Great demo - I especially liked arpeggiated chords - that is the one simple test where many dirt pedals fail miserably - Rufus seems to smoothly create dirt on all types of odd intervals. Thanks, Pete.
Me thinks me has just found a new guitar hero..I look so forward to purchasing your Guitar Nerd cd. I love your playing and your musical attitude..Cool Canadian voice as well.. I work with Canadians at the International Study Centre in Herstmonceux and you guys rock....
I watched this demo a couple of years ago, and it helped me choose this Fuzz. Its highly versatile and very powerful. More aligned towards Fuzz-torsion (I can get tones of songs like Zombie by Cranberries, Give it All by Rise Against) as well as Classic Rock (Money Solo by Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix). The finish is amazing and the click knob sturdy. Really happy with this one. Wish they released a version of this one with a second knob for the octave and that it was top mounted.
Wow...I've watched a lot of your videos but that demo ...man...there was something extra fire-ish in your playing !! Keep rockin' , oh and I almost forgot - super nice fuzz pedal ;)
Thank you very much for making a real useful fuzz review... you're the only one from youtube that made nice adjustments to this kind of pedal... Pro playing, pro review, pro ears ! Thank you !
Great stuff, excellent review as usual - really like how you show different tones with different guitars on the pedals. Also, luurrve that green T type.
Thanks for the great demo, and more so on the fantastic playing. Big fan of your videos. As always they are over the top every time. I must add that I really like the pedal as well. I'll add it to the list of the others to purchase.
Hey Pete, great demo and impressive sound as always. Looking at the details it looks like you swapped the Apogee Ensemble for a UA Apollo? Is it correct? Still great sound. I was wondering if you could comment on your experience with AD converters, since I am looking to upgrade my gear ;-). Thx in advance, Jan.
Very nice demos Pete! But can you show us the function of the external switch option with one or more suhr pedals? you hardly find something about this option anywhere... even suhr doesn't show any examples.
Hey Pete, is that a Rockett Tim Pierce pedal on your board behind you? You should make s demo! :) Thanks for your great demos! It's always a pleasure to watch them! Cheers, Kalin
Hi Pete! do you know if it would be nice to mix a carl martin plexitone with this suhr rufus? I love how plexitone sounds but sometimes I miss that hendrix's tone and I would like to try to combine with a fuzz. My gear is a Blues Jr amp with Carl Martin plexitone and a Suhr Standard HSS and Richie Kotzen Telecaster.
this sounds like the most tweekable awesome fuzz I've heard. I have been hoping to find something to give me some adjustable mids as my big muff gets lost in a live mix. nice work Pete, amazing demo
would be cool to hear an updated demo from you for the Suhr Riot - ya know, the way you do the demos now...pedal in a song then pedal by itself....yer riot demo is kinda old and doesn't have the pedal by itself motif. just a thought....thx for the killer work!
Hey man, If I'm not mistaken, it's a Gil Yaron 59' build. He's a builder from Israel living in LA who built the Bone-I guitar that Pete also owns. There is a cool thread on the tdpri forum that follows him on a 59 build. Very interesting and inspiring read if you're interested.
I have just acquired this pedal and it sounds nothing like this - even when I run the same settings as Pete. It sounds more like a mild overdrive in the Green mode and not really that fuzzy in the Red mode. Any one have any ideas?
Ok, got mine today. No instructions explaining top toggle switch, on, fl, off. Also a jack on, off, fat and ground, which I guess might be for remote switching. Any idea about the toggle/slide switch? I'm due to try it out Friday at rehearsal
Every time I watch Pete Thorn do a demo I'm simultaneously inspired to play more and discouraged by my lack of chops... Awesome demo.
Great demo - I especially liked arpeggiated chords - that is the one simple test where many dirt pedals fail miserably - Rufus seems to smoothly create dirt on all types of odd intervals. Thanks, Pete.
I need this pedal!
..and I'm a drummer
Same zzzzzzsssss
There's no end to your genius!
What a player, riff master, tone monster, humble and sincere musician.
hey thanks!

Great pedal, lots of different textures, sounds fantastic! But, I looooooved your Jeff Beck t-shirt!
do you prefer the starlight by crazy tube circuit?? it was my first choice but after discovered the rufus i'm not sure animore

That intro jam was fantastic!
thanks!
This fuzz is smooth as dirt!
Great sounds!
Your Les Paul has treble bleed circuit?
hello, great demo, I have a rufus and it emits an annoying hum when activated, how can I reduce that annoying noise

I see your board has changed a bit already since you did part 1 of your new board! Starlight is still there though, really liked that wee fuzz!
I can't stop messing around, ha
Very cool. It seems super responsive to the volume control.
yes very!
Totally made me go and buy one!

This is coming! the Riot Reloaded. soon

Wow!!! Amazing!!! How much are they on the market?
I think $200?
That demo song was Fuzzalicious
Love the intro ;) !
Maybe is just me, but doesn't it sound more like an overdrive than like a fuzz? Great demo, anyway.
Pete, I get so much inspiration from the tracks you write for the demos. Can you tell me what you use to make the drum tracks?
At this point it's a lot of stuff! Making drums rock is like a fun hobby for me, ha
Pete Thorn Me too, I'm actually teaching myself to play. I bought a Roland kit and BFD2 and Addictive Drums.
Any Pedal I Want Info I Put Demo By Pete Thorn!!! You Are The Best!!!
Great pedal and great playing, whats that green tele ?
a Trussart!
it can be use on bass ?
Wall of sounds! :)

Run it into a bit of dirt (like a Bluesbreaker pedal)t or a breaking-up amp, mid-pushed eg: Laney/Marshall/Blackstar or even a BluesJnr
Dude, I've got impression that when I open my fridge, you'll jump out !

Wow I heard that pedal sound ok! But here it just sounds like a Marshall throughout 🤔 & boy Marshall really hurts!!
It sounds good but it's too polite and refined for my liking.
