This is my first FlossTube video and my first Video in general! So I’m a little nervous about it.
Any tips and tricks about cross stitching or video stuff or how to better make this description section would be great! I know I was very nervous and forgot some things! But that just means more for the next video!

Welcome to the Flosstube world. The ending of your thread is called "waste knots". It is a good method. To deal with the large fabric on big pieces. Some use Q-snaps and grime guards. They stuff the extra fabric in grime guard. I have not tried that. I just let it hang down. I find a q-snap gives me a larger work area. Now off to watch your next video. Oh and I added "A Pirates Life" to my wishlist. I am also doing Astrology Cat. I think the artist's first name is pronounced Cheero.

Welcome to Floss tube!!! Great job on your first one! One of my favorite things that I use for my full coverage pieces to control fabric is grime guards, you can get them the size of whatever frame you want, and they are super customizable! I like to get them with a theme that matches the project. Etsy is where I found all of mine. And then I have also made a coupe. They are pretty easy to make.

30:22 you should add the date to your swatches ring. DMC dye lots change over the years so it’ll be interesting to see how they change

Great intro to your awesome projects! Your solar system stitches are amazing (yay for Pluto). I am also a space and sci-fi gal...really wanted to do Space Camp as a kid. 😅 I have been wanting to do a solar system stitch for a while. Thank you for the inspiration! Heck yeah space!! Space camp would have been so fun! I had to just do the science Channel on TV haha! And do a space themed stitch! Black isn't tooo hard to stitch on, if you have enough light

Welcome to Flosstube! I've been around for 6 months now and it still sometimes feels a bit weird to sit and talk to myself :)
The weirdest part first me is if my roommates or boyfriend comes down stairs when I'm trying haha I talk to myself all the time but not in front of people! Haha
Your channel got recommended to me by a friend because “adhd and dnd” and I am so happy about it! I laughed so hard at “I remember doing it but I don’t remember doing it”, it’s a perfect representation of my life 😂 Great first video! Cannot wait to see more!!!

Such a great video. You have so many wonderful projects. It’s going to be fun to see your progress on them. I use magnetic ties off of Amazon to wrangle my fabric. I don’t recall the brand but if you are interested I can tell you. Also your dmc swatch idea is so cool. I never would have thought of that.

Good to 'meet' you CeCe. Love your Swatch idea, looks beautiful too. Back in the '80's(yes I'm that old lol) I taught myself from library books. Noby around me stitches so the Flosstube community keeps me company. When I picked it back up the whole cross stitch world had changed. There was more than Aida. My whole world changed when I found Flosstube. Aimee Stewart has stunning patterns. I love the two you have going. I look forward to seeing your next video. Stay safe🤗🇬🇧

Ceci, great flosstube. I don't use pattern keeper, but I've started keeping track of percent finished by entering the project into an Excel spreadsheet. I put the date started, total number of stitches, stitches finished in one sitting and calculated the percent done.
That sounds like a good idea! I just have stats for my patterns in pattern keeper. My brother made an excel spreadsheet entry sheet for me to record how long I stitched to track that!

Congratulations on your first flosstube! It was great! Loved seeing all of your projects! Silicone magnetic cord ties make great side tensioners too. I usually just tie them in knots to make them a little smaller and use two or three on each side! I haven’t had a bird in many years, but I am definitely a bird person too ♥️ Happy stitching!
The magnetic cords i have are so weak. They couldn't hold anything but themselves and a needle. I think I got the wrong brand?
@@VulcanStitcher1701 oh man! There are so many brands out there! I looked back at my purchase history and I use the Smart&Cool (lol) brand. They are very strong, but a little long. I just tie knots in them until they get to the length I like. ♥️

Hi! I'm Laura. I live across the way from you in Ontario Canada. I grew up right across from Port Huron. I live right between Toronto and Niagara Falls. I'm turning 50 at the end of the month. I also play D & D and like video games. I've cross stitched for 40 ish years. I just started my biggest project. The HP stained glass. Its about 20x30 inches with over 300k stitches. Welcome. Lovely projects. I l9ve the small hoops with the planets. I am curious to know what you use to grid your fabric.
On the planets, so black, I use white thread from a bobbin that won't fit in my sewing machine :) on light colors I use a teal thread spool I got from a craft store. It's my favorite color haha
