are photos, for me a big part of what I enjoy about photography is going out and being in a place and working the process and using a camera I really like to photograph the things that I love. Tri-X is my favorite B+W for landscape, always get some drama out of it.
Dude…all images were cool…but the self-portrait of “yours and mine” with Alicia…was fire. Digging the B/W as that is what I cut my teeth on…yeah I have a “couple” years on ya! Whatever that means…LOL
loved the vibe of the video bro, the picture at 15:20 is definitely my favorite, looking forward to some more videos now that its getting nicer up there in the PNW. Keep up the good work
Brae some time ago: I sold the Mamiya, too expensive, lenses too sharp and something else I don't remember Brae now: I love the Mamiya! Hahaha I get you, it really just feels right, doesn't it? Random fact: I just scanned some tests I did a while ago and it matched and sometimes surpassed the resolution of my Sony a7rii, quite impressive.
Totally understand the feeling man, but at the end of the day you can only try and see how it goes. Getting those candid shots for memories is something I have really tried to do more of recently too, like you said those are the ones you will want to look back on in years to come. Looked like a solid day in the mountains either way ✌
Liked this one. It motivated me to plan a hike as soon as the weather improves (which could be May here on the west coast of Norway). I liked the shots as well. It was a good reminder that medium format can be used for everyday shots. Oh, and I had to smile when you mentioned the therapy of the outdoors. When I head out the door for a hike I tell my wife I´m going to see my therapist. Good video. Just what I needed. Keep it up, and get out there.
Still a great video. Looking forward to more hiking videos! I'm really looking forward to being able to to hike the PNW for the first time this summer (travelling from Ottawa).
I had a similar experience recently in Boston. Random 50 degree February day - but all the trees/foliage were of course absolutely dead. My photos were way worse than yours. At least we both got out there. Proper spring and summer cannot come soon enough!
I had a stroke about 6 yrs ago. I walk unbalances with a cane. But i love photography. Im limited on walking, but you always do great hikes i was a part of. Stay up!
what do you record with? i do photography but id really like to get nice quality shots when im out in nature sadly my nikon d3300 doesnt really shoot videos well
Bro taking both his girls on the same hike. Power move.
😭😭🤣

Don’t be so hard on yourself, the photos were more than fine! Kentmere in the backcountry is a vibe 😎.
I so agree with you.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻

Couldn't agree more! If ya end up with a couple decent photos, that's always a bonus!
Nice Video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
u should definitely try some colour filters like yellow or orange to increase contrast and get the dark sky white puffy clouds look!!
Definitely will be using color filters this summer when I get out on the trail again 👍🏻
Love the pictures! Glad to hear that getting your film developed and hating every image is not just me 🤣
Haha happens to all of us 😅

You're always worth it Brea, just give us the content.
Thank you sir ❤️
Love the photos but the grading of the video is what really got me. Looks awesome.
Thank you! 🙏🏼

Thanks for the kind feedback! Been a while since I've shot tri-x. Need to pick up a few rolls. Cheers!

The B&W definitely worked well for the sell portrait of you two, really for all the people photos. Nice hike! Cheers.
Thanks Bob! Cheers.
Love your videos in general weather the photos turn out “good” or bad. Keep it up
Thank you dude 🤝🏼

Thanks dude! Yeah, definitely can't complain either way. At worst, it was an awesome day out on the trail. 🤘🏼

Love it. Thanks Brian. Very eager to do some hiking in Norway this year!
I have bad rolls too and it’s a downer. But then I realized I still got a walk or hike in!
Exactly!
Still a great video. Looking forward to more hiking videos! I'm really looking forward to being able to to hike the PNW for the first time this summer (travelling from Ottawa).
Thanks! That’ll be an awesome trip. Enjoy the northwest!

Getting out there is all that matters! A day in the outdoors is a good day!
I’m always the one in my group who ends up in the water so I respect your game. Real recognize real
Haha someone’s gotta do it
9:03 I stuck around and I’m glad I did, great video and great photos Brae!
Thank you!

So sorry to hear that. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. All the best ❤️
9:04 That's the issue right there. I'll take a moody day over a sunny day for midday photography at Middle Fork any time. ;)
You're not wrong!
@@BraeHunziker Remember the community hike you organized some time back? THAT kind of weather makes for great BW images!! :)
M8 why apologise, I really did enjoy the video 😌
Thank you haha
Did you move away from the Pentax? How do feel about the new setup
Still have the Pentax 67ii and it’s still my favorite camera. Just use the Mamiya when I need a more portable and lightweight setup!
Speaking of filters. try kentmere 400 with a red filter. Seriously!
what do you record with? i do photography but id really like to get nice quality shots when im out in nature sadly my nikon d3300 doesnt really shoot videos well
Sony a7iv
I’m blind, what was happening around 13:08?
That bromance product placement…
As it turns out, you don't need to have taken the most incredible photos to make an enjoyable video.
Well thank you!
