Leatherface chooses the worst weapons conceivable for killing. Chainsaws need time to saw through the bone, get caught on fabric, make to much noise, need gas, etc. A meat hook is so small, and works in such a way that he would have to get in close to to anything, and the wooden mallet is the only thing that can make sense to me.
Fantastic film! Incredibly well made. I love your whole series. Only problem I found in this video was Jason screaming. Other than that, it was an awesome film!

I say we stop complaining about the details and just enjoy the fight. Making Jason scream at 7:48 was a weird choice, and so was making him grunt (which Jason goes to hell also did) but ignoring that; its a great Fan Film with two horror icons going at it.
If you were talking Leatherface VS. Mike Myers, maybe. Jason? Supernatural & undead! It's why Freddy VS Jason at least believable in the movies. Still well done though, I'll give you that.
I saw that this was about nine minutes, and I thought, nah the chase scene just won't be the same as it was in the original Texas Chainsaw what with the woman running and screaming for ten minutes. Guess we can never go back. ;) Good work to all!
