Will it's nib get ruined due to prolonged use? I have heard that in rollerballs with prolonged use, the ball gets completely ruined.

There's a Monteverde pen that deals with wear by replacing the rollerball, but I notice that one replacement unit is more expensive than this entire pen lol

Usually it is not necessary to clean the cartridge roller, unless you want to write in different colors. Then a quick wash out of the pen is recommended to prevent mixing of the ink.
Yes, you can use a converter. It fits in all Schneider cartridge rollers.
