Marie-Anne Izmajlov (known also as Manca Izmajlova) is a singer of many dimensions.

I remember my father singing this song at gatherings with friends many years ago , Dimitri, was in the Red Army in WW2, he was a good man, happy and friend to many after the miserable life he had during the war.

Whit my whole respect, any other Russian WW2 song sounds like propaganda. But in this song, there's no heroism, not winning the battle or giving the best for the country. Only suffering from the poor people and their families, wich is exactly what the war is.
