My dad serve in the arvn as a marine he doesn't talk about that much I didn't know much about the arvn awards I enjoy the video because it is part of a forgotten history I never learned.
Thank you for your video . My father served as ARVN First Lieutenant & was a graduate of the Reserve Officer Training School . He was awarded Chien Thuong Boi Tinh "War Injury Medal" and Chien Dich Boi Tinh " Campaign Medal"
For the Luc-Quan Huan-Chuong / Army Distinguished Service Order, while I agree that the triangular shapes might mean the three regions in Vietnam, I also think that the entire symbol represents Mountains and Rivers, especially with the wavy line. "Mountains and Rivers" as a phrase is euphemism for the country in Vietnamese literature and are physically related to the army branch at the same time.
What's the name of the intro theme music? Also glad to see a video on South Vietnamese decorations; unfortunately in pop history, the Vietnam War is described as Americans fighting "the Vietnamese" completely erasing the native antiCommunist Vietnamese we were aiding and who fought valiantly to the bitter end.

This is so interesting. Many thanks Colonel Foster
Glad you enjoyed it
Colonel will you be doing foreign merit and valor awards given to US service members in other time periods?
maybe ww2……..good suggestion.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Many of the Vietnamese medals are so nicely designed. And then you see the training service medal... a rectangle!
For the medal device, it was not a palm branch but a willow branch
thank you, will make a note to change in the future.
The devices on the naval medal look like waves
Yes they do!
