How is the text fringing compared between these two models? I recently got the MSI 321UPX and am considering swapping it for a W-OLED because the slight green-purple tint I see on text.
An important thing I think that is also missed is that QD OLED's in rooms with lights also aren't really black. They have a purple'ish tint/hue that really can bother people. That said, awesome, brief, concise comparison. Earned a sub!
The purple tint is so overblown. Having had an AW3423DWF for 18mo and a PG32UCDM now, this is not something you'd ever notice unless you're in an insanely bright room with lights shining right on the screen, which WOLED will also suffer with blacks looking gray.
@@driggsy It is not "might". It is fact and is the way these panels operate. This should have been mentioned as a con, but instead you just praised QD-OLED because it's an ad.
I had a MSI (271QPX) glossy QD-OLED and returned it. By daylight (there is a windows on my left, around 3 meters away) the reflections are really bad. And we have winter, its that that bright outside. Not sure if WOLED would be much better in my case. On the other side, I have a Samsung S95D OLED TV in my living room (with a window on the opposite) and the anti-glare/matte is amazing.
The coating is just Shit or just more glossy on the Monitor 😂 nothing to do with QD or W The Samsung g80sd has an Matt finish and is really nice in bright rooms
I have a ln ultrawide VA panel and planning to upgrade it to an oled. I used my monitor for gaming and video editing. Still deciding what to get 27 inch or ultrawide. But my primary concern is dark smearing and text clarity. There is no dark smearing in oled? And what about text clarity? Oh i cant get 4k as my gpu is only 4070 ti super. Thanks!!
Oh man, you're gonna notice such a big upgrade going from VA to OLED! I really love my ultrawide OLED (MSI MEG 342C), however the only issue I have with it is when it comes to streaming. I prefer my stream to be a full 16:9 with no black bars on the top and bottom of the game, and although there are some workarounds to make it display like this, I've found the best game performance comes when utilizing the entire display. So if streaming your game at 16:9 is important to you, I would go with a standard 16:9 27" OLED monitor. Otherwise, stick with ultrawide. You shouldn't have any dark smearing in OLED. That's *typically* an issue you'll see on VA, so that alone will be a huuuuge upgrade for you. Text clarity is great. I definitely prefer text on QD-OLED vs WOLED. The matte finish on the WOLED panel kind of muddies the text to my eyes, if that makes sense. As for resolution: I think it depends on the games you play, but your 4070 Ti Super *should* be able to handle 4K games. On the gaming portion of the video at the beginning, I'm using a build w/ a 7600X and 4070 Ti Super, and it handles Fortnite and CS2 beautifully. With DLSS frame generation, the doors are pretty open. But if you're happy with your performance at 1440p on your current monitor, that'll be the best move for sure
My guy. There is NO smearing with OLED. Its response time is so fast, that going back to anything else will be impossible. Text clarity is a bit better on WOLED due to the pixel layout, however you kind of adjust to QD-OLED to the point where the minor fringing is not noticeable anymore. Just make sure not to leave brightness too high when doing productivity stuff, as that will increase burn in risk but for the most part I don't think you will have to worry too much. I believe the desktop mode on both will default it to 300 nits anyway.
I want to upgrade but don't no if I need get a oled c3 48 inch tv or a monitor I like big screens I have mqx vizio 120hz 4k qled but not much better than a regular flat screen
Gen 1 QD-OLED had a higher risk of burn-in than WOLED, but Gen 3 QD-OLED is actually much more resistant to burn-in than WOLED now. If you're strictly concerned with burn-in then QD-OLED is also where you should put your money.

QD OLED has a terrible purple tinge, and also raised blacks whenever you have enough ambient light. Also the semi-gloss finish was really bad for me, even in my nicely lit room I could always see my reflection in dark scenes. The 480hz WOLED has been WAY better.

QD-OLED is on the left
WOLED is on the right

I personally don’t see a purplish tint with my lights on, but I can understand how some might
