As an Australian it’s my national duty to stand up for Parkway drive. They are brilliant and 100% should be above bad omens on the billing.

Man I remember seeing Mayhem Fest as my first concert when I was 7 in 2015, final year they did it. Sadly I fucking fell asleep during Slayer cause 7 year old me couldn’t handle late stuff 😭

I like that they’re having younger bands on the bill. It gives them a headlining push. Bands like Slipknot, Korn, Slayer, etc. are getting old and can’t tour forever. Eventually the torch needs to be passed down
Iv been saying that for a while now. We can’t keep relying on all these legacy acts to headline these festivals. They aren’t going to be around forever. Heck in the 7 year run that Mayhem had. There were 3 repeating headliners. Slipknot (3 times), Slayer (3 times), and Rob Zombie (2 times). It’s time to let new talent carry the scene.

I personally like the lineup, I love Jinjer, Hanabie, Suicide Silence, and want to see Kittie since I missed out on them at Sick New World. Hopefully tickets won't be too pricy

Yeah, pass the torch... to good bands. Bad Omens are like an even worse version of BMTH.
@@ejl1000 Who would you rather headline? The bands they picked can sell a ton of tickets. Even if you dont like them they are here to make money and those bigger headline bands bring in the crowds and expose fans to the smaller bands. Its a win win.
Mayhem fest 2012 was the best just for having Slayer and Motorhead play back to back.

Funny thing, the glen helen raceway is right next to the amphitheater and on the same day of the festival there’s a 24 hour dirt bike race that I’m competing in. I find that much more exciting than this lineup 😂
Went to Mayhem in 2010 and blacked out during Hatebreed’s set. Came to when 3 Inches of Blood was closing out the sidestage.
I think it’s cool enough where I’d go if it came near Baltimore but I wouldn’t travel more than a couple hours at max for it
I mean, at least it has waaaaay more variety than Summer Slaughter this year, so that I can respect. It actually feels like a tour Mayhem Fest would put on, for what that's worth, and some of the new acts piqued my interest. Ultimately, the one-off isn't my speed, but it does gives me some hope for 2025's touring lineup.

I remember Ozzfest came back in the same way in Texas one year with Metallica. Not sure this one's worth the trip for me.
*Also just read that Bad Omens are headlining this years Upheaval Fest here in Michigan so I have the option closer to home.

Wanted to See Social D and Suicidal this year..... but not in MurderDino and with that mixed crowd.... It will be on the news. There will be Bodies. Hope you're hitting the cruises next year. I went to Mayhem back in 2013. I hope and pray to god they know how to mix sound because it was ATROCIOUS when I went. Mastodon's set in particular suffered the most due to the hot, distorted mics.
Mastodon was hot garbage in Dallas that year, but everyone else was pretty good

Besides the big headliners, all the other bands are great and tonally make sense.

The depth of this festival is good. Parkway is a really good top end band as well. Bad Omens is perplexing as the top but it's not as bad as people are saying

Yeah, that's a pass for me. 15yr old me loved 2007 Mayhem fest seeing Slipknot, Mastodon and Psychostick. Was the first festival for me so it was pretty surreal. I do remember drinking free Rockstar's because water way way too expensive.

That lineup was...its a line up. I think its horrible but objectively its not bad. Like even if it was free id have to be in the mood. Definitely would have to already have work off because i wouldnt use a day on this. Like it feels like a festival with no Headliners just second teir bands
But in all seriousness, the 2009 MayhemFest lineup was untouchable. Each of the stages - individually - could have been super-stacked tours on their own...especially the 3rd stage with Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Behemoth, Job For a Cowboy, and Whitechapel....goddamn. 🤯
...except for Marilyn Manson as the headliner...his live show sucked that year lol.
If that was the year with Slayer I actually met Kerry King after one of the shows and he said Manson sucked that night lol

Huge asshole and head of Sumerian Records (who organizes Summer Slaughter) bought the rights to Mayhem Fest, so of course it sucks. Kevin Lyman, dude who originally organized it (and Warped) has nothing to do with it anymore. Hate that fests now are either the huge rock ones with some extreme metal or shit like Metal Threat that’s exclusively obscure stuff with some nazis thrown in lol. Those Decibel Magazine mini fests are usually the sweet spot to me, wish there was more stuff like that and MDF kicking around.
Jinjer are good but they aren't metal, they are Progressive Metalcore.
