- Our surrogacy story! My husband and I have always been an open book to help others who aspire to grow their families. When you see same-sex parents, its people's natural curiosity to wonder what the path they used to start their family. It's important to remember that even straight couples go through various journeys to create a family as well. There are many ways to create a family by foster care, adoption, and surrogacy and fertility aid. We know this process can feel overwhelming, so along with our story, we will be sharing about the @1in4app who sponsored this video / 1in4app . We know a ton about surrogacy, but we wanted to equip you with a resource for any path you may take. It’s filled with community stories, discussion blogs, and resources to help you no matter what your journey may be. We all make families differently, but our common goal remains the same; creating a family.
Meet our family. We are Dustin and Burton, gay dads, and proud parents of our twins, Stone and Holland Buffaloe. We created our family vlog, "Raising Buffaloes," as a resource for all. We are an All American Family, who happen to be gay parents through surrogacy. On our channel, you will see videos of our family adventures and grasp what it's like to raise kids in the south as a gay couple. Our dad vlog captures our parenting and fatherhood journey, but you'll find much more. We open up about our coming out journey, relationship and marriage tips, and how to live life with a little more laughter. We use our voice to shed light and awareness to the LGBTQ+ community, gay rights equality, and opening eyes to others. Family has many definitions, and this is ours. I am a 75 year old gay man who grew up in a different world. How blessed we are to have wonderful, bright, thoughtful men like you become parents. Those children are blessed and you make all the naysayers and bigots seem so irrevelant and out of synch with the goodness on earth.

As a young passionate 18-year old young gay man, my dream is to adopt 2 children with a lovely sportive husband. to hear your stories gives me so much hope
I would like to have two children too. However, i am still single now
These guys have it down. I have 2 little girls and just to let you know you don't have to be married to have children. I understand the desire to have a partner but you can do it alone. A few suggestions, Adoptuskids, The Bear foundation and Social Services are all great ways to go. Good luck. it is a process but it is worth it. Have just started watching your content and am really impressed how you are spreading such a positive vibe. My civil partner (soon to be husband) and I went the surrogacy route to start our family, although illegal here in Switzerland. Due to the distance, we teamed up with a great agency in Minneapolis who held our hands and walked us through the process (health insurance etc as non US citizens is not so simple) and had the most amazing experience- We can only echo what you guys are saying. James has been the most amazing gift and we are hopeful he’ll get a brother or sister in a year or two. The biggest shout out has to go to the amazing gestational carriers and surrogates and their families who make our family dreams possible. But thank you guys for spreading the hope.

I had no idea how complicated Dustin and Burton’s process was. It must have taken a huge amount of patience and prayer. But God gave them two gorgeous kids.

They didn’t learned abt fighting,hatred or seperating..bt normal parents sometimes can't do like this..it depens how u are if u r bad ur family wont last long & if u r a good hearted person ur family will love u a lot like they r living..i hope u understand 😇
Amazing how similar our process was to yours!!! We did go one extra step and did a DNA test right away, to find out who’s was who’s biologically and then we adopted the one who wasn’t ours, as an extra layer of protection since we are planning on living in a different country, and you never know what their laws may be. We weren’t going to tell anyone who’s was who’s... but then it became very obvious as they look like mini versions of each of us! But like you said, they are both ours and we will always treat them that way!! Thank you for sharing your story!!❤️💙
we thought we were going to have to do that, but the laws changed while we were in the hospital! we were one of the first same-sex couples in our state to both be on the birth certificate. congratulations on your family! :)

Lady kid are being beaten and rapped daily and you worry about childern with two loving parents go somewhere im a conservative myself in most ways but not with love as love is none of the governments or others business my daughter is gay and I could not be prouder so why watch stuff to only be hateful best of luck to both families in this conservation and do not worry about people like this

I have 3 yr old b/g twins myself. I went through IVF and wow, that first ultrasound is wild. Twins can be so frustrating and so rewarding. Thanks for sharing your story! Beautiful family. ❤️

I’m in my 40’s he’s 22 years old. He grew up to be an amazing young man, doesn’t see color, active in rights, polite. Was scary 20 years ago but so worth the fight. Love you guys💖. I’m in the process to adopt again this time thru Foster, as we’ve done foster care for years.

Your story makes me cry. One hears so many stories about how difficult it can be, even now, for GLBT folk to have children (or even to keep the children they have!) that it warms my heart to see a happy story like yours. My one and only nephew was a gift also. My brother and his wife couldn't get pregnant. My brothers best friend knew a young girl that wanted to have her baby, but for my brother and his wife. Have to admit that I got a little choked up when you mentioned that you found your gestational carrier. That kind of generosity is surreal and powerful - especially in a not-so-supportive-LGBTQ state. The gift this woman, her husband, and kids moved me!

Mate I am also from Australia and I have absolutely no doubt Dustin and Burton are great parents..no doubt at all ..My big concern about same sex parenting is that the children grow up missing one of their natural parents. In this instance their mums.. Whilst many families are missing mum or dad because of broken relationships or other reason its quite different when mum or dad is left out deliberately . Two great dads yes but nothing can replace the love and nurture of mum.
The question I always ask is this .. is that fair on the children?? But let me reiterate I am sure these two guys are loving and committed dads and that is huge in any childs life and I absolutely wish them all the best .

OMG YESSS! I've been waiting for this video! This gives me hope and encouragement when I start my family with my bf in a few years! Our story is a little different because we are in an interracial relationship, and while we both want our DNA in our kids, we want our kids to be mixed (for obvious reasons) lol so we will need to have two different egg donors.

Thank you for this video. It was super helpful. I am so happy for you guys and what a beautiful family you have. 🥰 My husband and I are going to go through something similar hopefully next year. We do live in the Netherlands and it is not legal to "pay" a surrogate here but it is legal in countries all around us. (That just makes it more difficult for legal reasons) And also we were going to start the process this year but Covid19 made us have to rethink everything.
