- Unquestionably one of the strongest men to have walked the planet. We've seen him lift, squat, press, throw and run his way to a colossal amount of victories - including 4 WSM titles.
Where does BRIAN SHAW rank in the all time greats of STRONGMAN in your opinion?
Can 2020 mark a record equaling 5th WSM title?
Even before his first WSM win, he was dominating events - as this clip from London 2011 shows - GIANT CIRCUS DUMBBELL for reps - 100kg / 220lbs and ATLAS STONES - a young BRIAN blasted away the opposition and took the Giants Live crown.

People often say that pressing is one of Brian's weaknesses, but when it comes to Dumbell he's always been world class. I think it's because of how tactical and meticulous he is with how he approaches each event; he's got amazing form on the dumbbell to be sure
Well pressing is his weakness but a weakness for Brian Shaw means being the 3rd or 4th best in the world instead of 1st or 2nd
He worked on his weaknesses though. He has been benching lately
but he said deadlift is his weakest event.
@@anjanadilshan7057 I'm talking about his career as a whole, deadlift used to be his best event and only since the 2019 Arnold has it become his weakest, whereas his pressing was never world class even in his prime (with the exception of dumbbell)

The Lalas interview at the end really made me smile, was great to see such a great man have such humility.
Brian no doubt throughout his career is one the most famous strongmen of all time. And one of the best. If he wins his 5th wsm title this year I’ll consider him and big z as equal
He already have the same quantity of wsm than Big Z, the record of 5 is of Mariusz Pudzianowski
But he won't. He might never win the WSM again.
I mean, he was robbed of his 5th WSM already. They didn't have outlined rules for a tie and just gave it to Big Z.

Just took me back as well i remember shaw being not only the underdog but kinda didn't have a chance but it was just cause he was so young he came a long way but after years of watching i kinda forget who my favorite from usa was before him seeing poundstone is bringing it all back

I think Big Z, taking into account everything, has to be top. His accomplishments are unsurpassed.
But Brian is right up there. 4x WSM, 3x Arnold's winner. We also forget that he tied with Z in WSM 2010, but lost on countback.
A super huge, super strong guy with incredible longevity, and a true pro.

I am a fan boy so take that as you will, but I definitely agree. His form in performance was impeccable and looked easy. Even his deadlift was monstrous.

It's so hard to answer that question because it's a sport and one that requires a million different variables, that being said... Yes, Brian Shaw is the strongest man to ever do it. And would have 5 WSM titles if his tie breaker would have been settled the same way that they are today. It's wild that he would have 5 titles if that tie would have happened today. He's fun to watch and I thoroughly enjoy his RUclips channel as well.

@@NSD-fp9qj What lifts have Brian or Z got over Thor? Thor has the heaviest powerlifting squat out of all these guys. The only lift I can think of is Z beating him overhead, but that's literally it. Probably squat for reps but Brian absolutely not lmao 😂 That's static lifts, 2018-20 Thor beats all of them at overall strongman. Z greatest ever but that doesn't make you the strongest and its impossible to see properly considering we never got to see Thor against them in his absolute prime. Although he was 0.5 points to 2 points of winning wsm multiple times BEFORE he was at his best. Says it all.
@Draggy654 Brian has never looked comfortable over 460kg on any deadlift tbh mate, just watch them and he's regularly torn hamstrings over a thousand pounds. VERY much doubt he could hit 1100, I'm not slating the guy but not gonna pretend he's come close. Lmao right, it was calibrated weights weighed on camera and watched by the world and checked by Magnus, the strictest referee in strongman, IN person. Pretending it wasnt real is quite honestly ridiculous.
