I am currently in the same challenge as you, because the prices of one router plane can cost 1250 dollars here in Brazil. Yours router pane is incredible. Your work is magnificent. The design is very clean. congratulations . yours router plane is the best home made in the world.
As a teacher of metalwork I give 10 out of 10 for this project, an excellent demonstration of techniques with an end result to be proud of. Only one small observation, always use a brush, not your fingers to remove metal filings from your workpiece, this will prevent painful metal splinters,
Bright, real, brilliant, awesome. Don´t ever look back, my friend... And don´t even care about possible negative comments...Because of you, that´s why so many people in this planet became sharp and wise about what they expecting from their futures... providing that they want to follow your steps...as simple as that... And your "excuses" are very welcome, regarding people who don´t know the "how to"...But let´s face it, life it´s only hard for the ones who are soft...regarding my opinion, you are showing me the other way to do the job, and that´s enough for me ...You are a champ, that´s wht you are , and you have all my sincere respects, because I can see a good person , by the way thigs come to "light" as you did...God bless you.
FREAKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! IVE made a router from wood before. Now that im into metal work, i think im going to give this a shot. Thanks for the inspiration
Amazing work coming from the most common of tools. I damn near forgot they even made hacksaws these days with everyone using the grinders !! Nicely done...
Really easy to make different sizes now. That's not an incredibly hard tool to make but man u are probably the most patient individual I know of. All that filing with hardly any power tools is something u don't see today. Nice work
Великолепная работа. Очень показательно для молодых, что можно обычными средствами сделать инструмент не хуже, чем на фрезеровочном станке. НО! Его зато можно передать внукам и гордится:"Дед сделал!". ))))
very nice. Well worth the time I spent watching. Its always a pleasure seeing quality, much of what we see today is for the mass market and those people don't appreciate those of the master craft. Thanks RC
When bending steel you should warm it properly to at least red hot because steel is fragile in 300-400°C. So don't be a "smith of cold steel". Anyway, nice design and well executed using just basic tools. You know how to use file which is quite rare these days
Nice! I made one with a brass body and allen key as a cutter. I tried wood first, but wasn't happy with it, so made a second body using brass. Might pinch your depth stop idea.
I also experimented with allen keys but couldn't find one that was hard enough. The depth stop isn't really my idea. There are commercial models with the same principle.
Where do you get your saw blades and files at!? They cut soo fast!! Haha. Just joshin, but seriously.. What is the brand of pull saws you use? I've been looking for some new ones and better than what I have been using. Thanks!
Hi great project, looks a great way to build this tool. Can i suggest that you make your central cutter support the same height as the brass block. That way you could set the depth gauge by simply inserting a spacer between the holding block and the depth gauge block while cutter is set flush with the router base, similar to setting the depth of a power router.
truly great work sir, all that hard work and hand made work epically at that. inspiring it was very much so that I'm actually going to try it and thank you.

*Holy cow* ! This is one hell of a *masterpiece* . All hand crafted - no milling here. You've got every reason to be proud of it.
Thanks!

Wow, thanks!
In these days of CNC machines, its good to see someone that's able to use a file and a hacksaw! - well done!
A file, a hacksaw, a drillpress and sandpaper... awesome craftsmanship. You are an inspiration!

Haha, thanks!
Does the blueing prevent rust? Or is it purely cosmetic?

Superb Idea with easy to source materials and using tools the majority of people have
Just found your channel. This is artistry in motion. No fancy tools needed.

Very nice work man and all with simple tools.
So beautiful and also works! I wish I had such an ability.
Thanks! It mainly requires a bit of patience…
You are very good with a file, very experienced. A tool, ideal for the cabinetmaker and those building furniture with hand-tools. Excellent!!
Beautiful work, looks way better than anything bought, I want one!
Great job! I’m going to make two of these with a 10” and a 18” base plate to compliment the Stanley router plane I already own. Thanks for the idea.

so well done great job!
Thanks!
As a kid learning woodwork we didn't have routers, they weren't invented just yet, we used these, the grannies tooth plane. They are very effective.
What a great work!!
Thanks!

I have a question why don't you use adhesive spray for glueing sandpaper on the granite?
Because I find the double sided tape easier to remove when I have to change the sand paper.
@@imadethischannel ok thanks for responding I will try double tape
Very nice! Good looking router plane.
Thanks!
One of the nicest DIY router planes I’ve seen to-date !
You could also make a spear-headed cutter to use in it...
good idea!
Excellent job. What size brass stock did you use?
Thanks! The smaller collar was from 20 by 8mm stock, the larger one was 20 by 15.
Great experience, thank you for sharing this wonderful protect
Oi amigo, mais um excelente projeto. Realmente muito bom. Parabens...
Great work 🤘
Thanks!
Clever design
Awesome brother
And you can use it also as a dovetail laying jig ;). Great job!! So much filling, but it was really worth it!!
Haha, true! I hadn‘t thought of that.
Beautiful!! 😍😍
...but what a filing marathon!!! 😂
Haha, yes. It might not have been too far from 42 km worth of file strokes..
fantastic!! congratulations!!
Great work
Thanks!
Fine looking work. Also I’m going to need an affiliate link for that hacksaw blade. 🤣🤣

@@imadethischannel Yes I happen to have a good selection to choose from. Some are very soft.
Fantastic job and where can i get those hacksaw blades? 4 strokes and your done 😅
AMAZING!!! Can you please provide links to the various files you use?

Hey, do you mean the hack saw? It’s some no-name thing from the hardware store. I don’t buy specific blades.
I really like the use of marker for layout fluid
This router plane looks more solid than what’s available to buy out there
What are the dimensions of that mild steel T bar? Very nice project!
Hey, thanks for watching! The steel T bar was 70 by 70 mm and 8 mm thick.
Very impressive
Thanks!
Beautiful!!!

Amazing job , well done 👏 👏👏👏

From the video it appears that the steel cuts like butter! is it some kind of alloy or heat treatment that makes it cut easier?
It cuts like butter from the freezer! It‘s all in the editing...
Sangat menginspirasi banget kawan
