- Hi everyone … here is my first flosstube.
I am not very technical so hopefully my rubbish editing is okay 😂
I will try my best to reply to any comments … when i learn how too 😂🫣

I am so glad your video popped up, I loved your first FlossTube. I love listening to you talk, your accent just draws me in. Your projects are absolutely beautiful. I love the colors of your Fruits of Plenty. I also have it, it’s been kitted up for more than a year. One of these days I will get it started. I just have so many WIPS, I am afraid to count them all. You've done a fab job! Don't boil your Aida. I'm not sure if it would discolouration your black fabric. Just gently hand launder in worm warm with a gentle laundry soap. Let dry and iron. Enjoy!
They used to make plastic coasters that snapped together...I've been stitching 50+ years though.

I've been told off a few people commenting not to boil the aida so I promise I won't haha 🙈🙈 I still haven't taken it out of the packet yet so you never know it might not be too bad ... I have seen the plastic coasters that snap together they are the 90mmx90mm ones and because the pattern isn't square and the stitch count is odd we all just couldn't work out how to make it fit without having to do it on a teeny tiny count like 40 which is no good for my eyes 🤣🤣 .. I have a plan B though hopefully you will see on my next video xxx

We are the absolute same person! I’m an icu nurse that worked through lockdown as well and that’s when I started stitchin! And I would stitch everything that you showed. Well done on your first flosstube, can’t wait to see ya back❤

I had to smile as you started with your wips, I have stitched Bonded by the Rain, now on my wall, and Dark Queen of the Sea, now on my granddaughter's wall, and Fairy Irridescence is one of my wips!! I am also a nurse, although now retired! You are so right about stitching being a big destressing tool. Hi, you did a wonderful job on your 1 RUclips. I subscribed already. 😊 If you don't have a sewing machine to serve your fabric, you can always use something called Fray Check. It's by a company named Dritz. I have been using it for over 40 years. You can even wash the fabric and it won't fray. 😊

I used to be a picture framer and you can get an 18x24 frame at hobby lobby.

Re: softening Aida. I'm in the States and recently used a weak dilution of Dawn dishwashing liquid in tepid water to soak a small piece of white DMC 14 ct overnight. I'd estimate a half gallon of water and a half teaspoon of Dawn -- it was a small piece from a DMC kit, so that was plenty of liquid for it to stay completely submerged. I rinsed it thoroughly the next day and hung it to dry. It was markedly softer and the holes do not seem to have pulled closer at all.
UPDATE: Eek, don't boil your Aida! It will shrink up and tighten and you'll lose all the openness of the weave! (Ask me how I know. And that time, I was just using scalding hot tap water.)
