      @Caitlyn A she's always the mother, that's biology. They'll likely want to know her when they grow up. Biological parents are sometimes not the ones who bring up children, but the kids thrive if the 2 "parents" love each other and love the child.

      @Andrew Walton I did a lot of soul-searching just to embark upon this journey and a lot more along the way. Believe me-- I've asked myself those questions a hundred times, and as you can see I made the leap, so the positives clearly outweighed the negatives. Will my kids (now four months old) have questions as they get older and notice that they don't have a mommy like other kids? Yep. Will I be honest with them every single time they ask those questions? Yep. Will they be surrounded by love in all of its forms for their whole lives? If I have anything to say about it-- yes indeed!
      There are a lot of forms of "family", Andrew-- and frankly, your narrow definition doesn't really matter to me or my kids in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for taking a massive life-changing decision and reducing it to some unsolicited criticism in the form of a RUclips comment, though. You're really giving back to the world. 👍🏻

    • @benfarmer-webb1016
      @benfarmer-webb1016 4 года назад +22

      @Andrew Walton men and women don't actually bring anything different to parenting, only different parents do. I was raised without my father and I'm not struggling. What matters is a stable home and quite a lot of the time a single parent can be more stable than a couple because you dont have the threat if arguments and break ups

    Here in Bulgaria it's forbidden by the low to have a child by surrogate mother ;( It is so unfair since I have a problem and can't have children. I wish my boyfriend to be able to become a father. It's his dream and he left it because of me ;( I pray one day to change the low and see him being a father ;( Actually I can get pregnant but I can't carry the child for more than 2 months. If the surrogate was allowed probably I also could have my own child ;( This low, isn't it a discrimination of people with reproductive problems?!

    Egg from one woman, uterus from another woman, sperms from two different men ,two babies. When these babies will grow up, they will not get a mother in their lives. I can not imagine without my mother. When other kids will celebrate mothers day, they will wonder how their mother look like.

    Whilst I have no doubt these 2 men will love these children I just feel its so wrong and selfish maybe to bring children into the world who will grow up without the nuture and love of their mother. Children are meant to have a mum and a dad thats how nature and God intended it. Man and Women make them and raise them.. its natural and its normal but deliberately leaving out mum is not.... Yes there are plenty of broken homes where one parent is missing or both even but its not normally planned that way . Male and female bring balance in a way 2 men cant because none of them can be mum and a child should not have to grow up without its mother .. it may be legal but is it fair and right for the children,, The only concession I see is that the children will be loved and yes that is huge but no mum does mean the children miss out on a hugely important mentor in their lives.

    I had 3 children and my first without an epidural and the other two with an epidural. My first labor I was young and had no clue about the pain and when I finally asked for something for pain my doctor said I'm too far now to receive an epidural so they just gave me some pain medication which is like a morphine and it definitely makes it harder for your infant to take that first breathe. It took some hard pats on back but you could definitely tell something was not right and you can hear the doctor stress and panic as he patting my son and saying come on buddy breathe. Thank God he did. But my biggest fear when I was pregnant the other 2 times was that what if I get an epidural and it doesn't work. I mean that happens like it did here. But yea to get an epidural and not work and labor is the worst pain I ever been through in my life.

    However you become a parent is fine with me BUT I hope all parents realize that parenting doesn't stop at 18, and every child deserves a good start into adulthood. It hurts my heart when I see kids having to pay for their own post-secondary education - parents pay it, you brought them into this world and you had 18 years to save. Also, giving them a good start to life means getting them a car, helping them with wedding expenses, and also helping with a down payment for their first place. It surprises how many parents just parent up to 18 and that's it. You know all of this when your child is born - there are expenses related to not only their childhood years (0-17) such as activities, sports, etc. I get that not everyone can afford it but why bring children into this world if you cannot provide them with opportunities to succeed???!!??! In those situations, it's very selfish but if you can provide those opportunities to succeed, then it's selfless.

      fanofmany71 Being s good parent means teaching your child to stand on their own feet. Mollycoddling your child is not teaching your child to be self sufficient as an adult or teach them if they want things in life they must work for it themselves. All these attitudes is teaching Your child to be selfish and your teaching your child that mum and dad is a bottomless walking bank. There is nothing wrong with kids making their own way in life. For example I wanted riding lessons as the eldest of four daughters my parents couldn’t afford it, the solution I went out and worked for my riding lessons at the age of fourteen. Never did me any harm, has taught me to be responsible, independent and self respect and self pride. Kids need to learn to be independent young adults who are responsible for themselves.

After that I was on my own, 3rd year worked as paid Intern, earning enough to complete my degree. I never resented that. In fact m grateful. I think she gave me enough to start my life.
      Never expected her to pay for my car, downpayment for my apartment. That sounds ridiculous to me.

      I'm sorry but no parent pays for their kids university tuition when it is the child's choice on whether they go or not. And parents are not entitled to buying children a car if they di its because they can dn they want to. That attitude creates entitled generation that think that their parents will pay for eveyrhutng and they will not learn about how much of a slippery slope it is and how hard being at rock bottom is

    12:30 You shouldn't kiss a baby on the mouth, you may not know that you've got cold sores/herpes and if you'd pass that on to a baby the baby may become severely disabled for life.

    Lovely family! How do deal with issues regarding race? Are you teaching the twins that their family is unique having a white dad and a black dad?

    Does anyone know: if you use a surrogate and have twins, is the cost twice as much? Just curious how that works..

    Nothing for Nothing, I assume she’s laughing her way to the bank 🤣, However, as long as those innocent babies are safe and get the love and guidance to mould them in in a decent abiding citizen that’s all that matters,

    Shame on you! Trafficking organs is illegal and so should be commercial child surrogacy. A child has the right to have his father and his mother. This is not about adults rights but about children's rights
