  • Thanks for stopping by.
    This is a 3D Character development breakdown of a Female Portrait in CG. I'm sharing the major milestones of sculpting the head and costume design in ZBrush and retopology in Maya. Then, texture the head in MARI using Texture XYZ VFace maps, the costume in Substance Painter, and Facefrom Wrap to transform the VFace head to a new topology. We will take a look at my Arnold shaders in Maya and finally assemble it all in Nuke.
    I hope you’ll enjoy it.
    John

    How much money do you spend monthly on all of that software? :)

    • @hagy2256
      @hagy2256 5 месяцев назад +1

      Most likely pirated versions, too bad you have to pay for a subscription every month. It would be great if we could buy an annual version of the program, like in substance painter.

    its sooo amazing wish to see some others tutorials like how to use Texturing XYZ maps aphals and how to pain skin details and skin color by using Texturing xyz maps Expect VFaces Vface is soo fast and time saving but for beginners its not soo helpful to use Vfaces at the starting

    That's a really Beautiful work!
    I wonder why don't you transfer maps in Wrap4D? It's extremely easy.
    you can do it in the same graph.
    Idk what's the max resolution, you can transfer, but I've used it for 8k maps quite a few times.

    • @john.saleem
      @john.saleem  5 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you. True, you can use Wrap to fully transfer topology and textures. MARI is a personal preference for this tutorial. Some use XNormal, Houdini, or Designer to transfer. Maybe in the next tutorial, I'll show how to transfer everything in Wrap.

    For those that don't use Mari, you can also use Substance designer to transfer the Vface maps and textures.

  • @mateuscarleto8202
    @mateuscarleto8202 5 месяцев назад

    I didn't get the workflow, if you use Wrap to get the models's face shape, why do you have to model it in the first place? Doesn't the downloaded head come with properly topology and uv or do you have to model it to transfer those attributes later on?

    • @john.saleem
      @john.saleem  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, you can start sculpting from XYZ Base mesh and skip the transfer, then jump into texturing. However, If you are having fun doing concept sculpting in Dynamesh or receiving a sculpt from a client then you’ll have to transfer the topology to project the VFace maps.

  • @delko000
    @delko000 5 месяцев назад

    I dont understand the topology transfer step. Can't Mari paint directly on the original mesh you made?

    • @john.saleem
      @john.saleem  5 месяцев назад +1

      You can if you start texturing from XYZ base mesh, then you don't need to transfer.
