    Forging a bunch of these, and adding an actuated compartment below my turnk to dispense these beauts

      That was my thought as well, except using weld-fused bent and sharpened hollow tubes instead. Deflate tires in to time, leaving the pursuer in the dust.

    I saw some caltrops have hooks at the ends, rather than points. That would make forging a bit more tricky...

      I know which ones you mean. Not really, just an extra step. You essentially bend over the tip of a normal one and then forge out the "elbow" into a new point. Nasty business though!

      You could put inward-facing barbs on each tine as well to make them harder to pull out. Adds a nice sinister layer to the defensive weapon.

    How long does it take to forge one of these (how many could one make in a day)?

      For mass production, I wonder if they devised some special tools or jigs to speed up the process
