Hey Scott. You taught me more in all videos than my boss in my two years detailing. You are my mentor. Have a good one 👍🏼
Another excellent video, thanks Scott! I used what you have taught on my Black H-D Heritage and it is stunning. I had a guy walk up to me at the gas station last weekend and ask WTF do you use on your paint dude it looks like black liquid LOL!
what do you use?
I’ve been in the game for almost 9 years and I can’t believe I never even thought of this. Thanks Scott, I’ll definitely be using this on my next job.

Justin Meyer must be a heavy 5-6 seconds 😂
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343
8,7sec for black pad
9,5sec on orange pad
9,8 sec on yellow pad
you have to meet excactly those numbers to get the results, or else you will burn and melt the paint
......:) :) :)
Love you sir..............
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 Scott are you just taking a break from RUclips? Or are you done?
Tried the Griots you recommended, worked great. I finished with Turtle wax hybrid ceramic spray. I've always been confused as to what I use after. Do I have to stay with that type of product for upkeep, or can I use a wax on top of it? Is there a benefit to layering? Thx
Dang 3 months no video. What’s going on?
Loved it Scott, thank you and bless you for these beginner tutorials! Would you recommend a consumer med cut polish for me? I’ve had good luck with megs ultimate compound on my black optimahybrid daily commuter poc lol. Haven’t tried the UP tho. Love ya Scott keep ‘em coming man ur awesome.
Where did you go Scott?
I've never brought this up before. That's the way I have always done it. Saves a lot of time.
Your one of those guys I see😝
Scott, have you tried or tested out the product Bilt Hamber wash/products? Just wondering if it's the 'best' as they say
Really helpful enjoy your videos Scott!

It's been 3 months since hearing from Scott. What's happening??

Where u been Scott?
Hi Thanks so much. I have a regular Griots machine and am searching for the right pad/compound for a large RV I am thinking 3D One with orange pad. Any thoughts are highly appreciated
Hello Scott, hate to bother you but I need some advice; I have a 32-foot CLASS A-RV- THE FRONT AND REAR "CAPS" ARE fiberglass- the rest of the RV is painted with an "offwhite paint-" not a Gelcoat!! the body" has NO CLEAR COAT THE PAINT IS TERRIBLY THIN-YEAR OF RV 2003- I have no-less then $1500 dollars in paint correction products from 3m -FARECLA,-AND SEVERAL OTHER INDUSTRY LEADERS; I have wet sanded/ da sanded, very carefully and have applied a 2k primer followed with a "single-stage tinted white paint to match the other older paint-"NASSON SINGLE STAGE-I applied 3 wet coats (1 day ago the average temperature is in the high 70 to mid 80,s humidity about 49% daily average-I have full can of "DIAMOND" FINISH-WHICH CAN BE SPRAYED? OR WOULD YOU ADVISE A 2K CLEAR? OR would you recommend a finishing compound or polish and what pad/finishing or foam pad would you use?? sorry for the lengthy inquiry; appreciate any advice you might render me,PJP
Great video as always Scott!
Thank you for all your tips!
Auesome! Love when you do paint correction videos. Keep them coming
Wow very impressive information, thank you Scott.!!!! 🤙
Where has Scott been? We need more videos
Pretty sure he's been pretty busy with all the new products on his website. Love his towels. Also just picked up some Marolex sprayers from him recently. Glad his site has done well.
Thanks for this video . Very helpful! I am getting a 2023 Corvette in about a month and wanted to do a 1 step correction. I have the Porter Cable da, and was thinking of using Koch Chemie micro cut. Is that the right way to go?
But what about the compounds themselves. You could add a more aggressive compound teamed up with the black pad and be in the middle to right? Or add it with the orange. Couldn’t that give you the same results as well. I do like this approach but it doesn’t stop there. That’s figuring out one compound with 3 pads but you could also do 3 polishes with one pad in a way as well right?
I just recently went through a one on one polishing class with an expert at Griot’s garage. He was telling me that when you first start out polishing with a dry pad, you should first wet the entire surface of the pad with a light coating of the compound/polish your using prior to running the pad over the paint. Basically never put a dry pad on the paint. Any thoughts? Thx
They gave you sound advice but I don't see a difference with priming the pad or not.
Totally up to you
Excellent Videos Scott - I've learned SO much from your teaching. Thank You for all you do !!! I understand this is an older video... Hopefully someone or yourself can answer how one cleans their (expensive brushes) with caked on black break dust and everything else that one cleans off dirty wheels - I've used the actual cleaner foam from Eagle One, Dawn dish soap and a mixture of microfiber cleaner with a laundry detegent with little progress soaking them for days??!? Thanks again for all that you do.. Please keep going at it !!!!!

This is very practical. Even more practical - just use the orange pad. :)
Kamerad for real lolololol
Hey Scott. Love the channel!
Thanks for all of your great advice.
I have just purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 Lariat Special Edition.
Do you have any recommendations for removing the factory decals?
There is a huge one on the hood and also down the sides.
Genius! Wow. I didn't see that one coming. Thanks Scott for yet another great tip and tutorial. You are the best.
Guys. Let me know. What pad is he using? Is that medium cut pad or polishing pad?
Scott! You’re the man!! I would work or train under you in a heart beat!! Aloha from Hawaii!! Excellent video!🌴🌊
I am a pro detailer in the North Central part of Ohio. I am looking for an experienced detailer in the area who wants to work as I have tons of clients and an ultra-prime location. I have a 3 bay shop connected to an actual car wash tunnel as well as self serv bays at a busy intersection. Nobody wants to work and the one's that do have zero experience and can't lay off the sauce. My calendar stays booked 2 weeks out with 2 gigs a day. I can't keep up with the demand. Now the next few months are my slowest of the year as you would expect with the holidays and winter weather. But come March I need a right-hand man to knock these gigs out the box.
Wow wish you were in nyc
Love your videos! Thanks so much for your help!!
SCOTT,, love your videos brother watching from the UK.. A quick question for you please, can i do a couple of panels a day, I'm a busy man a single perent so i don't have all day to give my car a 1 step witch is all it needs, unless i pay a pro detailer witch i was going to do but I'd like to try my self with my DA, so can i do say the front end one day, bonnet plus both wings
Day 2 passsnger door to the end where the bumper starts, 3rd day
Drivers do then the rest of the side,
3rd day, roof
4th day, rear end? Thank you, ow and iv got meguiar's cutting pad meguiars ultimate compound plus meguiar's ultimate polish then finish with meguiar's liquid wax?? What do you think of my idea? My cars a golf gti mk5 tornado red, very good bright red with no fade(no pink Ness) always garaged and only 2nd owner, light swerl marks and no scratches.. Thanks Scott hope to get a reply 👍
Of course you can do that,I Will probably also do it like that.
How much do you typically charge for a 1 step paint correction
Great video Scott I tried a microfibre pad on my car with a medium polish a ford kuga it left a little haze changed to a medium foam pad it worked better
I used that orange pad and it put light swirls on my car. Now I apply with hand only.
Hope Scott comes back soon. I hope the best for him and his business 👍👍
Damn this was an awesome video! You killed it yet again, but am I the only one that wants to see your 3 spots lol
Great method Scott, I'm just getting into doing my own paint correction and I have a "test car" so to speak (my mother's minivan that's always been tube washed) so this will definitely help me figure out which pad to use. Appreciate all your time and info!
I took some Vinyl decals off my truck using a heat gun. I noticed that there was some adhesive left, so I used alchohol and an sponge. I scrubbed it with the rough side. After I noticed that paint lost it shine. How do i it paint to shine or look glossy again? Thanks
Grab some polish and a microfiber applicator off thats not enough use a compound
I have information overload,!!!Scott-PJP
He spent 11 mins repeating the same thing over and over again...
In your youtube videos on your youtube chanell use script.
Excellent tip 👍
Hey Scott when will we get the griots g9 review?
Hopefully soon..
It's a good polisher but it has a few problems😞
Trying to get motivated to do my first paint enhancement
genius
Anyone know what happened to Scott?
Hi Scott. You hit this one out of the ball field. What a simple idea encompassing an everyday issue. As usual, you brought it down to a simple fix which virtually everyone could understand! Thanks!!!
This is basically Yvan Lacroix's 5-5-5 method for removing/hiding deep scratches. 5 lbs of pressure for 5 seconds on speed 5. It works well.
Some of us have know what Yvan knows and much more.
Yvan is a great guy but does he method or process include different pads?
Many of us pros have known this method forever.
It's old news to me
I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't saying that you're ripping him off or anything. I'm just saying you guys use a similar method, and that it's effective. It's a versatile technique.
You weren't born in Dallas. You're Alan Alda.
Scott can you please get straight to the point!
As usual thanks for the video Scott very helpful
The 5x5x5 technique I forget his name
Great video Scott vas always I learned something
Hey Scott, I’m working on a Black Audi right now and the paint looks great in the garage, even under my halogen work light. I used a DA polisher with an Orange Hex Pad with M105 and then finished it with a White Hex Pad with M205, it looks amazing.
But once I bring it into the sunlight, I see a bunch of holograms, almost looks like towel drying marring? I’ve been using brand new 80/20 microfiber towels.. idk what could be the issue. Any thoughts?
This video has been so helpful honestly... thank you so much really helped me understand more things! I have the same products so im guessing 1 step you use the F6 and 2 steps use the H9 THEN the M3 what about after M3 you add something or leave it be if the customer didnt ask for say a ceramic coating ?
Scott???
Keep them coming...going to get your product soon
TIL peas are huge in Dallas
Followed your "beginners guide" and wow! Why was I worried about tackling this? Amazing results! Thanks, from Plano.
Hello Scott, what are your experiences with Ford paint? Soft or hard? What would be your recommendation for polishing pads and polishing compound?I have a 2012 Ford Fiesta.
Thanks in advance and greetings from Croatia.
this trick can be used also to help us choose, polish, compound or AIO product for sertain scenario?
lets say i have only orange pads availiable, but i have 2 AIO products..........or maybe 2 ,1 step products to choose and i dont have much experience.....of....can i do the same but instead that changing pads .....change products?
Great explanation. I also like what you said in a previous video about using light cut polish before trying medium or deep cutting polishes
Hey Scott, are you familiar with clay bar treatment? And If so, would you recommend using it along with compound? Thank you in advance
scott.. in one word... Thanks
That’s about 10 seconds
Happy new year and I wish you a creative and positive life for 2020. Big respect from the U.K.
blessing 2 find this man
I live in Scotland, UK and this is my new favourite channel!!! Can I ask you a question? I am new to detailing and bought my first DA polisher although I've not used it yet. Do you put 3 pea size amounts of product on the pad every time you start a new section after doing the 5 passes with the DA? Thank you.
Great video thanks again
Awesome video. I'm glad I haven't finished my car. I need to assess my equipment before I proceed. Thanks Scott
Great vids, very informative. How would you compound/wax/ polish a vehicle with racing stripes? I heard you have to avoid them, but there has to be a technique. Thanks.
Hi sir I have a basic Griots machine and need to remove oxidation in 30 fifth wheel. I’m thinking of using 3D one and orange pads. Any thoughts for me a newbie are much appreciated.
Scott, thank you for sharing all your tips and information. I only polish my own car, but without you, I would overthink everything.
Greeting
Robert from Norway 😃
Man this helps me so much. Thanks for sharing Scott
Hey Scott- What was the name of the polish compound you were using on this video? I couldnt catch the name. Thanks
I really enjoy your vids!
Fuck I wish you were in LA

Nice explanation, how much did you pay Ray Ramano to narrate this video? 🤔

Sorry Scott it wasn't a few months ago it was Nov 2017. Are you still using that 360 mister??
I am absolutely disgusted with how much sense this makes. KEEP IT UP!
This taught me a lot!!
Hi Scott,
I have been following you since recently purchased an Audi A4.
I would like to know what would be the prep for a one step paint correction when the vehicle that I bought has been ceramic coated.
Truly enjoying your channel and learning a lot
