These things immediately became my go-to scouts. If anything I feel like they are what a scout should be from a performance standpoint. Not idiot-proof by any means and nobody's first choice for a cargo run, but they're not really stopped by the bumps and shallow mud that make most of the pickup/SUV scouts operate in slow motion. I find myself gravitating towards the SX due to its better on road stability and always on locks, although the LTi still gets plenty of use down the more sketchy trails.
Oh now it shows up. Honestly I didn't get much use out of the smaller scouts anyways, I get what they were going for with those smaller scouts but they are not very good at actual scouting. I think the Yar was the only one I used on a regular basis.
I'm glad they didn't give them a flatbed option (Ik it's licencing thing ) and can't haul cargo well, as I really don't want them power creeping heavy duty trucks which is what a it seems some people wanted these to do.
So yesterday i have used the LTi to explore Imandra with Tayga as support vehicle with fuel add on. I have explored 2/3 of the map with no big issues (chain tyres) . I have to say that i was impressed with its stability and rock crawler performance. The only problem is very deep snow and hawling power . I managed to tip over the Tayga but the LTi is to weak to tip it back to its wheels. So I have bring the DAN all over from Lake Kovd garage for help.
Thank you, Nathan, for the review. Honestly, I love these new scouts. Though, everything you said is true, I only have one downside for these two: horrible, horrible engine sounds! The LTi being the worst engine I ever heard in my life. The revs on the idle sound feels like a stuck accelerator pedal, holding the engine at 3000 revs/minute. If the devs dial down the revs on these engine sounds, both new scouts will be just perfect, non-OP vehicles. Cheers, Mario. Edit: And the lights need to be brighter. I can hardly see at night.
I tried both. S tier scouts I think. I prefer the SX, with it's always on diff and slightly higher repair points. Though it is a bit less stable. I prefer the looks of the LTI though. Still, love the radar. No dragging that heavy trailer behind my scouts anymore. It is slightly less effective than the trailer, but hey, with it's speed and offroad capability mean it can make it up by traveling fast to those greyed out areas. Love them, but I feel like one would have been enough and maybe a heavy duty truck. It's great tho that we get more vehicles in this patch. The previous only had two mostly, with only early seasons coming with more than two trucks. Also in the upsides I think you can say that the LTI is extremely easy to unlock early game, the first mission in the region, drive around the map, repair and refuel. That is not ideal, as it makes the game siginficantly easier, but man, that suspension upgrade on the small island where the bridge pillar is in the south of the first map was hella annoying to get. I had to load up a scout onto a truck and use the crane to drop it onto the island. Currents are very strong there.
Hi, thanks for content. I like smaller roamee LTi, I used them for many missions even to bring big service treiler. Their stock tyres pretty good. Austria is very goodlooking map :)
Just got the SX last night and it’s pretty impressive. Even without a lift or dlc tires I had no problems getting around in pretty much everything. I’m not a big fan of the LT’s engine noise, engine idle noise sounds like a mechanical issue. But between these two and the F750, they’re really the only scouts you need.
Indeed I believe it. Those collision models show they come with an imbeded lift esssentially. Oh yes the engine noise is not good. I coulda added that in here, but I just wanted to focus on performance
The both struggle under load. SX a little more due to power to weight. I still observe similar lock ups with both, but yes the LTi is much superior in my humble opinion
These have been fun to use so far, but I still somewhat prefer the F750 currently. Still need to compare them on one of the older maps. My only nitpick is that I wish they didn't say "SERVICE" on the side when the option is equipped
I love these new scouts so much, but as more and more seasons come and go, it feels weird that the f750 hasn't gotten the ability to swap between light and heavy trailer hitches, we now have 3 different scouts that have this feature, and i feel like the f750 is uniquely designed for this buff (good versatility with low pulling power) anyway f750 rant over, great video, God bless
I would agree with that. I actually think the F750 and the Earthroamers should only have scout hitches. Even the butlak. They’re not really designed to pull heavy weight and the smaller 2 slot cargo scout beds would be perfect for those folks that want to utilize their cargo hauling ability (which is not the greatest).
It really feels like these trucks are born to be support trucks and trailer fetchers. Seeing I wonder if we will see a new style F-750 that offers better power and fuel economy than the original F-750 at a much higher entry cost and a durability reduction as well.
I doubt we will see the likes of something similar to the F750. I could be very wrong though. I felt these trucks in the PTS were support and trailer dependent. Now, not so much, but I use them as such
They are pretty good. I think I’m inclined to use the customs due to the insane ground clearance. For the SX the doubles could be a good idea for extra stability
I really wish every update provided an upgrade for one to two old trucks to make them more viable options late game. Like is it too much to ask for a better engine for the p12 or something similar for other trucks?
As good as they are, they are still scouts and there isn't much value to them. What I do want are some off-road trucks, more specifically those of Soviet origin. I beleive that its the one cateogory that has been abandoned (relatively speaking) and I would love to see some old school offroad monsters before this game ends (how many seasons are left anyway?)
Another great review Nathan. They look good and interesting to a certain degree, but not good enough, not worth it. What's the point of adding a really cool and very welcome addon as an internal radar, just to nerf it compared to the annoying trailer, that's very dumb.
Thank you! :) Well if they gave it a better radar, then it would render the trailer in game useless and then no one would use the trailer ever. They can’t give this truck everything
As cool as they are, I feel like these trucks should have been a standalone dlc. They don't really fit in with Austria. Would have liked to see a Unimog representing the region instead.
I see what you mean, but truthfully pretty much most DLC Regional Truck additions feel this way. I dont think Saber thinks about regional specific trucks
Hey glad you found the channel. I’d check out my “other information SnowRunner videos” playlist. These have informational videos on tires, mud running, and other mechanics about gearboxes and torque
Truthfully, in hardmode, as long as you follow my hardmode guide video showing how to capitalize on free fuel and do your contests 5x (which I did not do contests) it doesn’t matter what trucks you use. You will have an abundance of cash flow that you can almost play hardmode as if it is normal after a while
Glad they don't have a flatbed, but because they dont have a pickup bed, only a large camper, I'll never use em. And the fact the ford has a lawn mower full throttle sounding engine 😂 Impressed with their off-road abilities though. Very good scouters
Yea but in reality there about 1,000 lbs lighter or more, nothing inside. From reality I've seen videos of twisted driveshafts, broken steering, and the road collapse underneath the weight. That much weight is going to break parts if your offroading is more than a nice dirt road. But its a game would not be fun if you went a 100 feet of rock crawling and broke.
Indeed. I don’t think I said they were meant to off-road as a primary focus IRL, just they a they can get to locations with their setup. In game they are just well.. crazy
@@NProvince Sure they do, and they look great. Just wish they had more weight and a better sounding engine, other than that, it's a great all around truck.
And imagine a new functionality, called "camping", giving it a temporary "camping" model with chair, table, umbrella, a cooler, etc, and it's functionality would be to fast forward time even in hardcore mode. That would be rp and fun, while also being useful to a degree.

Ya i feel alot of folks are gonna use these instead of smaller scouts now
For whatever reason your comment isn't showing Nate

Ahh yes the engine sounds are not good. I probably shoulda put that in there tbh
2 awesome trucks. My only complaint is how the LTi Ford looks in dualies. It needs some fender flares for them.
I see a few of these every once in a while cruising around Alaska. Cool vehicles but damn, they’re like $500,000.
500k!? Wow!

Great review of two superb scouts!
The Roamers are really good. The SX is more tippy and struggles uphill, but the LTi is perfect.
The both struggle under load. SX a little more due to power to weight. I still observe similar lock ups with both, but yes the LTi is much superior in my humble opinion
A flatbed may be overpowered but i would still like to see some other bed options even if just cosmetic

My only nitpick is that I wish they didn't say "SERVICE" on the side when the option is equipped
They are fun to use for sure. The F750 definitely is still very powerful. Oh yes the service on the side isn’t the greatest
I like and prefer the SX due to the interior matching my IRL silverado.
Nice! Ya interior is nice

Would have been nice if the vehicles these were based on were released as an Anniversary DLC which was free.
Free woulda been nice, but we haven’t had an anniversary DLC in 3 years sadly
Thry for once are a reare enjoyable scout. They have aupport repair, radars. They feel like you can d rivebinto the wilderness

kind of sad they made the scouting dash mode unusable to make this truck work

The SX is easily my favorite scout now
The rp potential of the rv's and them still being able to do things tickles my enjoyment
I also like pulling the large scout service trailer as it looks good as heck too and adds so much service rescue
