@@jamesmcmillen4828 In reality no, but on discovery channel “yes!” 👍🏻 I know it’s huge! this trident looks more decorative than a useful tool, Poseidon would be proud to hang it on his wall and that’s it 😅
The first 1:40 seconds was him making the socket. He drilled the bar on a lathe and than tapered it down in a set of dye's. The grinding of the barbs on each of the tines was kind of jumped over...just a couple of seconds of grinding and in the next shot they are already done.
We are in the modern age, not in a cave. I don't forge with rocks and I don't smelt my own iron(even though I've tried it). Forge how you like, I prefer precision, centered around the tooling I make.
@@rigoniironworks like I said it’s nice work . I could not begin to make what you have made (I’m the basic armature)it is outstanding, and that’s my point. I would dearly like to see another produced with a bit more raw blacksmith character ie some hammer marks, some minor flaws etc. I believe you would have worked your way through the ranks from traditional smithing to power hammers and lathes, so I’m sure you could do it. Please understand I’m not criticising you. Thanks
Sweet looking frog gig
I don't have a forge, anvil or tongs and certainly don't need a trident. Great video, I learned a lot!
I need one!
Nice. That's getting close to a winged boar spear-head. :)
Another piece of outstanding skill 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Your workshop is immaculate!
I'm sure that Odin is pleased with that. Much respect and may you live a long good life
Do you mean Poseidon?
Nice place and nice job
Very nice job on the Trident sir! Well done!!!!
Sure to miss you, John. Not begging for more videos, just letting you know you are missed.
Had some medical crap to deal with, at some point I'll get back to shop work.
Nice work. This channel deserves more subs.
Tell me about it haha, thanks though, spread the word!
That is a very sturdy trident, it would go very well on a statue of Posiden,
Absolutely amazing craftsmanship
Man i like your precision and your jigs and how clean is your workshop keep it up
COMPLIMENTI BELLISSIMO !
Great trident! Amazing, clean lines. Thank you for the demo!
👏👏👏👏👏
Bellissimo lavoro... wonderfool work
All that out of one bar that's amazing , Very neat and clean as all was . :)
Very nice work good
Excellent work.
Rigoni is Atlantics Blacksmith level 😋😋🗡
Poseidon is like "I waont thayt” in a Bobby Duke voice.
Very well done sir! I’d love to see you do a pair of sai. No one is making those anymore and I’d be interested in buying.
I need one of these.
Extant looking trident and a great job making it
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Excellent work! 💪🔥 🔨 👍
This is an interesting project.
Excelente Rigoni!
Great work. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week :)
brick tamland approves
Amazing projet 🥰 merci du partage je m'abonne a cette chaîne tout de suite.
Guess if you drive a Maserati one of those things is a necessity!
Aquaman would be proud
best video
well done :-)
perfect, I love it 👍
Up there with Torbjorn Ahman
So clean, but nothing's holding the handle in there?
Wait so the trident is just press-fit on the shaft? Does that not go into low-earth orbit when you swing it?
haha, yeah I'm not planning on using this silly thing, have the head removable. Otherwise it would be pinned/glued.
Nice work but it needs a spike on the other end.
In Mississippi, we call that a frog gig.
A frog gig is thin and sharp, this one would never pierce through a frog skin!
@@frozo12 You've never seen a Mississippi bullfrog, have you?

Oh wow, you own an anvil? Never knew…
You strike me as the kind of self dignified asshat that thinks handing someone a hammer means you help build the actual thing.
👍👍👍👍
Good
Мощный трезубец вышел!
Would have been nice to see you forge and weld the socket.
The first 1:40 seconds was him making the socket. He drilled the bar on a lathe and than tapered it down in a set of dye's. The grinding of the barbs on each of the tines was kind of jumped over...just a couple of seconds of grinding and in the next shot they are already done.
I just think about how do people do this in the past? When there is no gas torch, power hammer,...
Can you make it in that condition?

@@rigoniironworks okey :)
Blacksmiths will sniff and say you could use a similar method of nothing but stock removal and a torch to finish it off.
So, hows the socket fixed to the handle?, pressure fit?!!!!
ha, yep it should be pinned. I don't plan on using it, more ceremonial/concept than purpose built.
In any event, still pretty slick, great job, keep posting 👍
what about tridentized?
Rigoni how come you have so little scale coming off during the forging proces? Everithing looks so clean: is it the steel or the gasforge?
I use a propane forge and try to avoid "soaking" the work at forging temps.
хороший подарок Нептуну приготовил 👍
праздник Нептуна будет ))
great iron works do you make BBQ spears or kabob swords ?
Why you look like Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising?
Доброго вам здоровья, позвольте узнать, а что вы наносите на металл в конце вашего видео, заранее спасибо, работа класс
Time to go under the sea.
На утилизатора из револьвер похож. Крут парень, очень. С уважением из России

Missing the quench.
Muito bom gostei !
Perfect!
I would love to find someone in Toronto Canada who could make me something like this. How would I go about sourcing a professional for the job??
Look up Toronto Blacksmith on youtube. Paul is very talented and in your town.
@@rigoniironworks 🙏🏿🙏🏿 Thank you so much! You are a Master Craftsman 🙏🏿
1401!.
I think someone is going take care of a wild Hog problem.
Pozdrawiam
Nice mechanical work. Now, please make another from scratch and use a coke forge and a hammer - no machinery . Thanks
I'm sure there are smiths willing to accomodate your needs. Better yet, make one, film it and I'll watch it :)

forging is a loose term with this guy. didn’t even know he owned and anvil let alone a swage block
Are you implying that using a power hammer isn’t forging?
It starts off boring 😂😂
Looks really nice and perfect, but useless.
very thick to be useful.
Yeah, would probably obliterate a fish instead of grab it.
Probably why he called it a trident instead of a gig. Brick would be proud!!
He could have made it for display purposes? Or maybe just for fun too
