Mik, you don't have to thank me... we do have to thank you very much for sharing with us your habilities.... And... I'm just trying to be fair with you and your art... Cause you deserve it....
Today is August 12 and Father's Day here in Brazil, I can not help comparing him to Geppetto and his child generated from some pieces of wood. Congratulations
Told me all I need to know to recreate, I hope, this neat little router, with the few tools I have. All accompanied by a lovely piece of relaxing music. Think I will watch it again. thanks.
Mikhandmaker I'm sorry that you had to translate my review :) I thought, if it's even written in Chinese here, then it should be in Russian;) but on the topic: a hand drill would be too old school :)) about a hand instrument: I bought myself an electric instrument different in the garage, and now came to the fact that manual is sometimes better: easier to use, less space takes. Although, what do I tell? you know it better than me;) (sorry for the translation)
Don't worry, although for me sometimes is difficult to answer some comments because of the language, I love having these because it means that my videos reach different places around the world!! Thanks!!
Saludos
I love the idea of using the mirror to keep an eye on the other side of the cut. That's a problem I have always had, to be following the line on my side and have the other side go off track. I look forward to trying that out.
I have made the plane! I replaced the brass plate with wooden one with a nut in it. And I made an additional groove in the bed to be able to use two different blades (I use 15 mm and 6 mm wide chisels as blades). And it works! Thank you again for sharing this video!
Thanks for telling me!! That's a good idea, I would like to see your final result!! If you want send me a photo to my email that you can find in the channel information.
Yet another beautiful, useful project for me to copy. Between your projects an my honey do's, I'm having a difficult time keeping up, even though retired. Keep up the good work and thanks for the video.
Nice! One modification I would make is to have the base extend further out in front of the blade to make it easier to cut in from the edge of the workpiece.
Very clean looking video. At approx. 4:30, what is the tool you are using to remove material on the curved part? I couldn't see it too clearly on the video. Thanks for a reply.
Gorgeous video! A pleasure to see it as well as hear it. Skillful and thoughtful editing made for an entertaining (and highly informative) viewing. Thank you for such outstanding work.
I stumbled on this channel by accident and this is the second video I've watched and I've loved both. I also enjoy the choice in music, very soothing. You have yourself a new subscriber :-)
Wow - i have been toying with the idea of either buying or making a router plane. I've watched several videos on some hand-made ones and tested out a few Stanley's and Veritas ones. But - your design and execution shown on this video has convinced me that i ought to make my own. I am going to follow your design, just perhaps a little larger. Very beautifully and well done there. +1 Sub Thumbs Up!!!
I'm very happy to hear that, the idea of making it larger will allow you to make bigger pressure with stronger woods. I would love to see the result if you finally encourage to make it. Thanks for the comment Erik!!
Hello!!! Nice to see your works in wood. Is it possible that you would tell me how to get the instruments you work with, the whole gamut of tiny instruments around the table?
Thanks!! I don't know which instruments are you referring to, my table sometimes is a mess, please tell me the minute of the video in which they appear.
Wow! Its amazing to see someone take so much pride in thier work, a lot of videos with people making everything, but with use of machinery, and all so proud of themselves, even though they only done 1/8 of the work... Great video! By far the best diy video ive seen. Keep up the great work^_^
Excellent work, and beautiful piece. Only one question: Isn't it too small? With no protruding part on the front may be difficult to attack the piece of wood from the outside.
I have used it with softwoods where it's no necessary to make so much strength but it's true that with hardest woods it would be better a bigger router plane so that you can make more strength, you would have more gripping surface. Thank your Gaetano!!
Love the cleaning up of the poor man's router idea from Paul Sellers I've been hanging out on intructables.com for a while now, and How-Tos about router plane are rare, you should definitely make one !
What a fantastic hand made piece of kit , very talented, 1 question the piece that you hammered in to place what are they called please and where would I purchase them ,many thanks bri
Very nice work. Prefer to hear people explain as they go along, however today, I just decided to watch... typically I skip videos that no one speaks. Still job well done.
Thanks Lee. I decided not to speak in my videos because of the language, I'm from Spain, so that by this way I can reach more people. Because of this, I try to make the videos as clear as possible. I'm glad you liked it, thank for your comment!

What is the wood that you use for the main base of the planer it looks like Sycamore I worked with it many times beautiful wood a lot of people overlook let me know if I was correct
Mikhandmaker awesome I thought so and it's so great to see somebody Implement Sycamore into their woodworking it's very rare that you even see people think about that wood it's so beautiful. thank you for your quick and exclamation reply that just earned you a subscribe

Today I discovered the best woodworking chain. You just won a subscriber! Thanks for everything you do!
Thank you very much for your words Quentin!! I appreciate it.
Told me all I need to know to recreate, I hope, this neat little router, with the few tools I have. All accompanied by a lovely piece of relaxing music. Think I will watch it again. thanks.
Without large tools, nice tools can be built. I encourage you to try it!! Thanks
The best make-it-yourself video on this type of plane that I've seen!
I'm very happy to hear that Max, I appreciate your comment!!
Adding the "illustrations" of technique and potential applications was nice. I learned several lessons.
Thanks so much, appreciate you stopping by to leave a comment.
Mr Sellers will be proud of you! Very well done sir ;)
Thanks for the comment ;-)

I'm sorry that's not a plane it's a work of art . Kick ass video and job thank you 👍👍👍👍👍😃🇺🇸
Great craftsmanship! Whole video almost felt magical
Thanks mate!

Making tools to make tools, that make tools. Love it. Attention to detail is top shelf.
I've been looking to buy a router plane, wow they are expensive. You have put one within my reach, thank you. A lovely job you have done.
Unmatched simplicity. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Thank you for the comment! ;-)
Not only did I love the visual, but the soundtrack was awesome!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Saludos
You did not use any power tools to make this tool, you really are an artist. Clean and elegant work Bravo
So nice. I love the adjustment plate and knob/bolt idea. That is thinking outside the box on that one for sure.
Thank so much Thomas
I love the idea of using the mirror to keep an eye on the other side of the cut. That's a problem I have always had, to be following the line on my side and have the other side go off track. I look forward to trying that out.
It is a very effective way and it works fine. Thanks for comment!!
thats a solid Rob Cosman move.
wickedmessenger1 I agreed!
No, that's a solid Mikhandmaker move! No ego, just artisanship.
lol until I read your comment I thought he used the mirror for a nice shot in the video. Thx 4 the enlightment
Muchas gracias, espero utilizarlo mucho!
Fine craftsmanship. Uplifting music. An inspiring video. You have my gratitude!

Hi Thomas, I'm happy that this project also like you!! Thanks for comment.

Excellent Job.The hands and mind of a true craftsman.
What beautiful words, Thank you Joe!!
A truly enjoyable video, its great to see something done where you can see the craftsman takes pride in his work, thanks for sharing.
Truly I enjoy working with hand tools, thanks!!
Hola Mikel.
Jordi! Mil gracias, me gusto eso de maestro 😉
This makes me want to give up powertools entirely and buy some hand tools. Inspiring!
Hahaha, I encourage you at least to try some works with them, sure you become addicted ;-)
Hola Mikel

Just a question - where on earth would i find a threaded insert like that that you are able to essentially peen over the back of the brass insert?
It's easy to find in hardware stores or you can find it searching at google "rivet nuts".
So relaxing.
Gracias Marco.

Thanks Chris, I am very happy with it :-)
Brilliant, all I need to know now is the gauge of the brass plate. Would you tell us that please?
Hi, I understand that you refer to the thickness of the brass that is 1,6mm, thanks!!
Wow! Its amazing to see someone take so much pride in thier work, a lot of videos with people making everything, but with use of machinery, and all so proud of themselves, even though they only done 1/8 of the work...

Great tutorial if only my projects went as sooth and calm as this I wouldn't need to curse myself so much. Thanks
:-))) Thanks David!!
Stop cursing yourself and your projects will go smoothly :)
Excellent work, and beautiful piece.
