I went from an Army infantry platoon to an Army Reserve company that trained ROTC Cadets.. it was a joke.. I threatened to call the fraud waste and abuse hotline on the entire company for receiving their paychecks
Bro you described my experience perfectly. 4 years active in the Army, showed up to 2 drills for the reserves and never showed up again. The entire "drill weekend" was spent sitting in a gym doing nothing but "getting green" on everyone's paperwork. They were wearing mismatching uniforms that went out of commission 2 years before. It was embarrassing to even be in the ranks with them
The reason most active duty personnel leave the reserves is because the reserves is a joke, I did active duty Marines for 4 years then got out and did another 4 years in the navy reserves then 14 years in active duty army. But the reserves life was a complete waist of time and a joke.
I do agree with you, if you in a reserved unit that kinda on point they do cramp alot in 1 week
