I'm glad we're getting the higher quality animatronics but the big question is how many will we get? Splash had tons, I fear we will have far fewer in this new version and a reliance on the dreaded screens to make up for all the missing physical animatronics.

There’s a lot of misinterpretation of what Disney *said* - what they said is to expect 17 brand new characters…That excludes animatronics (and their multiples) of Tiana, Louis, Naveen, Mama Odie, Charlotte, Big Daddy, etc. 17 NEW characters, which could have multiple animatronics as well - and, I imagine there will be frogs and whatnot that aren’t included in the character count. From what inside sources have confirmed, it’s dozens. Maybe not *as many* as Splash, but Splash counted barely moving things towards their AA count.

Read that in her voice and kinda love that. She’s such a great princess. It’s annoying how much hate already is being thrown at this because largely extremely racist people. Yes people (including myself) loved the original ride but I do fully understand the huge issue with it being based on a film that is very problematic as far as racism. I do hope so much they are making this ride incredible. They need to understand if it’s not to the standard of the original, if not only will get more hate, but almost validate the racist people hating on it already… unfortunately.

As much as I look forward to seeing Tiana's Bayou Adventure, I think that replacing Splash Mountain was an absolutely unnecessary change. Why tear it down? All because of a stupid, outdated controversial link with the so-called "racist" movie "Song of the South"? It's getting old and tiresome, man! I think Tiana's should be moved to a different spot and Splash Mountain should be rebuilt. Tokyo Disneyland kept Splash Mountain, so why shouldn't US Disneyland do the same? Everything should be back to the way it was before! Please bring back Splash Mountain!🙏🏻

You know which land the Disneyland version should be in: Both... have it be in both as it sits on the border. They're making sure it works in both. Heck the Imagineers and Cast Members can have fun with people asking the question "Is this ride supposed to be in Critter County or New Orleans Square?" by answering "Yes" and if they need a real answer just say "It's a bridge between the two lands."
This doesn't work for Disney World, obviously, but for Disneyland... doesn't need to be in one land... it can be in both.

I think people who are upset about Tiana's being in Frontierland are forgetting that Splash Mountain was set in Georgia (if going by the movie). Not exactly the frontier, so there's always been a distinctly non-western and specifically southern section in the middle. And then the Country Bears are supposed to be from Tennessee as well.
I do get the argument that it stands out aesthetically since Splash had the more red western desert look (kind of loving the green/flowers though). But there's always been a non-western/southern themed thing there, this isn't new. What is new is a much better understanding of the context and impact of the source material. On the theme park side of things, another opportunity for people to go on a thrill ride with an ongoing story in the dark ride portion (I enjoyed the song, but I feel like this will have more of a story flow). Plus character representation - you can go to a meet and greet with Tiana in the park so you have better connections to the other lands and actually go talk to her about her attraction, which will be cool.

While I am adamantly opposed to what they’ve done to Splash Mountain, I wouldn’t mind expanding the New Orleans theme, since it is a strong and very atmospheric one, and would fit the Haunted Mansion in between. However, if you don’t think that the current “woke” management won’t use this as an opportunity to get rid of Frontierland entirely, you’re not paying attention. I have zero doubt that these politically correct zealots view Frontierland as “white man’s colonizer land”, and will look for any opportunity to de-emphasize or completely eliminate it. Also think about Main Street USA for a moment, and compare that to some of the far left wacko statements that have come out of Disney management. I think it also stands out as a giant exception to their “diversity” at all costs cultural jihad. Don’t think they would ever destroy Main Street? Just wait and watch. They’re completely out of control, and unfortunately the best hope for Walt’s rapidly vanishing legacy at this point is for the company’s recent financial collapse to continue, and for Nelson Peltz, with the assistance of perhaps someone like Elon Musk, to launch a hostile takeover and put a full-stop to the “woke” garbage.
As for the cutting-edge animatronics, I’m always in favor of Disney using the best technology available, something they used to do routinely. However, I think we all know how long that will last before they break, ala the Yeti and Kylo Ren, with the ride running in “B mode” forever after that.
The Peltz hostile takeover effort aside, if I could have one wish it would be for the Oriental Land Company to take over Disney. That would eliminate both the cancer of wokeness and penny-pinching quality compromises in one fell swoop, as OLC has no use for either of them.
The Tokyo parks are widely recognized as far and away the best Disney parks in the world, and it’s because they revere and maintain Walt’s commitment to high quality, and they have zero use for divisive and frankly evil “woke” political correctness. You certainly won’t find bizarre bearded guys in drag working at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique there. The fact that I even had to type such a sentence is the best illustration of how degenerate all of Disney has become. Thank God for the Japanese and their apparent immunity to the woke mind virus.

Thanks fresh baked for keeping the Disney magic alive despite the disaster that the Disney company has got themselves into. I hope this new top-shelf animatronic In Tiana's is a sign of things to come for Disneyland. Disney needs to replace all the low-rent projected animatronics in the park, namely Constance Hatchaway in the Haunted Mansion and Buzz in Astro Blasters. They're embarrassingly cheap looking and obviously Disney knows how to do better. This is a perfect time for them to replace Constance while the HM is shut down for 6 months.

That’s real nice to have new animatronics and all and I do hope it looks beautiful, but I don’t follow this expanded idea of changing up critter country. I sure hope they leave Winnie the Pooh’s area untouched. And am I the only one who thinks the tower should have the actual name of the ride on it versus “Tiana’s foods”?

Pooh was never a good fit in Critter Country. It would not have been a good fit for the previous Bear Country. The reason was the area was meant to be an appropriate sub-land for Frontierland, as New Orleans Square was for Adventureland and Toontown was for Fantasyland. These sub lands were purposely not given generic land names (Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland) but themes specific to an attraction. Bear Country obviously for Bear Country Jamboree, a good fit within Frontierland which was what the area was part of originally. With the removal of Jamboree and Southern theme of the flume ride, Disney lost any connection to Frontierland. If you want to talk about "rules set" then the entire area should be themed appropriate for the flume ride, the Bayou, like New Orleans Square was for Pirates. Pooh belongs next to Peter Pan, Mr. Toad and Alice. No one looks at a bunch of stuffed animals walking around in the woods and thinks critters. And Mermaid in DCA, seriously?

Hmmm, imo expect the 'critters' to populate Critter Country (up to 'meet-and-greets')...
eventually taking over the Pooh ride...

the many adventures ride is out of place in critter country. That should have gone behind big thunder to be closer to fantasyland. If they are going to expand New orleans square into a new ride then they need to go all out and make it flow better. Taking the hungry bear and making that into Tiana Palace even if it was a quick service meal would have made more sense being closer to the ride. Disneyland just want to stick them rides in any spot they can without thinking about if it makes sense. Tommrowland is a great example of rides that don't fit in a land called tommorowland.
