Sorry my colors are a little off. I'm still working on my new studio setup and it's more obvious than ever that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to camera work.
We can indeed, though I would just like to point out an error that person made: Bowser Jr. was left-handed in Sunshine, yet he's holding the brush with his right hand in Bowser's Fury. It's a small error, but after they made Link right-handed in Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, it's starting to get annoying.
@@VonFirflirch It's actually not clear if those were actually intended to make it to the final game though; if you look at some of the earliest prerelease footage of NSMB it was basically the SM64DS engine squashed into a sidescroller (you can even see Mario do other 64 moves like the sideflip and longjump).
Time for Nintendo to ignore all of this, not do any of it, and then *also* not do what their current pattern is and instead switch to some third unknown thing nobody could ever predict. As usual.
Bowser’s Fury is a great example of how Nintendo doesn’t need to innovate and make something never done before to make something of quality. They took old stuff from 3D World and put it in a new world similar to Odyssey, and pretty much everyone loves this game.
In a way they did innovate by combing element of 3D World with Odyssey. They made something new and fun out of existing ideas. It might not be completely new but it still works.
Using this model, they could also revive obscure franchises with a small, relatively low risk proof of concept to test the waters, then make a full release later if it succeeds.

My main problem with triple A games is the need to feel dedicated to them with their 100+ hour gameplay, making it harder to branch out. Bigger is better, but a sizeable experience would be nice.
@@Antasma1 Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. I think replayability is important, and if the future of video games is $70, then more content is vital, but I don't think games need that much length to be worth it. For example, the Resident Evil games are full single player experiences and are generally pretty short, and I would say they are fully worth $60.
The first time I scaled that massive tower in the snowy area with the windmills my mind was struggling to keep up with how awesome it was, rarely had I seen an area be so cool and surprisingly more challenging than many other Mario levels.
It also reminds you of two separate games as well: Odyssey with Bonneton-music focusing more on a winter landscape and Galaxy 2 given the island’s gimmick is a windmill like Cloudy Court Galaxy.
Mario Maker is another example of an asset reusing game that turns those assets on their head and utilizes them in a very creative way. I mean, half of Mario Makers assets are 30 years old.

I can see a ton of potential with something like that, and I could've sworn that such a game was being made back in 2020 given that there were all kinds of advertisements for such a game. But, alas, while there was a Warriors game that took place in some kind of alternate-timeline, there wasn't a prequel. Huh; what an opportunity it could've been...

What really sold this part of the game for me was that it had something most newer titles were lacking: The concept of a free-roam hub-world. The last Mario game that did it was, arguably small, SUper Mario Galaxy. Bowser's Fury, being a single world, had the feeling of just that while also feeling like a proper level. Mario 64 and Sunshine got stuck with me because the hub-world made them feel connected and not only like a hub to get to a level. Finding blue coins even in Piazza Delfino or finding secret entrances in the castle's walls was just brilliant and gave you the illusion of actually being in the game and not reading a chapter like in a book. Bowser's Fury just gave the same feeling to me, because it showed a interconnected world that still had its separate areas aka. levels. I'm a sucker for those hub-worlds that have more of a purpose than just being a hub. So while SMG was still fine with some one-ups and secrets to find, it was already closing down on the concept and just delivered because it was meaningful for the story. So here we got the potential to come back to those ideas and I'd love to see that.
Unrelated but I feel like They should package Bower's Fury into a separate game with extra stuff Mario 3D world + Bowser Fury is good but what if some want to play BF (bowser fury) and not SM3DW. Maybe it could only be available on the eshop And they could add extra things to it I feel like it would be a good idea Or port it to Wii U just cause its very similar to 3D world so it shouldn'y be that hard to port it (also cause i dont have a switch but I do have a Wii U)
I really like the ideas. I feel like Octo Expansion could have even been sold as one of those small titles. It’s its own standalone game, really. I’d love the zelda series to be a little more experimental. A smaller game from the perspective of zelda, ganon, or even a side character like Kass would be awesome.
Makes me wonder if we will only see 2D Mario games from here on out in the form of Mario Maker. 3D World feels like it takes the place of the 2D Mario slot.
As someone who didn't like Odyssey, I think a Bowser's Fury style 3D Mario has the potential to satisfy people like me, and the vast majority who think Super Mario Odyssey is a masterpiece, all praise Arlo, etc.
Love the idea! Reminds me of Kirby's Blowout Blast, a game they made out of a Robot mini game and sold separately. I would totally be down to pick up bite seized experiences like that based off my favorite franchises!
I can't help but think of the subgames that Kirby Super Star (Ultra) was split into. It's basically what this video describes: Smaller campaigns based upon the same game's assets. The difference being that they're packaged together, of course. But in today's day and age, one could sell them at a lower price seperately and eventually release a collection with all titles together.
Also, modders having been doing this concept for years with Nintendo's older games, it's just a shame that only now Nintendo appears to be seeing the potential of it.
The problem with this is that you think nintendo will sell these at cheaper prices. Nintendo is notorious for selling there stuff at full price or at the very least, close to it. And idk about you, but Im not with encouraging laziness from Nintendo. When it comes to ports, they already are. Id much rather a full game, with more expierences. Id rather developers take their time and make something like and odyssey rather than a bowsers fury. 10:40 proves my point. Why would I rather a small Donkey Kong experience for their anniversary as opposed to a full out new game, which at this point is way overdue. Why wouldnt you want retro to be invested in a new DK game? I can almost guarantee that if Nintendo were to adapt this philosophy, not only will they eventually abuse this to where newer fuller games will be less, but they will charge either full price or at a price VERY close to it. But that's just my view tho.
Sorry my colors are a little off. I'm still working on my new studio setup and it's more obvious than ever that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to camera work.

Lol Kane’s ending bit
Amazing editing as always, Kane. Especially that last big; all things said by Arlo.
Unrelated but I feel like They should package Bower's Fury into a separate game with extra stuff
Mario 3D world + Bowser Fury is good but what if some want to play BF (bowser fury) and not SM3DW.
Maybe it could only be available on the eshop
And they could add extra things to it
I feel like it would be a good idea
Or port it to Wii U just cause its very similar to 3D world so it shouldn'y be that hard to port it (also cause i dont have a switch but I do have a Wii U)
The Kane edit was really funny! Also Arlo made some good points in this video
“If it’s good for your business, do more of it!”
Except loot boxes.
Do less of that, please.
The outro shows that kane is not only a great editor, but that arlo's content has ytp potential
Can’t lie an Arlo ytp channel needs to happen now
Facts.
All worth it for Arlo's little edit at the end.
So that means we get to save Marin from being trapped as a seagull forever ?
I really like the ideas. I feel like Octo Expansion could have even been sold as one of those small titles. It’s its own standalone game, really.
I’d love the zelda series to be a little more experimental. A smaller game from the perspective of zelda, ganon, or even a side character like Kass would be awesome.
Love that outro. Lol
yea Bowser JR needs to be in more Nintendo projects, he is so interesting
Bowser Jr: "The future is now old man!"
Thanks Kane!
Makes me wonder if we will only see 2D Mario games from here on out in the form of Mario Maker. 3D World feels like it takes the place of the 2D Mario slot.
I’m very excited for the new Arlo montage vids! Sounds great!
16:34
Is this the first Arlo YTP? And it's official, too, damn! xD
Man all of my favourite content creators are making content today. I can’t keep up. This is so good.
I still can't believe that there still aren't any Mario rpg games for the Nintendo switch.
Paper Mario
@@user-cp2ft2og6m not really an rpg...
@@user-cp2ft2og6m not really rpg
It's messed up how we went from 2 dedicated Mario RPG franchises... to none.
Does Mario + Rabbids count lol
I can’t believe Kane snuck a YTP into the end of the video. What a madlad
Its better then constantly ragging on Nintendos obvious flaws to be honest
I've never gone "Here he goes again" more audibly when seeing an Arlo thumbnail
You should totally just do a video on the toxicity of 60 buck price tags.
top tier outro kane! lovely.
When we get a full length 3D Mario game with zero interruptions or loading screens like this I’m gonna be so jazzed
That ending lol!
I can only imagine how long it must have taken Kane to find all of those very specific clips for the outro
Also, modders having been doing this concept for years with Nintendo's older games, it's just a shame that only now Nintendo appears to be seeing the potential of it.
have they?
That stitched together ending was incredible!
So, the truth finally comes out. Your love has been a lie all this time! I'm so jealous of Kane now.
