I've asked myself the same question and have done some research. A well explained answer to a good question. Thank you Scott. Your videos never disappoint me.
Good info! I always figured a polisher would over heat vinyl.
I hand polished using griots and then sealed with Chemical Guys VRP and then buffed. This was for matte vinyl and it looked great
Again good stuff Scott
Hi Scott, I wish we had somebody like you hear in ny. Honest and great work. Thanks for your vidoes
Larry Kosilla? I think?
Thank you 4 sharing very good information
Great lesson learned
What compound did you use on your vinyl stripes? Thank you in advance
I think you could also hand rub them too. A little more elbow grease, but I have hand polished clear in small areas and it works there so, why not on the vinyl?
can you apply the polish without using the machine to polish but by hand using application pad then wipe it off? Thanks
How do address the area between the stripes? Thanks
What kind of polish do you use
How do you clean matte vinyl stripes?
Carefully

Hi Scott, awesome videos thanks.I have a ute with vynal signwriting on it and would like to know how you polish the paint and the vynal at the same time? The vynal doesn't need polishing but would get in the way.Thanks.
You polish over the vinyl, using NO pressure and fast speed. Simply because you don't want to remove the coloring off of the vinyl... And yes that happens, learned the hard way by polishing the Z71 emblems on my Silverado.
are the Z71 emblems vinyl or more like a plastic sticker?...those sticker type graphics can be replaced and very cheap to buy and easy to remove...im not sure i have ever tried to polish them...but now i know not to..lol...thanks Trent:)
Hi Scott, love your videos, one off topic question what brand/model of microfiber wash mitt do you use to wash the car
i like the ones that are soft:)...i will be making a video about wash mitts and the ones i use very soon...much love James
I look forward to that video
What about reflective vinyl ?
What is the throw style on your common Porter Cable 7424XP compared to the one in this video?
Same throw, but PC has less torque, I believe.
I've been wondering (and worrying) about this for a while. I have more swirls in my stripes than my paint. Thanks for addressing it. What "fine" polishes are recommended?
Aaron Wilkerson try griots perfecting cream or sonax perfect finish.
what about Matte black vinyl stripes?
JUST A NOTE DO NOT DO THIS ON A MATTE VINYL STRIPS!! Scott should have said only GLOSSY! You destroy the matte vinyl!!!
Will it destroy the vinyl or make is glossy?
I have matte stripes. How do you clean them?
My friend you are totally wrong are you a professional detailer? Have you ever tried? The truth is that you can actually polish matte wrapp to make it look even again in case of light stains or wax that have been applied by mistake. So the answer is YES YOU CAN POLISH MATTE VYNIL WRAP however has to he also a very fine finishing polishing and medium polishing pad
@@wventrice you can clean them with alcohol mix with water alcohol 70% and water 30%
And if is stains dont go away go with the same process Scott did
What wax is that
Scott, have you ever dealt with spilt stinky milk in a car? How would you go about cleaning and disinfecting the area? I had a customer ask for this service and I had to turn down the job because I'd never done it before. Appreciate any help.
Easy!
Meg's APC 4/1 /w Carpet Extractor making sure you remove ALL of the milk.
Then go behind it with a product like Biozyme or Valuguard Odor Terminator or even Meguiar's Protein Stain Remover to chemically kill the milk bacteria.
That's it, make sure you can soak the fabric down far enough to actually remove the smell and make sure your Biozyme/whatever gets down far enough into the seat to eat at the smell.
Thanks, Trent (great name). Scott shared a video about stinky interiors in June. Here's his link ruclips.net/video/68p0LT8yvlo/видео.html
Up to a point. Once oxidised they will never look good. Paint em on or dont bother Yinyl stripes are junk.
What are those orange towels you're using? I know you made a video on them before but I can't seem to find it.
secret:)...i will send you a text later Trent
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing ,Oh its a secret?
no not really but it would be no good to discuss them because they come from a very small local towel store...if you guys live in a big town or city, you should checkout local stores that just sell towels, rags and microfiber towels for awesome deals and great towels
What polish are you using on the stripes Scott?
Todd Dyer i was using a polish you can't buy on a retail level or through a detailing supply house..it's a true pro product purchased through a auto body supply house. .but any fine polish would work like meguiars m205 or something similar
Can you wax it
Play it safe. Do it by hand.
A good thing to do with vinyl Stripes is to put a clear bra on them, that way they have a protective coating on them that it's a lot more protective than any Wax. Plus if you buy a good quality clear bra, even if it does get scratched the good ones you can use a heat gun to take the scratch out. And when it becomes so bad that you can't take the scratches out of it, you can always remove it and put another clear bra on it. The clear bra on them should last a minimum of six years.
and yet i get calls all day long to remove scratches from clear bras:)...go figure
It’s an 8mm throw!
Webster Slaughter yes thank you for the correction. Hey im human and i said 8 inch throw..lol..could you imagine that kind of throw..lol..sorry for my brain fart but i think most understood what i was trying to say:)
I am not an expert by no means, but I have a real problem with the term "Paint Correction", you are not correcting paint - that would mean a re-spray, you are only addressing "Clear Coat Correction" if paint needs correcting the only way is remove clear coat and respray. I didnt know you could do this with Vinyl and will look into it, thnx
What about a clear bra?
Hey Scott.... sure would be nice to see the in perfection before. Just saying. This is all lip service.
