I’ve never played a CoD game before, but watching this I noticed that every single soldier he looked at had a unique name. I know I’m thinking about it too hard, but it makes it hurt seeing so many of them die. A loving mother and father gave each and every one of those men their name, and now they’re never coming home.

@@DaRazee Medal of Honor, the older ones did the beaches reasonably well, as did the older CODs. But then again the older CODs had 3 campaigns and then you add on United Offensive which is pretty much it's own game you get another 3+ missions per campaign. @Master Shifu Your comments crazy old, but none of those games are realistic world war 2 games. Something like Post Scriptum is as close as games get that I've seen. Actual medics, command organisation, Armoured divisions, airborne etc..
Opening was amazing, the rest of the game felt incomplete and rushed. Also don’t get me started on German soldiers using Russian made smgs in FRANCE!!!
And the firefight was so quiet. Like they were having a nice chat in the battlefield, hundreds of people running and dying around them and they're having a conversation. The smgs in France thing annoyed me too. I mean so many rifles and ammunition were captured from the eastern front at the early days of the war that the Germans did make use of them on the western front. However the chances of encountering those weapons being used would've been extremely low. Not to mention the fact that the captured equipment used was from the early days of the war meaning the soviet smgs would've been few and far between even amongst the captured weaponry. The chances of encountering one on the battlefield would've been almost 0.
Ive heard that COD 2017 was supposed to be a sequel to Advanced Warfare but due to hate on IW trailer they were being forced to make a WW2 COD game by scratch
I thought it was ost divisions at least..you know russian pows forced to fight for the Germans...but even they had German weapons irl...and DIDNT SPEAK GERMAN
I just wish we had a WW2 where we play as the Germans. Like the intro would be somebody waking up in camp, narrating the build up for war . The narrator growing up to a collapsed Germany with a collapsed economy. He being ruined and living on the streets, and now finally there is an opportunity for young Germans to put dignity to their lives. FInally a chance at national redemption. What their grandfathers only dreamed of, what their parents never completed. *flashbacks of -the treaty of versailles, german humiliation for an austrian war, the german economic collapse, the Franco Prussian wars on how French always sacked German Capital(since Napoelonic times) ... Finally is our Generations to change history forever, for Europe, for Germans and for the World! Then you get a panoramic first person view of the german marching and suddenly you hear the German March song and see an airplane flying over you , then tanks on your side... and then you look at a center view and boom.. the Eifel Tower and witness a first person Blitzkrieg of the capture of Paris. The first time the Germans defeated the French on their own turf in a war. Then you your first person view switches to the right and you the Es-Es badges... you're in the Es ES. Marching to some hardcore German Marching music...almost like star wars when the CLONE STORM TROOPERS are marching w/ orchestral music. I'm not even european, but phuck this would be over af for the ww2 genere to play as the Grand Germans. Oh and then the second one... you play as the RUSSIANS. In the japanese invasion and the german invasion.
The higgins boats were capable of driving in reverse which makes you wonder why the hell they didn't pull up to the shore backwards so they could use the back panel of the boat as cover while the doors opened facing away from the incoming fire
@@Damidas Late reply, but reversing an LCVP full of men with heavy gear would be slow and dangerous. Besides, if the currents were strong enough to put the LCVPs in the wrong sectors going forwards, imagine how worse it would be when going backwards, where throttle is minimal.
the graphics and face animations in this game are insane! ..young people don't appreciate this, but this is crazy for 2017, its even better than most games today.
In reality you had to little to no chance of surviving omaha if you were one of the first boats to hit the beach. A navy boat captain who drove these ships recalled that in his first two runs the men were cut down like wheat as soon as the doors opened. He remembers the water being soaked a dark red and boys screaming for their mothers with guts hanging out. It'll be 76 years since the day. Lets not forget the sacrifice these young boys made.
Also there's a reason America ambushed through Normandy. It's because the Germans were least expecting that and well not so well equipped or planned. Air support wasn't immediate. So a couple of machine guns & mortars, which I'm not saying isn't terrifying but needed to be cooled down more frequently. I'd say British intelligence did an amazing job saving American lives and gaining enemy territory 💪
Obviously this whole scene took a lot of visual inspiration to the Omaha Beach landing scene in Saving Private Ryan, but I especially love the little nod to the scene of the soldiers sprinting out of the tank whilst on fire whilst you've got the tinnitus going on, love that little reference to such a surreal moment in the film
What's even worse is that it's the big M1921 prohibition era variant. No American soldier would be seen with that thing. And why the hell does it have a stock pouch for carbine magazines? It's like the studio had no idea or care about what they were doing.
smefour Nothing wrong with love of country buddy, Sure the wars being fought now days aren’t as meaningful and essential for survival but it’s not for fools.
I played this game before ..war games like medal of Honor call of duty world at war ,cod modern warfare. and an old Play station american civilwar where the guns are like those what cowboys use..amazing

watch the Movie Black Hawk Down. 7:34 This is exactly what the pirates of the caribbean ride felt like when I was 6. (1989) They had open ocean and pirate ships way off in the "distance". You would hear blasts and see Canon fire, then water would shoot up like that. As a kid, it was intense.
Everyone talking about how horrifying this was irl but no one shows the admiration they should to this video, this man did the whole campaign without dying once while most of us died in the landing craft lol
I remember playing the MOH version of this back in the day. Even with those blocky graphics, it was able to get the point across by making you imagine what it must've been like IRL. Seeing this, albeit not entirely lifelike, really does make you feel like you're actually there. I can't even begin to think what must've been going through both the American & German soldiers thoughts that day...
Even though this is a video game. It gives one an idea, how truly horrifying storming the beaches of Normandy really was. What those extremely brave soldiers would have seen and witnessed would have scarred their souls for life.

I’ve never played a CoD game before, but watching this I noticed that every single soldier he looked at had a unique name. I know I’m thinking about it too hard, but it makes it hurt seeing so many of them die. A loving mother and father gave each and every one of those men their name, and now they’re never coming home.

Definately Medal of Honor was better and more brutal . It was more realistic.

They spent less than a year on this game.
They were making another futuristic game but when all the hate went to Infinite Warfare they had to throw it all away and quickly make a WW2 game. That's why the game is so uninspired.

@Master Shifu nice mate...
@@DaRazee Medal of Honor, the older ones did the beaches reasonably well, as did the older CODs. But then again the older CODs had 3 campaigns and then you add on United Offensive which is pretty much it's own game you get another 3+ missions per campaign. Medal of honour was my first experience on the beach..it was such a good game I gotta play this
Opening was amazing, the rest of the game felt incomplete and rushed.

I can’t bear with the fact that some of the soldiers have Thompson’s and have the 50 round drum mag.
So historically inaccurate.
What's even worse is that it's the big M1921 prohibition era variant. No American soldier would be seen with that thing. And why the hell does it have a stock pouch for carbine magazines? It's like the studio had no idea or care about what they were doing.
