Back in the Meiji Era, Noristoshi had the woman have nine pregnancies and nine abortions and he stored the fetuses which were called Death Paintings. For Death Paintings to be incarnated, they need a physical body. Depending on the body's resistance, either the curse or the body takes control of the appearance of it. Due to which, Kechizu looked like a curse, while Eso and Choso looked like humans. However they are neither humans, nor cursed spirits, since they are half-curse inside and their body doesnot disintegrate when they are killed. Out of all Death Paintings, the first three are special grade (Choso, Eso and Kechizu). So far, Choso has the hereditary technique of the Kamo Clan, Blood Manipulation. While Eso and Kechizu had Rot Technique.

That twisted Mei Mei scene, no matter how depraved, it strikes the sharp contrast between sorcerers like her and Nanami. She embodies all the bad qualities a sorcerer (that hasn't completely gone evil ofc) can have. While Nanami embodies the complete opposite, a real sorcerer and teacher, even if he despised it, it was his duty to fulfill. Nanami fought till the very end in Shibuya while dreaming of going to Malaysia. Meanwhile, Mei Mei dipped out of Shibuya, is only thinking about financial gains and losses, without a care in the world. And guess where she is? Enjoying her life in Malaysia.....

Okay I know Mei Mei and Ui UI’s scene is messed up, but Gege wanted to show how fu*ked up the jujutsu world is.
Mei Mei is obsessed with money and she ends up raking all the benefits (there are a lot of people like her) meanwhile someone like Nanami who was a good person ends up getting nothing.
Notice how Nanami wanted to go to Malaysia and where is Mei Mei now? In Malaysia taking advantage of her brother.
I hope Ui Ui realizes that someday and ends up getting out of it.

Okay look, I keep seeing people say that the scene about mei mei having sex with her younger brother in this scene or alludes to it, especially in the manga.
But when I look at it, I don't see anything that proves that. Ui Ui is fully clothed and is just curled up being his weird usual self towards mei mei, even though she is naked, she seems to only tease him about his weird infatuation and nothing more. Plus the fact that when she talks about how tired his is, is mostly referring to his actual technique to move large distances more than anything, especially since it hasn't even been 30mins since her encounter with "geto". I don't believe anything sexual happened in this scene and no one can even prove it besides mei mei being the only one naked.
Also no, I'm not defending her, she still teases him, but she is still a piece of shit with money and such. But people gotta stop bitching about this scene unless they have actual proof about them banging. Can still criticize it being weird though.

Choso vs "fake" Geto was amazing. They extended the fight a bit more than it was in the manga and made it even more glorious. Choso's piercing blood technique gives us some gorgeous fights ngl. They killed it with the Ost too.
you guys should rewatch the episode in season 1 where they explain what the death paintings are, it should make things a little clearer :) kamo noritoshi (or rather that thing that's possessing his body) was doing experiments by "breeding" humans and cursed spirits, choso and his other brothers are all results of that. now, what does that have to do with yuji? you'll find out eventually

Yeah bro is correct Uzumaki combines cursed spirits and cursed spirits used can't be reused after using them for Uzumaki which is why it didn't seem appealing to fake-geto (Yes mahito is gone). But he later realised that if you use a semi special grade curses or higher for Uzumaki the technique of the curse gets extracted so even when he loses the curse he can still use it's technique

Don’t worry about the Choso and Yuuji being brothers thing too much right now. There’ll be deeper explanation further down the line.
The Mei Mei scene is really contrast to Nanami and how unfair the Jujutsu world is.
Nanami while dying lamented how he wished to go to Malaysia. But he chose to come back and fight for good and help the youth rather than living for money. He dies gruesomely.
Mei Mei on the other hand, ended up collecting her pay, dipped out to Malaysia, only cares about herself and is grooming youth for her own personal benefit.
Mei mei's interaction with her brother is a microcosm of how Jujutsu society works.
It's also interesting how that scene happens after Yuji's battle with Mahito as he declares himself "a cog in the machine"
I will not say anything regarding the Choso and Yuji relationship but didn't you find it strange that Yuji, without any cursed technique or whatever is superhumanly strong, and also was able to host Sukuna inside of himself?

Choso has a good sense when it comes to his blood. He was able to know when his brothers died instantly so this episode does confirm it bc his sense of blood is good. Next season is when they go more in depth

I finally understand why Manga readers love Choso.
Uruame (the Ice technique user who knows sukuna) has shown up twice so far, 1 time In season 1, and I time in season 2, don't worry they'll show up more later on.
They actually showed up once s1 and 2 other times s2. This is the 3rd time in s2
I will try to explain the Supreme Art: Uzumaki.
Basically, Uzumaki just combined a large amount of cursed spirits and fuses them into a strong cursed energy attack. "The brain" thought that this was a bad Supreme Technique because it sacrifices a lot of versatility for some extra damage.
However, that is not all that Uzumaki is capable of. If a Curse Spirit of Semi-Grade 1 or above is included their technique is "extracted". What this means is if "the brain" absorbed Jogo for example, it could then use Uzumaki which exterminates Jogo as he is being used up to power the cursed energy attack, but lets "the brain" use Jogo's fire cursed technique.
Then why the hell did he use Mahito on Miwa? Double stupid.

basically he has to expend all curses on that move to unlock the cursed technique/s of any high rank curses, so the longer he waits to use uzumaki, the more actually useful summons it costs to use it whenever he does choose to extract those techniques for himself. he figures he's getting out of here tonight no matter what he does so he might as well spend the whole stock now so he's got idle transfiguration and then is free to start collecting curses to summon again

If you remember, in episode 1, Itadori's grandpa wanted to tell Itadori about his parents but Itadori said he did not care.
Also if you recall, I believe one of you asked in one of the first episodes why Itadori is so strong and that there better be a reason behind it.
Uraume and Geto are allies, despite Sukuna killing Jogo. The Disaster Curses were set up for a fall.

Basically a man named Kamo Noritoshi found a woman which had an unusual ability to give birth to curses.
He made the women give birth to the death paintings with a cursed spirit, and mixed his blood along with it which got him the title of the 'vilest sorcerer in history'.
It is the exact same guy inhabiting Geto right now.
So it all connects.

Speaking of being weird around children, Mei Mei. Nothing to really say here. I get it. Gege wanted to portray that Nanami was an honest sorcerer and couldn't achieve his dream but someone coldhearted, cruel and disgusting like her could. But boy is it still weird. Grooming your underage brother is not a good look. Delving more into the Mahito scene, if you remember, there was a really odd scene a few episodes ago where Mahito just stared at fake Geto after what happened with the Prison Realm and everyone announced their plans. This imposter planned everything out. From Gojo's capture to having Sukuna as a backup plan to the exact date that the plan would be executed. And yet, after the plan was done, he suddenly became a lot less specific and basically went, "Uh, do whatever you want." Someone who planned things out that meticulously suddenly just improvising was odd. His words suddenly seemed less true. And that's why Mahito tried to touch him first. He was born from humans. And one thing he knows extremely well is just how quickly they are to betray those closest to them.

2. When Kamo was talking about supreme arts and Uzumaki, keep in mind what he said about extracting the cursed techniques of curses used in Uzumaki. Keep that in mind, itll be important next episode.
3. Yuji has lived a normal life for the most part, but we dont know anything about his life and lets be real, no one's as strong as Yuji naturally lol

Unlike others, I didn't find the Yuji hunter scene, last episode, quite as satisfying, but Mahito being turned into Geto's plaything, now that *was* satisfying. Made my chest flutter a bit.
I think the reason for that has something to do with how conditions in MAPPA have been going during the airing of this season. That would also explain why a lot of scenes this season weren't as fleshed out as they were earlier in the season, as well as in season 1.
But I'm not picky, because we're at least lucky enough to even see this greatness be animated and I sure as hell couldn't do half as good a job as every animator on the MAPPA team 🗣️
Uzamaki explanation:
Normally when geto consumes a cursed spirit, its like a pokemon and his body is the pokeball. He can just bring out the curse and force it to do excatly what he wants. Each individual curse he has inside of him can be turned into a Uzumaki. (uzamaki = big energy blast) If geto uses a weak curse then that weak curse is destroyed entirely. But if geto uses a strong curse that has a cursed technique (like mahito), then the cursed technique is extracted, meaning even though mahito is destroyed, geto can still use idle transfiguration.
The Yuta tease was crazy..... i really though it was him.. I yelled and everything.
Oh btw, now that you know Uraume has an ice cursed technique. An authors note said that Sukuna loved her technique for storing food lmao.
Cause Uraume was Sukunas personal cook back in the day. Apparently his favorite dish was her monkey brain soup.
She made him all sorts of messed up dishes, including humans too and used her ice technique to store the meat and keep it fresh.

We only know that her gender isn't confirmed but Uraume herself never made any statement about her gender identity lmao.
So since Uraume didn't feel the need to correct me, I will use what I believe is visually fitting. She looks like a woman imo, I don't know what the people in JJK are talking about saying she looks androgynous, to me she just looks female.
As soon as her identity becomes known, I will use the correct pronoun. But for now, we have no idea what he/she/they identify as, they all have equal chances of being correct.
But given JJK is JJK, let's be honest, the correct answer is that Uraume does not give a shit at all because she isn't from a time where that would be enough to hurt her.
If it's a person she interacts with regularly, she would simply correct them and if it was someone insignificant to her, she would just ignore whatever they say anyways and not care what pronoun they used.

Uzumaki combines cursed spirits to release destructive power. The curses used for Uzumaki can't be used again, so what Not geto was saying, was that using it only really makes sense for lower grade (replaceable and not really important) curses as it removes the advantage of curse manipulation: different potent abilities. However, he discovered that the usefulness of the Uzumaki technique comes to light when used on semi grade 1 and above, because then the technique of the cursed spirit is extracted and can be used by the user of curse manipulation.

He used idle transfiguration to bring dozens of sorcerers from the past back to life and turn regular people into sorcerers to fight in the "culling game" he set up. Megumi's sister is one of the people he cursed and it didn't end well for her.

uraume has been around, they've been seen in season one inside dagon's domain with the other disaster curses and pseudo-geto. also they're related to sukuna (not as family or lineage), and he ordered them to continue some preparations; makes sense they would be working with pseudo-geto.
another things is don't get mad about yuta not being here yet, the shibuya incident takes place in approximately five hours and for all we know, he might be traveling back. no way in hell he could've made it in time to help out our guys 😂

Geto explained that the thing that made him reconsider maximum uzumaki was the secondary effect it had when used on semi-grade 1 curses and above. He says their technique is '"extracted".
I have been counting down the hours to see their reaction to this!
So what Geto said in the episode was that Uzumaki didn’t appeal to him until he realized that using up a Grade 1 curse or higher extracts their technique. So the point of burning Mahito immediately was to extract his idle transfiguration (which is still a crazy move but yeah)
The Mei Mei scene is exactly like /that/. She's a character foil to Nanami. Where Nanami believes in protecting the youth bc he knows jujutsu world is not a place for children no matter how strong they are. He saw it first hand with his "generation" how exploited they were. "I am an adult you are a child, I have a duty to prioritize your life over my own." Whereas Mei Mei will do anything for self gain. Including exploiting ang grooming her own brother.
That scene wasn't a gag like most anime/manga. It served a purpose. To remind the audience that jujutsu society is flawed (it's the underlying thing in s1 then got highlighted on s2).
you guys are awesome. in case you didnt know (i think yall dont), kusakabe was the one who deflected the uzumaki with shadow style. its a type of simple domain, it was seen in todo/yuji vs mahito, and it stops cursed techniques and is a good parry for cursed techniques. kusakabe is basically one of the shadow style masters, unlike that fraud miwa

Tsukumo Yuki is a special grade sorcerer, like Gojo, Geto and Yuta.
Fake Geto can transfer bodies and has been Kamo Noritoshi in the past thus he's at least 150 years old.
Since Kamo experimented on the woman whom birthed the Death Paintings via impregnating and adding Kamo DNA he's technically their father.
If Choso is Yuji's brother it doesn't necessarily mean Yuji's a death painting or related to Kamo. In fact Yuji can't really be a Death Painting due to his ancestry and what we know about the Death Paintings.
So that leaves one option. Yuji must be related to Fake Geto in some way that he's unaware of.

I don't if it's just me, but in today's episode, kusakabes voice was similar to how Sukunas voice actor does it.
it's the same voice actor as urahara from bleach and both urahara's and sukuna's voices have this kind of nice ring to it. like the way they end sentences with this dragged out amusement.

Couple things I understood in the episode:
Supreme art is right below domain expansion. For example, gojo’s purple
Uzumaki: while I can’t say for certain(haven’t read the manga), he says using a special grade curse in uzumaki allows you to “extract” their technique. So he may have idle transfiguration now!
Choso’s explanation seems like “geto” impregnated his mom. He’s a cursed spirit using a body, which is the whole 3 parents thing. Yuji may also have this 3 parent situation going on, because unlike todo’s delusion this one has a solid basis in choso’s explanation

And yuta is in Africa With the black Dude that Fought Gojo In Movie 0
Supreme art is just the second hardest jujutsu technique other than domain expansions. When geto explains uzumaki, he says at first he thought it was bad because it consumes curses and fires them out, making them unusable again, but then he realized that it extracted the technique meaning he gains the cursed technique of the curse that’s used in uzumaki.

that's why real geto is the least strong special grade out of the 4, never reached his full potential
geto did know about his cursed technique and all its strenghts tho. Only think kamo knows that geto doesnt is the result of the uzumaki. geto couldve did all that kamo just did in this episode

Kusakabe deserves some RESPECT. He blocked Getos ultimate offensive technique POINT BLANK and came out almost unscathed. And everyone behind him was untouched.
That is god damn CRAZY. Kusakabe might not want to fight strong enemies, he might be scared, but god damn his defense is amazing and he comes through when needed.

Kusakabe is a master swordsman in the New Shadow Style, according to Mei Mei, Nanami and Gojo he's regarded as the only sorcerer of his grade (the strongest grade 1 sorcerer) to make that rank without an innate technique.

There was this theory, that Ryomen Sukuna, was the accumulated "outcome" of a Culling Game back in the Heian Era: also one of KENJAKU'S little test subjects - possibly his greatest design (offspring with Tengen).
This era was his perfect time: with the Six Eyes (Gojo) dead and the Ten Shadows absorbed, Kenjaku's plan might pretty much work. With the current Culling Game (MANGA), he will have the needed cursed energy to back up his plan .... which was to swap bodies with Yuuji (who has the capacity to "contain" his brother, Sukuna).
IS Kenjaku's end game is to swap bodies with Yuuji, and ultimately control Sukuna and his unlimited cursed energy, using the Culling Game?

They changed a little in the anime - here, ui ui seems to ba ashamed that he's sharing a bed with his sister. In the manga, he was also shy but he seems to be enjoying it more 😂

This was explained in season 1 when Chosos brothers fought Yuji and Nobara.
That man, Kamo Noritoshi, mixed his blood into the fertiflized egg using blood manipulation. So his parents that did the deed are the woman and the cursed spirit and he mixed his blood into their bodies so Choso carries his blood and genes as well.
You only know so far that it was for an experiment, but not to what end, because he ended up aborting them all and they were sealed away for 150 years as the remains of fetuses.
And no that wouldn't necessarily make Yuji a Kamo. The guy can hop to whatever body, so if he really is Yujis parent, it might've been someone from any clan or it might've even been just some ordinary person.
What "Geto" was saying about Uzumaki is that at first he thought it could only be used to combine curses and shoot them in a beam, which is disappointing. However it has another use, if the curse is Semi Grade 1 or higher, you can use Uzumaki to actually use their cursed technique yourself without summoning them. Which is far better since the curse can get destroyed if you just summon it especially if it has Grade 1 stats or smth but has a really good cursed technique, using it yourself is more viable

Seeing an Ice-user like Uraume pop up in JJK is actually quite new, since everything has been "burn this, melt that" the entire end half of this season.
Seeing someone this strong show up like they're Toshiro or Todoroki is very diverse
Basically when Geto is taking about maximum uzumaki he was talking about how he didn’t see the use in it until now because he looses the number’s advantage of the army and the diversity advantage of all the different spirits. But he soon realized that uzumaki them comes with the ability to shoot a strong burst of energy from the cursed spirit in this case mahito and extract the cursed technique for his own use whenever. Basically allowing him to have the one technique in the series that can gain techniques. Meaning without spoiling what happens next he can still use idle transfiguration whenever but can no longer summon Mahito.
"Maximum technique" is basically a chant for when you use a technique with maximum output
Like when Gojo uses Blue he can make 2 things attract or the likes, but when he uses Maximum technique: Blue, he conjures that huge ball he uses against Toji that attracts everything around it
It's basically an extension of a cursed technique
no maximum output and maximum technique are two different things
gojo didn't do a maximum technique, he just maxed out his blue technique. Maximum or in the anime they call it supreme art, is like an extension of your ct to the highest degree but weaker than a domain, which is obviously the pinnacle of a ct
Okay so now that we know that Yuji and Choso are blood related brothers in some way, the only thing that makes sense is that this guy with forehead scar is Yuji's Father and did something similar with him just like he did to create the other blood paintings like Choso.
I saw some people theorising that Yuji was "created" with the purpose of him becoming Sukuna's vessel however there's a huge hole to that theory, it's the fact that Yuji ate the finger out of his own will nobody forced him to do it, the only way that theory makes sense is if "brain guy" was going to feed Yuji the fingers at some point but Yuji ended up doing so himself by accident but even that doesn't make sense because as brain guy said earlier Sukuna was just a plan B for defeating Gojo, so why would he create a cage for Sukuna istead of just having him reincarnated on anybody else???

"GETO" is Itadori's mother and yes, he created Him for the exact purpose of becoming Sukuna's vessel. All of these are explained in detail in the manga.

Whoever directed the music, fucking COOKED. This EP literally made JJK peak all over again. It’s crazy how we only had like certain scenes where the animation was weird but MAPPA cooked S2. I take this animation Over S1.
Can we talk about Choso being the bestest boi ever? I love this man so much.
And trust me, in a couple years this man will become one of the most beloved characters in all of anime with certain scenes animated and voiced with a good OST.
And to add some thoughts I already had at this point in the story. I think it is perfectly possible for Choso to actually be Yujis half brother because the brain guy can swap bodies.
And Yuji is a perfect once in a million years vessel that is superhuman in all physical regards, never seemed like he was just a normal flesh and blood human. So brain guy being his parent seems reasonable tbh. We don't know Yujis parents and we DO KNOW that Yuji himself doesn't even know his parents, he always just knew his grandpa.
People just always compare the Todo and Choso situation, which is understandable because the manga used the same fake memory quote for them, but I think they are very different.
I think Todo just had delusions when he finally found someone to share his taste and we know Todo IS a nutjob.
Meanwhile Choso got delusions from his cursed technique. He was able to feel his brothers deaths when they were miles away, so having his brother almost die right in front of him, as he was able to kill Yuji, probably triggered a MUCH stronger sensation, as he said himself this episode, that being the delusions we saw. So we have some evidence that there is at least a blood connection based on his cursed technique.
Also lastly, while Todo calls him "brother", we all know Todo does not actually think Yuji is his brother. He believes Yuji is his middleschool best friend and calls him "brother" as we call friends "bro".
I loved this revelation because literally ever since I first saw season 1 I was so hyped for Chosos character, as I am a protective older brohter irl, so I'm a total sucker for that type of character, so when Yuji and Nobara killed his brothers I was already hyped for him as a revenge seeking older brother on the bad guys side hunting the killer which is one of the "good guys" in the show was such a cool concept.
Normally a good guy would be given that role, as Choso looking for revenge on the killer of his brothers makes him soooo sympathetic immediately. What kind of monster would not be able to dote for him a bit to beat Yuji you know? Or at least understand him being justified.
And then it happens that Yuji and him share a blood connection and he may yet have a brother to protect. Beautiful.
