I am Polish and I grew up reading books on which the Witcher games are based. Each time I see a non-Polish channel talking about the franchise, my heart swells with pride. Seeing a Polish property inspiring others, even outside boundaries of our country shows that you don't need to be American in order to do great things. I hope that one day I too will do something that will move and inspire people of different nationalities.
In my opinion The Witcher series have the best stories Sir Andrzej Sapkowski did a really good job in writing the stories. for me they are legends Him and J.R.R Tolkien
Lol who the hell said you had to be American to do something great? Is that what they teach you over there? Because in the US all we’re taught is how terrible we are and how we’ve never done anything of merit.
You are mistaken in one regard. Attack on Kaer Morhen took place long before Geralt's amnesia. It was a ruin even during the action of the books. Home only to Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel, Geralt, and Coen who wasn't even a Wolf School witcher.
YummyBlade YT right?? Its prob the most well known quest since its DAYMMMM GOOD and near the start. Lot better than the griffin arc in my opinion atleast.
This is incredible. Not only is the lore so rich and down-to-Earth, despite its mythical, magical context, but your narration and descriptions of the landscape are so elegant and vivid, I didn't even need to watch the video. Hell, I listened to this as I was heading to sleep (though I didn't sleep 'til the video's end, as it kept my attention the whole time). Bravo, mate. Bravo.
never get tired of playing Witcher 3. the lore and landscape is beautiful and there are always new parts to discover. Kinda broke my heart when I first finished the whole game.
You got it wrong about the fall of the Witcher schools. The three schools in the books (Cat, Wolf and Griffin) were attacked and overthrown BEFORE the books even began. Geralt and other Witchers (other then Vessamir) only survived by not being at the school when the raids happened.
Once again, the worst monster still is the human. The Witchers who fight monsters were killed by superstitious people while the monsters who kill without rhyme or reason flourish just nearby as neighbors.
I would not. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Even if it comes at such a high price ... If anything I would try to involve myself in the studies surrounding the cause why only so little children make it through with the reasoning: "There must be a better way!"
Crash Kojote the largest, most vocal opposition to the witchers were mages, a group of people plagued by an unending and strong inclination for ambition (which is surprising since humanity itself is plenty ambitious).
Never read anything about that in the main books. On the contrary. One of the highre up mages, before the counsil of the sorceresses invited Geralt to join them, he declined because Geralt wanted not to be the puppet of someone like that.
I need more of these videos. Thank you for creating these videos. In the future, maybe speculate a little bit about each monsters biology. In your drowners video, i thought about the drowners head. The cranium of a drowner is much larger than a humans. Which is curious to me, a creature that is primitive and barely conscious, why would they have such large heads? My theory is larger based on how a drowners possible breathing cycle occurs. Drowners do not possess gills, instead they have very human-like nostrils. I believe that drowners have some sort of filtration lung like systems that is housed in what would be there sinuses. This “system” would allow them to make the switch from breathing in water then to breathe in air. I haven’t seen drowners come up to the surface for breathes of air. Drowners spend most of there time sendentary under water waiting for possible prey or on land scavenging. I feel that a possible conversion system for such a life style would need to exist. My other reason is that maybe the large head is due to a pair of “swim bladders” like a fish. A fishes swim bladder is a organ that via control of air in allows it to move up and down while the creature is swimming. The swim bladder works like a submarine. I feel that the placement for a organ would be perfect in the head. The drowners body layout is similar to a humans. When a person swims they swim face first. The swim bladder in the head would allow for a incredibly quick rise upwards in the water without having to exert much energy to swim. It would also allow for a very quick dive into the water too, increasing it speed in the water. Both theories in my opinion work.
The kids were either given up by parents or guardians or they were homeless anyway. It's a shame that so many children died yes, but it at least gave them a CHANCE at doing something with their lives.
Stewart Orr not true, they were often collateral if a family could not pay the witcher with money or items or if the witcher demands a child in exchange for their service.
Children chosen to become witchers are brought in by what's called The Law of Surprise. Basically a witcher helps someone and sets the price; they could take money, goods, or enact the law of surprise. The last option means a child, often the family's firstborn, will be taken and have the option of becoming a witcher. They can choose whether to become a witcher or to return home - those who stay go through the trials, those who don't get shipped off or are sent home on their own (dont recall the process). Orphans wouldn't be of much value to a Witcher
TW3 did a really good job showing how this somewhat romantic castle and serene valley weren't as nice as they appeared. Hundreds of young boys suffered died there: Killed by the Trials and/or by monsters, slaughtered by riled-up peasants, beaten to the point of dying, exposed to physical trials which would make most wish for death, etc. If you explore a little, you can find the cave where the Trials of the Grasses were first conducted. And those were hardly pleasant. A recovered record states that 4 out of 5 young boys died during the Trial of the Grasses: Heart failure, multiple organ failure, brain damage and cerebral hemorrhaging. So it's not very surprising that Lambert doesn't really like being there and is so at odds with Vesimir, who seems to want to stay there until the walls of the keep collapse completely.
I have 400 hours in Witchr 3, explored every nook and cranny in all areas, including Kaer Morhen and I somehow missed the canvas? I don't remeber it...
Couple thing i would like to add and straighten if you don't mind: You said that fanatic attack on Kaer Morhen that turned it into what it is now happened during Geralts amnesia which is not right at all. From books we get to know that those events happened 50 years before Triss was born and Geralt was very young witcher on the trail during the attack (like all living witchers except of Vesemir who survived slaughter in fortress). Geralts amnesia is basically a transition from saga ending into games, many years after that occured. The main reason for the attack is a book called "Monster, or witcher description" written by anonymus priest. Priests and some sorcerers hated Witchers due to their mutations, beeing ungodly etc. Spreading superstition, false allegations and gossips made common folk attack fortress that fell only because of sorcerers. Origin for Kaer Morhen and Witchers is at the first steps of humanity on this continent, when they were nothing more but invaders and colonists. They were created by combined efforts of alchemists, sorcerers and other let's say scientists to clear a path through hostile environment for human expansion. Can't say if taking stranded, orphaned children happened from the start or it's a way to try and preserve Witchers. In case you will plan on making video on Geralt himself i just want to hint some tougher to find facts like that his age is about 100 but his hair color is caused by extra mutations only he went through due to his phenomenal tolerance to standard procedures. Anyways, loving the saries, saw all videos so far and you are doing fantastic job.
fantastic video, really well done. I wish you talked a little bit slower to let your words sink in a bit more, but other than that. It was a great watch and very well produced!
The Trial of the Grasses and Trial of the Dreams are practiced by all Witcher Schools, but the training itself is very unique dependent upon the school the children finds themselves in. After the Trials, any training practices we see at Kaer Morhen shouldn't be seen as the norm amongst any other school.
Do videos about the skellige clans and jarls and customs :) One video that maybe shows the differences between the people in the witcher world and an in deep lore video about skellige
It's my favorite castle in the game and I really like the scenery around it too, but Toussaint is my favorite environment in the game followed by Velen.
I love this game. I dont think I've ever been this bummed out to have missed earlier titles. I'm super stoked for Cyberpunk 2077 but I really hope CDPR goes back and remakes the 1st two witcher games for next gen or makes a 4th. Thank you for making all of these lore vids. Its giving me hours of Witcher entertainment when I'm not playing the game. I'm also buying the books and reading every single 1.
This was really interesting and incredibly well done! Definitely subbing for more Witcher Lore. Only comment I have (which I have comes across as constructive rather than anything negative) is that I don't believe you mentioned that Kaer Morhen is home specifically to the School of the Wolf.
I've been curious about possibly buying this game for a while and with you guys uploading this, I'm getting very tempted with getting it. Also Drew has the best narrator voice for this.
「Saber」The『Nihilist』 its not even a question of wether or not this game is worth it, THIS GAME IS WORTH IT EVEN WITHOUT THE DLC. The DLC however, makes the game fucking phenomenal. You cannot go wrong with the Witcher 3 my friend
I will happily stay subbed and give you all the likes for this. I always had trouble getting into the Witcher because I haven't read the books but your series makes it easier to get into it
Hey I love the lore and the video. I just wanna clear up that Kaer Morhen fell long before Geralt got amnesia. He was killed at the end of the books series and once revived had amnesia. That was the beginning of the fist game. In the witcher books Geralt brings 12 year old Ciri to train as a witcher in Kaer Morhen. The opening scene of Wild Hunt with Geralt dreaming of Ciri training at Kaer Morhen is from the time they spent their in the first book. At that time Kaer Morhen was already in shambles and there are only our 4 beloved witchers there. All you get from the books is that the Stronghold fell almost 100 years ago and none of the witchers will talk about it. This also ties to why the 4 haven't gotten more kids and started training more witchers, none of them know how to perform the mutations required. All of the specially trained alchemists and witchers that performed the mutations died when the castle fell, and time had not been kind to the hidden books that explained how to carry out these mutations.
I've never been into this kind of stuff but I am very drawn to this story. Obviously the series brought me here and I took interest in geralt's story. It feels as if it's telling a past life I once had. Hopefully I can find a book.
Sad truth: At its peak, witchers were guilty of most of the crimes they are accused now. The books point that were almost 50 witchers in Kaer Morhem. With a a success ratio close to 1/10, that means at minimum of around 500 children trained by the witchers. This was probably in the span or a century or at least many decades, true. Just ruined your day and others. I'm refering to a time when papa Vesemir was young. Is alot of Kids they needed. And if we go even backwards in time (now full especulation mode) Can we be sure that the first attemps to create a Witchers were volunteers? PD: I admit that I should have said "probably"vin my first comment xF
Kaer Morhen and Skellige are so beautiful. If you dont have any quests or missiojs to complete, just travel and explore them both. You'll be amazed at how elegant it is.
I did read all books and then finished first and second game, but when played third, I got witcher burnout and hat to have break :) So maybe I will start 3rd game soon. This videos got me hyped again...
Lambert, Eskel, Vesemir (x), Geralt, Leo (x), Ciri (x?). Not a lot of wolf school witchers left. Or witchers left at all. School of the Viper is probably extinct, School of the Cat probably. No clue about Bear or Griffin.
School of the wolf may as well be extinct. With Vesemir gone, there are only 3 witchers left. I don't count Ciri because she's not a real witcher, she was just trained by them.
I am loving your series, just found it today, instant subscribe :) keep it up, i'm looking forward to a vampire episode and an episode for geralt himself, as i find it hard to explain what a witcher is and what geralt is to my mum :) by the way, i love your channel name xD
I feel like the Trial of Dreams would be similar to the Trial of the Grass, in that a number of substances are consumed. The effect, I think, is that the Witcher in Training would fall into a near death sleep while their body undergoes the extensive changes that removes the vestiges of their humanity.
The massacre of kaer morhen that killed most wolf school witchers happened way before Geralt ,Eskel or lambert were alive ,it happened when vesemir was younger and he was the only survivor. The one you spoke of happened at the start of the witcher 1 where salamandra attacked kaer morhen to steal their mutagens just when Geralt had is amnesia.
An obvious effort is realized in the writing of this video, I see a real life dandelion, talking about the Witcher world and landscapes if anyone was giving time to read the books found in the walkthrough you of course wishes if they did a DLC that take place in Kovir or Zerrikania
I am Polish and I grew up reading books on which the Witcher games are based. Each time I see a non-Polish channel talking about the franchise, my heart swells with pride. I'm from Germany, the game is HUGE here. I don't know a single gamer who hasn't played or at least dipped into the game.
From Wales we thank you country for making a beautiful unervers
Lol who the hell said you had to be American to do something great? Is that what they teach you over there? Because in the US all we’re taught is how terrible we are and how we’ve never done anything of merit.
your thoughts on Cyberpunk?
This is great the witcher is rich in lore
horror addict thank you!!!
FudgeMuppet YESS MORE WITCHER!!
Would you do a video about all the witcher schools? Would be soooooooo fucking cool
You are mistaken in one regard. Attack on Kaer Morhen took place long before Geralt's amnesia. It was a ruin even during the action of the books. Home only to Vesemir, Lambert, Eskel, Geralt, and Coen who wasn't even a Wolf School witcher.
I just started playing witcher 3 again and these are wonderful motivation to keep playing!!
Ben Dubwa yoo same
lmao just finished the bloody baron quests for the pffffff.. 5th, 6th time?
Ben Dubwa i think i have the world record for how many times i played the witcher lol.
Ben Dubwa wtf I just finished that quest too
YummyBlade YT right?? Its prob the most well known quest since its DAYMMMM GOOD and near the start. Lot better than the griffin arc in my opinion atleast.

Witcher 3 best game i’ve ever played!!! So keep up with these amazing videos.
Once again, i adore you guys for making these videos, really great camerawork, makes such good memories come back to me, cheers!
never get tired of playing Witcher 3. the lore and landscape is beautiful and there are always new parts to discover. Kinda broke my heart when I first finished the whole game.
It was pretty depressing when you finish the main game and it loads you into an empty Kaer Morhen
You got it wrong about the fall of the Witcher schools. The three schools in the books (Cat, Wolf and Griffin) were attacked and overthrown BEFORE the books even began. Geralt and other Witchers (other then Vessamir) only survived by not being at the school when the raids happened.
What people seem to forget is that there are many more witcher schools other than the wolf. They all had their own trials.
Fat bastard in nilfgaard, witcher schools were all removed due to the moratorium imposed on mutants in their cities.
Pam pamparam, pam pamparaaaaaaaaam..
Haha
I always wondered what the inspiration for that came from.
Once again, the worst monster still is the human.
The Witchers who fight monsters were killed by superstitious people while the monsters who kill without rhyme or reason flourish just nearby as neighbors.
I thought they were unwanted orphans.
I would not. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Even if it comes at such a high price ...
If anything I would try to involve myself in the studies surrounding the cause why only so little children make it through with the reasoning: "There must be a better way!"

Crash Kojote umm, the assault of kaer morhen that killed the majority of the northern witchers was headed by mages
*We want more witcher builds and lore videos!!!!!!!!*
I need more of these videos. Thank you for creating these videos.

Man, I've watched this and the Drowner video like 3 times. Can't get enough of Witcher Lore as well as the way it's presented. Very well done.
A huge keep with so much history. And then you look outward and it's dwarfed by the mountains around it.
Some absolutely beautiful video shots.
Yesssss more witcherrrr

The Witcher is such a deep and intricate universe. So much potential... Thank you for bringing it to life, Drew. You're doing great.
ohh how I missed hearing that witcher music
Fudgemuppet is my favorite gaming lore and build channel on RUclips
These witcher videos are very refreshing and even more welcome, well done! Can hardly wait for the next one.
Brought me back to the channel, don't stop this series!

I started crying when I heard the music. The game is so damn beautiful
I’m really glad you guys are getting into the witcher lore
Your narration skills are top notch and delivery/voice is soothing and captivating. I subscribed right away

fantastic video, really well done. I wish you talked a little bit slower to let your words sink in a bit more, but other than that. It was a great watch and very well produced!
Great work Drew keep it up. Though I wish you mentioned all the enhancements the trial of the grasses grants.

great work, with you doing more, morganize into a playlist. would love to have them all slated for one after hte other watching.

Just got it, and I haven't played it yet, but I am very excited.
It's my favorite castle in the game and I really like the scenery around it too, but Toussaint is my favorite environment in the game followed by Velen.
Been a Witcher fan even before they announced the 2nd game. So close to my heart! Love the video, thank you!
I love this new video series. Can you please do the next video on the bruxa or good old Mr. O’Dimm?
I love this game. I dont think I've ever been this bummed out to have missed earlier titles. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your series, Drew. I'm currently playing through the Hearts of Stone DLC, and it's amazing.
This was really interesting and incredibly well done! Definitely subbing for more Witcher Lore. Only comment I have (which I have comes across as constructive rather than anything negative) is that I don't believe you mentioned that Kaer Morhen is home specifically to the School of the Wolf.

I believe the trial of dreams is nothing but a swift kick In the balls by the witchers grandmaster
Nothing like a nice congratulatory kick in the love sac for surviving brutal, torturous trials, and seeing most of your friends die in front of you.
Do people who dont want there kids send them there or do the kid go themselves?
Zurin- thanks.
Zurin arctus *I Will Redeem The Land of Shadow** Law of Surprise is rarely used though, usually they just took an orphan found on the street
Just ruined your day and others.
I'm refering to a time when papa Vesemir was young. Is alot of Kids they needed. And if we go even backwards in time (now full especulation mode) Can we be sure that the first attemps to create a Witchers were volunteers?

Your videos make wanna go back and play these games and you know what I will.
Kaer Morhen and Skellige are so beautiful. If you dont have any quests or missiojs to complete, just travel and explore them both. You'll be amazed at how elegant it is.
On my 7 play through can’t get enough of this game
Nice video!! Would love to see more Witcher creature lore videos.
I'm currently playing Wild Hunt so I love these.
My body is so ready for more Witcher Lore.
Please do a video on the conjunction
Have you ever considered doing videos about the various Witcher Schools? My personal favorite is the School of the Bear. How about you?
Could you do a theory video about Vilgefortz, whether or not he had mutated himself with the Witcher concoctions?
I did read all books and then finished first and second game, but when played third, I got witcher burnout and hat to have break :) So maybe I will start 3rd game soon. This videos got me hyped again...
Just found out you are doing these thanks so much for this!
0:03 in the video already felling nostalgic :)
I want to finish the books first, but I love FudgeMuppet too much!!!
I started my second playthrough of the Witcher 3 last week.
You can find a cat school Witcher in the Witcher 3. so that’s one for Cat school
@@VioletMilks Ya but you end up killing him don't you? Or is there an option to spare? Anyhow, I killed him.
More Witcher vids please! Love your stuff man, keep it up!
We need more witcher maybe a monster playlist along with kingdom's and kings and characters please happy New year
YES! Witcher at last! Skellige please!
thank you for making these videos bro...
Love the witcher stuff, you should do a playthrough
Great Video! Love the descriptions.
Fantastic video! Thank you
You really don’t see the true beauty of the keep until you’ve seen it in this video.
I am loving your series, just found it today, instant subscribe :) keep it up, i'm looking forward to a vampire episode and an episode for geralt himself, as i find it hard to explain what a witcher is and what geralt is to my mum :) by the way, i love your channel name xD

Please do Kings in the Northern Realms! (Foltest, Radovid, Henselt and Demavend)
This is some professional level shit man, good work and amazing writing!
On my fourth playthrough now. It's even better with mods. I don't think i will ever uninstall the game.
'Lacking the elven elegance' ... proceeds to call grandmaster 'Sapowki'
Absolutely love this stuff. Keep it up!
GAH! I love the soundtrack to this game. I could listen to this music all day.
Keep em coming sir, I love the lore
That music..... 👌
Thank you for this !!!!

*Looks like rain*
I love Lambert haha, really wish could see more of him in witcher 3
Plz do a knight of the nine skyrim build
It's not well located since anyone could start a rockslide on the mountain above it
An obvious effort is realized in the writing of this video, I see a real life dandelion, talking about the Witcher world and landscapes if anyone was giving time to read the books found in the walkthrough you of course wishes if they did a DLC that take place in Kovir or Zerrikania
Please do more Witcher Video Please! THE BEST GAME EVER!!
