They're talking about "Meet Dave" which is only confusing because there's already another film called "Dave" where the president goes into a coma and a regular guy replaces him or something.
Speaking of Norbit ruining relationships, when i was around 8 or 9, my neighbor who would babysit took us to see norbit and that was the last time we saw her. She still lived next door but she never babysat again or came over for dinner or anything like that
I enjoy eddie murphy stand up and his snl skits. He toned down his act after having kids, but after that people emulated a lot of him and richard pryor. So yeah I can see how by todays standards it does not stand out, but at the time it was so new. Same with red foxx.

A global pandemic and mass protesting and riots happened after I saw Norbit.
He was actually in a pretty good movie called Mr.Church; it was a serious role, but he was still a really good one.
Also Daddy Day Care wasn't awful for a kid's movie.
AND he was in Tower Heist, which was another role which wasn't overly jokey/ stupid, and I liked him there too.
