    I'm 13min in, and I can't resist the urge to share this:
    A repeating negative pattern in my life is that I have big problems settling in work and home - there is always disruptions;
    a repeating positive pattern is that I have been so blessed as to have had true, intimate connections with a lot of different people - with ease!

      If the pattern is repetative, changing it will bring change, not changing anything will bring more of the same.

    Thank you for this! The astrological cycles remind me of the cycles of nature, I used to watch a kingfisher arriving at the same location at the same time every day. I marvelled at the clockwork arrival of this beautiful creature and I never tired of seeing the birds daily ritual. What struck me over a long period of time was the way my musings changed from pure appreciation of the visual and the timings of its arrival to contemplating why, how and what was the deeper meaning of its daily appearance. I see that with the planets with the daily movements the cycles they repeat but why, what is the meaning what is the deeper rhythm what is the Source of the cycle. I am a new student on your 1st year course and this video on Karma has given me a deeper insight to put into my foundations as I begin this new journey.

    This is super interesting. Thanks, Acyuta-bhava. One note of difference, my esoteric training says that the asanas were developed because people's bodies would naturally move in certain ways during raising of the kundalini and enlightened states of mind. People would see this and copy the positions in hopes of obtaining the same results. Since I'm not enlightened - lol - I can't say by experience. But doing yoga does center my mind.

    I am glad you mentioned these feelings don't just disappear , yet when we address these very issues , we find are own acceptance .
    Going through these very feelings , it's history the cleansing , the room starts to get less crowded .

    Thank you Adam 🙏You are such an intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable (great breadth, depth and diversity of knowing and understanding), kind and at times very humorous teacher 🌠💯🏆 I get so much out of all your videos. Was hoping in future "Karma" videos you might touch on 1) "karmic debt" numbers in numerology. I was born on the 16th and have read that this birthdate indicates a "karmic debt" lifetime (it sure feels like it believe me) 2) the role of "critical degrees" in astrology. I read that if you have major planets at "13, 26" degrees (among other degrees) for cardinal signs, these are critical degrees. My moon is at 13 degrees Cancer and my Sun at 26 degrees Aries so I've wondered how exactly critical degrees play out 3) have read/heard a little bit how the Ascendant sign and Moon sign can show certain karma but would love to know more and, finally, lol 4) not sure if you've already done a video on Saturn, "Lord of Karma" , but I'd love to know how Saturn's placement in a natal chart and the different aspects it can have with natal planets can reflect our Karma (you definitely gave some very good examples in today's video). Once again, Thank You Adam for your tremendous work🙏 Very deep and philosophical. I loved it💕💛💙💜💚🌈

    If you're on A and you want to get to B, anything in between will result in karma, good or bad.
    Larger "inflictions" could take longer in time and could manifest in more intricate situations.
    "Bad" karma is only proof of a deficiency, on your path to B. If one was never intending to travel to B, but to C or D, there would be no need for the specific karmatic lessons that one meets on the way from A to B.
    So karma is relative to the personal charts and the moment in time it happens in.
    Attachments are what create a broader load. The more relations one has (love/career/material) the more options for karma to play out. A munk sitting on a rug all day won't have the same amount of karma as a rich CEO that has to maintain several businesses.
    Karma is not to be feared, but to be discovered, observed and maintained.
    It's just consequence.
    Luck is not a result of good karma. Luck is a consequence of necessity in scriptual predestination.
    One can win the lottery, yet loose a leg the day after in a car crash...
    If one is on the right path (there is no wrong path, mistakes and failures are part of the path), luck can increase significantly.
    What blocks most people from having "good karma"/luck, is that they THINK to "KNOW" what they WANT.
    In most cases (as good as every single one), people have a prescheduled and premanifested point of view
    due to the influence of indoctrination (schools/religion) and media brainwashing. (house with white fence, aso)
    These socially engineered concepts are disappearing as we speak, and people are truelly making up their own
    minds...
    fe: One can strive to be a succesful business individual, yet after dropping everything due to some (natural)
    cause find their true passion in something simple, like making puzzles and framing them/creating a youtube channel, instagram/pinterest, aso aso, and get even more revenue than ever before.
    Important change being the found LOVE for the ACTION. And the neglecting of material wealth prospections (preprogrammed dreams) as a motivational point.

    Very interesting, Adam! Great food for thought! My positive Karma has been mostly in terms of Education - mostly very successful and enjoyable. I'm very curious and mostly about humanist studies: history, philosophy, the arts, psychology, sociology, etc. I can see that in my chart: I have Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Vesta and MC in the 9th House (in Capricorn) and my Sun and Mercury are in the 8th in Sag, with Mercury sextiling Venus and MC. My negative Karma I would say has been a pattern of being envied and then scapegoated and pushed out (it's been vicious sometimes and often includes betrayals ) particularly by figures in authority... That has often destroyed my career completely and forced me to start again in a completely different field and sometimes even in a different location... It's created a lot of instability and anxiety and fears about trusting and showing my talents... Where would you look for that my chart? I would be tempted to look at Neptune or Pluto. My Neptune is in Scorpio in 7th House and my Pluto is in Virgo in 5th House (conjuncting my North Node) . I have no planets in 2nd House, and the only planet I have in the 20th house is Chiron right at the end of Aquarius. The struggles have been substantial... I've never been lucky in love... Many have pointed to Venus in Capricorn (conjuncting Vesta and MC) and Neptune in the 7th House... But I would have thought that Pluto conjuncting North Node in the 5th (sextiling Neptune in 7th) would help with that?

    In conclusion Adam, are you saying that even those who are undergoing great suffering and pain through-out the majority of their life that this has its purpose?
    Isn't it natural that most people are looking for at least some type of balance where the 'bad' does not exponentially out-weigh the 'good'?
    So, if there is purpose in all of this bad stuff, or karma, then whom does it serve?
    Are we literally just 'recording devices' for the Most High? ... so to fill the archaic records with experiences? ... It's hard to make sense of all of this from a mere 'earth-bound' view, locked into our five senses, you know.
    Another thing I keep pondering is that, how could there ever be any improvement to love, harmony, peace, serenity, a flow of effortlessness if the only way to realize 'the good vs. the bad, and vice versa', is if those two modalities need each other to build the contrast?
    It's a binary matrix, and anyone incarnated here will always be confronted with this binary-modality. Now what is odd to me is, that some people have almost all the luck, while others are suffering their days away. To me that's a bit out of wack, you know.
    Would you say something about this type of imbalance in regards to the individual's life vs. the collective? Thanks.

    • @Adam-Elenbaas
      @Adam-Elenbaas  4 года назад +3

      There is a lot here to respond to. Each person experiences what they experience due to their karma, which is to say, due to their choices in previous lives as well as their choices in this life. It is impossibly difficult to try to wrap our heads around the way in which ALL karma is being woven together, at all times, in all places. One thing that helps to keep it simple is to recognize that between each soul and God, everything is always 100% fair, whereas when it comes to our relationships with each other, things are not fair. This is why prioritizing our relationship with divinity helps us to receive the vision of harmony and grace that we need in order to flow through the ups and downs of life, whereas neglecting it puts us into the human realm of justice, which is not actually just at all...it is sometimes just and other times deeply unjust.
      We are not recording devices, no. Imagine instead that we are like children. We are given free will, choice, and agency. God also allows us to make decisions that create pain and suffering because for love to exist, as you say, pain and suffering and ignorance of our relationship with God also must be a real choice, with real consequences.
      What we're finally seeking is the love of God. We're seeking relationship, and not some abstract word like harmony or peace. I can use those words to describe, for example, how it feels to be in love with someone...but ultimately the relationship itself is unspeakable...even the word "love" fails to grasp the meaning of deep, intimate, loving connection. And the ancient yogic scriptures teach us that even when we find love, and we transcend the dualities of the material world, the same dualities still exist as part of the divine play of love in higher and higher states of intimate union with God...it's just that at those higher levels of consciousness the same things we experience here, for example jealousy, strife, war, etc., are perfectly resolved in the play of God's love. That same resolution is here with us now, we just don't see it. It takes work to see it...very deep work, starting with learning to see it within ourselves....the union is there, the love is there, God is there, our soul is there...it just takes work to tap into it.
      Just like relationships take showing up...the simplest thing we have to do is find ways of spending deliberate intimate time with our soul and with divinity. That's how it starts to awaken....in the meantime we have to find ways of doing that while still being very human and very ignorant about the reality we live in. It's humbling!

    • @Ya_Love
      @Ya_Love 4 года назад

      @@Adam-Elenbaas - Thanks Adam.
      What you're writing right here "This is why prioritizing our relationship with divinity helps us to receive the vision of harmony and grace that we need in order to flow through the ups and downs of life, whereas neglecting it puts us into the human realm of justice, which is not actually just at all...it is sometimes just and other times deeply unjust."
      It's a shift in perspective and how we see it. It sill in a sense is an oxymoron, because one asks to turn our minds away from the description of 'just/injust' in an earth-bound sense in the maia, and to transcend it with spirit view, while on the other hand we're here to experience this life in the body and have been incarnated here to being deeply sucked into it.
      It's two-fold , and it looks like it's a really thin line to navigate between both worlds.
      As for my part, I do not see any sense in being here under these circumstances in regards to a true life purpose.
      I also am not latching onto the connotation of what for most is taught about the 'ideal of God'. To me it's nothing separate as some sort of 'male figure sitting in the clouds' you know.
      The idea of God is based in a man-made mental concept and is based in an indoctrination-system to control the masses into obedience basically to the pope. It's been done since ages, and to me it's exactly this destructive principal that has always slandered that what is of true 'god-essence' which is NaTuRe herself, that what truly is.
      No human has created earth, the resources, the sky, the sun, the moon, and the stars etc ... not even the concept of how life came here, how it's built etc ... but it's some FAKE rulers in human form that want to teach about 'what is God!" and what the sheep-herd is to associate with the Divine, which basically to step into slave-ism, self-hatred, and oppression for a man-made hierarchy where about 1% get to kick around the rest while abusing 'god's' divine creatures, so in this sense this world is absolutely god-less and in adversity to what religious gurus and priests are looking to teach, since they too want to sit on top of the throne for adoration. It's actually pretty heretical, you know. .. when in fact any of us have a straight access to connect with the Divine at all times, because life flows through us, which to me is prove enough that there is something much greater than myself, which means it's also much greater than any other being here on earth, so there is no way that any other has a right 'to play god over me', or over anyone else for that matter in a so called Slave System based in a horrific Pyramid SCAM of hierarchy between humans, you know.
      It is absolutely true, when realizing that the only way to become 'enlightened' is to have ones mind shattered so it no longer makes decisions over ones physical life in the body, after all it cannot and will not know what's best for our divinely given temples for that the bio-form has its own intelligence through the cells that its made out of.
      The mind is a mere observer of what is happening all around us, and within us, and in regards to 'free will' I beg to differ a bit. Yes, we can make decisions and it's rooted in 'cause and effect', the law of resonance etc. (the 7 universal laws that are functioning here in this earth-realm, yet this so called 'will' isn't all that of a 'free ride' because there are many, many boundaries, or one could 'will themselves into eternal happiness and bliss' which isn't possible here in this physical form because this body does have limits.
      Saturn as a planet describes this very well.
      Were there true free will, we would not be bound by karma, a life-path so to speak that is basically imprinted in our birth-chart including many characteristics and definitions. So the minute something is defined, it's also fixed, and there is no more 'free will choice to make'. You are bound to the realm of being able to use particular 'tools' so to speak and you may not have access to any others, because the body defines what you are for a life time. This is what the Divine Blue Print is all about, yet the human mind looks to change it, .. in this sense not in acceptance of it, so in a religious sense actually 'defying god'! , you know.
      Yet, it's binary, each imprint has two sides to it, while we still stay on our path, which is uni-directional although one could walk either on lane A or lane B, the direction does not change, you know.
      I am not so concerned about past lives, after all I have no clue what that was like, so I am not burdening my mind with mental trips about it, after all I am here to be present and aware in this life.
      I'm someone who notices that everywhere when there is an effortless flow life truly expands, it's beautiful, just like a flower that blossoms freely and innocently under the sun light. Unfortunately most humans aren't 'free reign' like flowers, which shows up as much restriction and there is a lot more destruction going on rather than letting NaTuRe run it's course, because the human ego-mind is in the way!
      I had written another comment in regards to why I sense that there is A GLITCH in THE MATRIX, not sure if you saw it yet.
      This should make it much more clear.
      The only way to turn this thing around, so that human beings won't have to occupy their minds to find ways to get into a healthy 'feel good mode' constantly, is when the environmental circumstances also in regards to this total life-defeating behavior within the collective society under-goes a paradigm-shift, which is much needed. The less human beings are literally inhibited to live this life in the body basically without extremities of having to fear for their survival the more they will actually be able to blossom like beautiful flowers and to step into their true purpose of what they came here to be. Their time won't be 'wasted' anymore to being stuck in the mind locking to problem-solve how their existence could be a lot less dangerous, but more loving and peaceful, since bodies also exert an auric field, and since that seems to be poisoned on a collective field, there is no 'feeling good' in this world. The minds of men IS the problem, yet it could be the solution as well to all things, if it were used correctly, which is to truly stepping out of the way and to literally eradicate the LEFT-brain overhang of how things are done here. This left-brain control and competitive mind-set is destructive and war-like, and it's not NaTuRal, but a conditioned behavior that starts in the early ages when children are told to go to school! ... School isn't for learning about life and nature but it's about how to lose their individual self into a mass-herd of obedient sheep, not taught HOW to think but what to think and belief, where they are taken away more and more from their internal self, but to only trust outer authority, never to look within, so to being stripped of their true human-ness. It's sad. Then when becoming adults they are merely functioning like humanoids stuck in materialism only, money as their god, totally devoid of a connection to their own life-force-energy, self-loathing people who are bashing others, clubbing them over the head to take the best of them too. It's actually parasitic, you know. I cannot phantom or believe that the Divine had an intention to come up with something like this, when in essence it's self-destructive.
      Something is really off here.... !
      Thanks Adam.
      I still have no clue what's the reason for being here ... but 'hey'! ... looks like none of us truly know. It might take to pass over to the other side to actually get a clue, and even that's not for sure.
      All the Best! :-)

      @@Adam-Elenbaas - I don't disregard a Divine Creator, I just don't like the label 'god' for that it comes with commercial religious connotations in association, which has nothing to do with what the Divine really is.
      Tell a catholic, or a protestant this name, and they will tell you a particular story, personified, focused, made male (while disregarding the feminine principal) which cannot be further from Truth.
      Interesting that yourself as a student of the Bhagavad Gita does not notice this.
      ... hmmmm ...
      In the name of religion the greatest murders against life itself, especially human life has been conducted, which also means that these religions do not even obey their own godly rules, whereas it says 'Thou shalt not kill'!
      So men here literally 'get away with murder', because all they think is that they have to confess to a priest and then keep on doing what they've been doing.

      @@Ya_Love actually, religion isn't the cause of evil, nor has it been the primary force behind most war in our world...it's been greed, consumerism, materialism, lust, etc. Blaming the word "God" or feeling uncomfortable with it, to me, is just an immaturity, which eventually washes away the more we spend time with God (who we refer to as Krishna in the Bhakti tradition). Blaming religion is also immaturity. People use anything and everything in this world as part of the plan to further their own agenda. Taking issue with the word God and the history of religion is something I stopped doing after my undergraduate degree in the history of philosophy and religion...real waste of time, in my opinion. It doesn't show the maturity of a really broad historical understanding of God's presence in culture and history...no offense. Like I said, we're not going to see eye to eye here.

    12th house sun in Aries, fifth house Saturn, moon conjunct Venus, rahu fourth house here - 😔 let me edit to add in response to your intro: this combination has yielded events that have been nothing but continuously horrible. In fact, as much as I love and am fascinated by ancient astrology, the best of its practitioners present on this topic with such a degree of detachment I often turn away from these elucidations because it is not helpful to me in navigating this particular life which has seemed at times engineered toward cruelty. Often astrologers have said “you have a lot of twelfth house work to do.” I am interested to hear an astrologer directly confront combinations which create extremely painful ongoing experiences - schizophrenia, suicide, etc... this is hopelessness and no one has anything to say about it.

    • @Adam-Elenbaas
      @Adam-Elenbaas  4 года назад +3

      I worked as an art therapist with schizophrenics prior to becoming an astrologer. Some of them killed themselves. It's tragic. But this is the realm of karma. If we don't get real about it it's a lot more difficult. But getting real does not mean being detached or cold, if anything it means becoming more compassionate...at the same time, most astrologers are not equipped to help someone dealing with acute mental or physical pain and suffering. That's not really the job of an astrologer, in fact. If a person is dealing with pain and suffering and they want some cosmic/karmic context, great, but for healing/transformation/therapy, etc., I don't personally think astrology is always the best tool to use, unless the astrologer is also a well-trained and well-practiced psychotherapist...which is cool...but to be fair, that is not something we should expect or demand of astrologers because most people don't come to astrologers demanding answers to solving things as acute as what you're describing.

      Adam Elenbaas thank you for replying. It isn’t so much a solution I feel I am missing from astrologers. It is a marrying of the fact that regardless if we intellectually understand and can interpret the karma of a chart, this does not negate the fact that it is a person’s life and for them the suffering is very real and some times urgent. My chart, read by Vedic, Western, and Hellenistic astrologers, contains the signatures of a suicide. If I was an astrologer interpreting a person’s chart that had those things, I believe I would feel the responsibility to provide for them some alternative “way out” even though my role is not therapist and, as you say, that should not be expected of an astrologer. I have heard a few astrologers discuss the way out through trines for instance. Evolutionary astrologers mostly. I disagree with a lot of their interpretations and find ancient astrology more exact but that one thing - the human aspect that this is a real life - the evolutionary astrologers seem to get right. To be fair, the feeling I get when you discuss karma (with detachment, as I perceive it) is the same one I get when I hear Chris Brennan and Vic DiCara discussing it. And to be completely transparent - I have spent much of my free time over the past 18 months studying with all three of you. I have a great degree of respect for all of you. I have looked into Ryan Kurzak and Sam Geppi’s work as well. But to me, that one thing is something none of you address in a manner I find helpful. Is it unfair of me to expect you to? Maybe. But what is the cliche: with great knowledge comes great responsibility? It applies here. If one of the reasons I pursue astrology has been to discover within my own chart a path that would assist me in this life, I have not yet found it. So maybe you are right that it is in spiritual practice and away from the chart that one can find a greater peace. But the danger in discussing karmic signatures I think is to reinforce fatalistic beliefs that one will suffer, one is inclined to suicide, then where is the way out? It would be helpful to have that addressed at the same time, in that instance when hopelessness may be unintentionally reinforced and affirmed by the astrologer, respectfully.

      @@Nofidelityproject well I would personally never tell someone "you are inclined to suicide." And to me, the way out of difficult karma is qualitatively the same for every soul in the Universe: peace, patience, tolerance, love, humility, etc. To me, all material problems are transubstantiated, becoming part of our union with God when the love of God becomes the center of our lives. Birth charts tell us about our karma. The path to resolving that karma in love isn't a matter of finding a trine or a special astrological technique...this is just a rearranging of the lego blocks. The only thing that ultimately helps us is love, the love of God. We find this by becoming servants and by thinking more about loving God, loving others, and loving all experiences, and not by trying to fix or solve "my" problems. These are not solutions provided in the birth chart. The best a birth chart can do is describe the good and bad karma, the ups and downs...it's up to us to make those experiences sacred...the path to doing that is the same...it's always love. Of course, the language of astrology is here to HELP us love our experiences....astrology helps us to see our experiences in the light of heaven...that's not just an intellectual thing...and it's also not about being detached.

      Michelle C. This makes a lot of assumptions about what I believe and have experienced, most of which are not accurate, but thank you for the commentary.

    Why would someone want to change their karma? Isn’t our karma what we came here to work on?

      Many people don't like their lives or the circumstances of their lives and so they try to change them. The alcoholic doesn't like being a drunk, so he goes to AA. The unpopular kid tries to be liked. Etc. In this way, people are always reaping the results of previous actions and constantly trying to change conditions or consequences that they are still living with. It's not a big mystery. Karma is literally just a chain of choices and their outcomes, endlessly. The big myth of the new age is that there is something here that can or should be perfected. You can become a better bowler or a better person, but you will still die and be reborn, that's the idea. Finding a different dimension of experience, of happiness, means getting out of thinking that either working on our karma, perfecting it, or getting rid of it altogether, is the answer. This is what ancient astrologers taught.

      @@Adam-Elenbaas But then aren't we conflating our karma with our experience of our karma? We don't want to change our karma (or at least we shouldn't focus on changing our karma because that's not really up to us) but we want to change our experience of our karma, i.e., how skillfully and intentionally and playfully we engage with our experiences.

      Right...we want to shift our consciousness in relation to the stream of choices/outcomes we are caught up in...toward love/divinity, which transubstantiates all choices, outcomes, manipulations and permutations of karma, into spirit. Astrology is a language that participates in that shift because it helps us to identify the karmic changes in terms of eternal/archetypal/heavenly/unborn/undying symbols.

      @@Adam-Elenbaas Would you say that the shift has an impact on the actual "karma of things" that we experience in our life? Like even the things we have no obvious control over in 3D?

    • @Adam-Elenbaas
      @Adam-Elenbaas  4 года назад

      @@helenplass9875 of course! The bi-product of cultivating the consciousness of love is that we start making choices that more closely resemble the reality of love...so yeah, our material reality becomes more "sattvic," which is to say it becomes more reflective of love, peace, patience, tolerance, humility....for example, we may start to change our diets, our relationships, our habits, behaviors, patterns...which may have tons of really beneficial/enjoyable/beautiful outcomes...it may also shift previous karma and hence change the delivery of certain transits, etc. The point is that if this level of change is the goal...then we're no better than someone trying to look good in yoga pants...you know? The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing...love! :) For this reason the yogic scriptures tell us that many enjoyable things, and liberation from pain and suffering itself, are often the servants of those who are focused on love, and yet, if enjoying those things means taking our focus off love and back to self-indulgence, we couldn't care less for those things. Love is better than even "good" karma, in other words...though good karma may in fact come to serve us as we shift our consciousness. Hope this makes sense.
