It's absolutely been my hope to adopt and have biological children. One thing we've been doing is talking about it. Ny daughter has heard about adoption and our plans since infancy. We want to maintain "birth order" for lack of a better term and we want to adopt a little older. I hope the consistent conversation will help with that transition when it comes.
I am actually still not over the fact that my mom adopted a child out of the blues and brought her home as a "surprise" when I was seven years old. I was not ready,I never even asked for a sibling. That day,I had asked tor a big teddy bear and I expected that but instead I got a small teddy and a baby sister. It wasn't amusing at all. I was used to being the only child and the sudden shift was very unfair. I am sad to say that I was mean to her up for some years. I wish I went through counselling to prepare myself
@@Flylittlebirds we do now. But after a very bad episode in 2020 where I broke down and blamed her for things she wasn't even responsible for. We reconciled end of 2022. I started therapy in 2023 and it has helped a lot. 🥰

It's always a big change to the family. But yes, I'm sure staying open about it is the best thing to do

I can see how it must have been quite a shock. Hopefully, you and your sister have love for each other now x
