Becky you make all your subscribers feel like they are sitting on the other side of the island, enjoying the chit chat and laughing along with you. You have found the “sweet spot” of having your family interact, not too much - not to little. Kudos to you
What a fun memory making activity! I bet your nieces and nephews will always remember going to Aunt Becky’s and making fun gingerbread houses that Sarah and Becky spent so much time and love putting together.
I recommend if you plan to do a bulk batch again do yourself a favor and commission an Etsy shop to make cookie cutters of the various pieces you need for the gingerbread houses. That way it saves you loads of time not having to cut them each out and you support a small business.
Could you substitute the butter for margarine or something less expensive. To me, butter is so expensive especially if you're not going to eat the end product.
The best part is you two sisters spending the time together. What a lovely family you have. Blessed! Don't ever let these times slip away, this is what makes life worth living.❤
First, I am so happy you and Sarah had this time together to just be sisters! I am stunned by how much work these were--but yall pulled it off! The finished houses were SO GREAT and I also loved your mom and dad's houses.❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
You have a way of including your viewers so that we feel like we are there with you. Sarah is a great guest star as your other guests are as well. I smiled through the whole video. I hope to see a photo of the other two houses if the youngsters snapped a pic for you to share. Hope sarah and crew had a safe trip home. Your parents just beam with pride!
Nothing is better than spending time with your sister!!! You can see what a good relationship you have - it was great to watch!!! Everything turned out beautifully!!
I spent the day with my older sister (5 yrs older than me) and her husband and my parents. My sister told my father to an Oncologist appointment and they took my mother with them. My mother has Dementia. My brother in law and I made a Christmas meal. We also vacuumed the house, dusted, did all our dishes and took out trash. We had more work that we could have done, but we ran out of time. My BIL and I worked well together and my sister and I did as well. My sister and I had a lot of differences in our past, but taking care of our elderly parents has created a strong relationship. Watching the two of you working together I see a lot of time we missed out on. Cherish your parents and your siblings. They are so important in life.

It's two days after Christmas that I am getting to watch this. I loved seeing your sister in this video, and I think there is another one that she was in with you and your Mom. You know I always love seeing you and your Mom together. I wish you all lived closer so you could do these more often. Your whole family is so close and helps each other all the time.
I think you 2 did a FANTASTIC job with these gingerbread houses!!!!! You work so well together and I’m sure you had a little bit stress figuring everything out, but also shared much laughter together. I hope you do this annually…..I think it will be something you both will look forward to each year!
What a feat! WOW.... that is a lot of work, ladies! One thing I appreciate about you and your videos is that you leave in all the little mistakes that you make, and don't edit them out like most other content creators do. A lot of people are not experts, so can appreciate these bits of learning in your videos. Loved this one!
It’s the oops parts I enjoy the most. How many times I failed to do things in order and have to decide if this is a fatal error or not. I loved watching all the decisions that had to be made. That’s what my kitchen looks like. ❤
I hope Sarah's family had a safe trip back to oklahoma. Loved the videos with all you guys! I hope to see more when she is back in town. Thank you for allowing us into your home. ❤
What beautiful team work. 😍 thank you so much for bringing us into your kitchen Becky and Sarah, for being there to help out. This video is a keeper. ❤ looks like you really enjoyed each other's company. Thx again. Love it ❤
I'm really enjoying these videos with your sister. Hope this happens again when she visits home next. ❤🥰 Your Dad and Mom are so talented with those houses 🤩. You come from a very creative family. What a blessing they are to you and what a blessing you are to them❣️ 🥰Heaven made🥰
Never surrender! I love the way y'all kept going ❤ Not only will your little family members have sweet memories, you and your sister will laugh about this experience and have great memories, too. There are so many things that people can spend money on that really have no meaning. Flour, sugar and a lifetime of memories sounds like a great way to allocate resources 😊 Love you and your channel ❤
We talk about it because of the millions going without food in the world. But hey, as long as this family can make precious memories with wasted food then who gives a toss, right!? 🙄
@@mariannetuite7411 you are ridiculous! So much food is wasted by the whole country because they mismanage their pantry, don’t feel like eating leftovers or food regulations. Judging one family creating memories with resources they’ve worked for is highly hypocritical.
@mariannetuite7411 how much do you donate? Of course it's their fault so much food is wasted, and not the grocery stores dumping tons of food everyday. Get over yourself.
I just recently ( finally) bought myself a Bosch. Used it to bake all the cookies for christmas. I found the best way for heavy doughs like this is to use the whisk for the eggs, butter and sugar, and then switch to the dough-hooks for the flour and the rest. Works great.
Where do I start…. Becky, watching this day brought back so many memories when I was growing up. What a beautiful day with your sister! Special memories. I love watching you & Sarah together. It’s so great seeing your Mom & Dad making their gingerbread house together & getting to enjoy doing this with their grands! A lot of work & enjoyment in this video but so worth it! I truly enjoyed watching!! Wishing you all a very happy & blessed New Year! 🌟
I love you guys i am currently a shut in because of health. your channel brings me so much normalcy and ideas when im not hungry and your delivery food sparks my appetite. GOD BLESS YOU
That looks like so much fun !! I really enjoyed watching this and how sweet of your Mom to bring things for a taco bar !!! The houses turned out great and so are the ginger bread men !! xx
Awh Becky I love this !! You Sarah did a fantastic job putting those houses together. What great fun the kids must have had. You have a beautiful family ❤❤❤
I think you and your sister did an amazing job! You work so well together. I love your dads gingerbread house especially. So nice of your mom to provide the dinner. Everything looks amazing. I'm sure you all had a wonderful time.
The houses turned out adorable. Honestly Becky and Sarah, those who are on this channel to tell you how and what you do wrong by their eyes need to start their own channels. It's a lot of ingredients for a huge batch of Gingerbread and so what of it? All of them were treated with love! I personally just enjoyed watching and learning how to make it for my Grandchildren. Y'all focus on those of us who love and enjoy you sharing some of your time with us. I dont feel my job as a subscriber is to point out negativity. There's enough of it in this world. So enjoy your Holiday's!!❤
What a grand time! I love seeing your family cherish their time together. I miss those cherished moments with my sister. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
Aww what a lovely day for you all to share! Your parents are very blessed and we appreciate them for raising such wonderful children! Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and new year!
I have a Bosch and I’ve had one for 40 years or more. One thing I learned was that if you’re making cookie dough, just remember it is a dough and you should use the dough hook. It’s always worked for me and I haven’t had to buy another accessory.
We make gingerbread houses every year from scratch but never these many. I had no idea there were other types of houses you can make (living in Europe). I'm impressed with you two taking on this challenge so beautifully. Thanks for taking us along as always, they turned out great! ❤💃
Every year our family decorates gingerbread houses. We drink hot chocolate, watch Christmas movies and eat finger food and grandpa Ted’s fudge. We don’t throw a big Christmas party or do elaborate gifts, we decorate gingerbread houses as a family and it’s wonderful! At the end of the season we put our houses up on blocks for our chickens to enjoy!
I have enjoyed this whole series of videos featuring Sarah, and of course your Mom. Your holiday shop and prep videos with your mom are always one of my favorites on your channel, and the addition of your sister this time was an added bonus. Three sets of hands definitely helps to get the kitchen prep-work done. Happy New Year to everyone in the extended Acre Homestead Family!
When the cookies get to point of adding flour, the dough hook attachment would work in the Bosch. Just trade out. Love watching you and love it when you two laugh together!! ❤
Years and years ago, Martha Stewart Magazine published a pattern for gingerbread lanterns. They were so fun to make and I put candles in them and actually lit them. They were beautiful. They were just decorated to look like snow. I have the pattern somewhere still and I might try to make some next year. If you could find a pattern, you would just love making these, Becky.
You both work remarkably well together - The flow and banter chat was really great to watch! Would enjoy seeing you both again on a big cooking day. Thanks
I'm going to miss Sarah now that she's back home in OK. The two of you together are so much fun to watch. You remind me of my three daughters when they work on projects together or just spend time together.
I use a recipe for my gingerbread houses that calls for no eggs! It is so sturdy. I've been doing houses every year for 7 years. They get a little bigger and more elaborate every year.
Wow, that was a heck of a lot of work but what an amazing gift for your whole family to be able to do this together as a group. Never take those days for granted. And I know you guys don’t. the gingerbread houses came out very cute.. Your parents are very creative. We will miss seeing Sarah on the channel, but it has been wonderful having you guys together as a family.
I absolutely love seeing you work together with your family. I miss all of my family so, so much. We all live in different parts of the country. Everyone did a fantastic job on their gingerbread houses & men.😊 Wish you All a very happy & prosperous New Year! Tell your Dad thank you for the Christmas blessings, and I say the same thing back to your entire family. ☃️🎄😊
I used to sell Bosch mixers. :) In addition to the cookie paddles there is also a Bowl scraper attachment that goes on the mixer bar and scraps your bowl as it goes around. I think you should have used the whisk attachment for creaming the butter and sugar and then used the bread hook for adding all the sugar.
I have loved all the videos with your sister lately. And of course love when your mom is in them too. You have a great family and hope you have a great New Year!!
Love that your sister could be in the kitchen with you! Also your mom and dad supporting you with dinner after your long time in the kitchen. I had tried a recipe for spiced ginger cookies and chilled the dough before I could roll into balls. Next time, I will add more flour because they were flat as a pancake but delicious.
It was fun to watch you and your sister working together on that project! You might want to laminate your templates. It would allow you to wash them and reuse them from year to year.
I recently saw a tip on a cookie decorating page. If you want nice clean sharp edges on your cookies, and they puffed too much in oven, you can “sand” the edges smooth with your microplane.
Today is 12/26/24 and like usual I get the blahs the day after Christmas! I haven’t gotten out of my pajamas! But I watched your Gingerbread House video and it brought back great memories of my kids and grandkids being little! We have a 3 year old granddaughter that we haven’t attempted to do Gingerbread house with yet , maybe next year. Any way I miss those days with the kids being little and everything hectic, enjoy this time! I appreciate you and your videos
It’s so special spending time with your sister. You both work so well together! I wish she lived closer to you so she can be a regular guest in your kitchen. She is a sweetie. What a blessing to have such a beautiful family! Thanks for allowing us in your kitchen. I pray you had a blessed Christmas and that you have a joy-filled New Year. Blessings🙏
You can make yours that way on your channel. Becky chose to make HERS this way on HER channel! Good grief! Let her have some fun making memories for the children in her family - plus Mom and Dad! 😊
@@Eph1-4 Not getting ready for battle. I just don't understand the constant criticism of content providers, that's all. WE watch because of the choices she makes. If she did things exactly the way we do them (or would do them if we were doing the project) then it wouldn't be fun at all! 🤷🏼♀️
@ again, it isn’t a criticism. Someone contributing an idea and trying to be helpful to the chat as a whole is not in need of your correction, something you could consider before your response to the next person who is just sharing ideas and hoping to be helpful is to lecture them on how poorly they are behaving.
I have used Meringue Powder to make a large batch of Royal icing, no worries about what to do with the egg yokes. I'm glade you could do this with your sister.
This was a fun video. Seeing all the finished houses done was so nice. It brings me back to happier days. Thank you. Also liked seeing your sister and your mom and dad. Blessings to you and yours. ❤❤❤
Me, too. My immediate family is all in Heaven. No kids, no husband, unfortunately. I have wonderful memories of sharing these holidays with family, doing the Christmas shopping with my sister, the Christmas sugar cookies with my Mom. I did a photo shoot one year Mom and I did the sugar cookies. Those are treasured photographs. 🥰
What a fun time. The kids must have had a blast. Your dad’s house was very creative and so was mom’s. I made two gingerbread houses for my great grandsons. I’m going to start a new tradition with the boys. Thank you Becky and Sara.
Im glad you figured the math cause i was thinking, its not gonna happen😂 I like the idea of having cookie cutters made for bulk batches. Another tip is when batch cutting, just use a ruler dedicated for the kitchen. Its much easier to make a long cut, then measure along and cut the width, finishing with another long cut & just lifting off the excess.
Dear Lord. All I can say is your patience is wayyyy more than what I have! I stopped this video with the 1st mishap and came back two days later to watch... my anxiety is off the Richter scale. There is still 35 minutes left. 😮
How fun! Thank you for doing this. I will do this next year for my granddaughters and get the adults involved as well. I will probably complain making the gingerbread but the memories will be worth it.
I’ve seen where people have glued the houses together since they are not going to be eating them. Then decorate with no fear of houses falling apart. Being a mom of 5 who have made gingerbread houses with my younger children- they have a tendency to be a little rough with the houses & we would have to start over. So I think it’s a good idea
This was a great way to enjoy time together as a family doing something everyone enjoyed.. Thanks Becky and Family for bringing us along. God Bless from Western Kentucky.
Salt dough with brown food coloring mix, and spice if the smell is wanted. It's non toxic so kids safe, unless allergic to flour. Then splurge on the candy and decorating accessories. The dough is stronger and doesn't spread in the oven and one can do more detail on the dough before the bake/drying, as well as shingles for roof or doors or whatever the imagination and creativity goes. Just a suggestion. We did ornaments for holidays with kids at school, many years ago. I made medium sized center pieces, christmas trees, to look like ginger bread for our family table and a gift for a neighbor. The kids ate the candy off those, perfectly good, dough stayed on the trees and it's non toxic, just salty.
@tjlj4536 flour, salt and water. I don't rember exact measures it was quite a few years ago. But I know if you go to Google put in the search "Salt dough" + (salt + flour + water) + (recipe) it will find one or a dozen more. Maybe even a video back here on you tube. I hope you have a Happy Holiday Season!
I loved watching you and your sister working together in the kitchen. Brought back so many memories of Christmas past. I have tried to pass down many family traditions I learned from my mom. Thanks for letting me join you in the kitchen. Wishing you a Merry Christmas
Wow, you girls certainly made a lot of work for yourselves, much to our delight. Most of us would quake at making one gingerbread house let alone 11! It is lovely to see you both working together as you get on so well. I bet you didn't think you were making a comedy baking show - I laughed so much. The Bosch wouldn't work, ingredients were only remembered once the cookie dough had been made, who knew molasses came in different shades but, it all worked out well in the end as the houses were all brilliant especially the two your parents decorated. So, thanks for the show girls and Sarah, you will be missed by Becky and us, when you go back to OK.
I have to tell you that I'm smiling with a little tear seeing your Mom & Dad enjoying themselves decorating and showing off their gingerbread houses!

That's a great idea. Also, if you are not eating the gingerbread, you can omit the baking powder/soda and they won't spread as much.
That's brilliant. I didn't even know you could do that!
Could you substitute the butter for margarine or something less expensive. To me, butter is so expensive especially if you're not going to eat the end product.

I love watching the two of you, enjoy your "Sisterhood" Siblings are the best, miss my brother and the good times we had.
Blessings🙏
Becky and Sarah (and Emily) y’all are so blessed to have awesome sisters. I’ve always wanted one.
What jobs the kids and your Dad and Mom did! Very talented family! Memories for the children❤!
Great way to create memories.
And so lovely that your mom made dinner for all. Love a taco bar.
Great team work Becky & Sarah!!! What memories you made for your kiddos. Loved watching you guys!!
I would express, too, I think Becky has integrity in everything; she doesn't want to miss beat
If you aren’t going to eat the houses you can save a lot on ingredients by just using a low ingredient stiff dough and adding spices for smell.
I wonder if a salt dough would work
You can make yours that way on your channel. Becky chose to make HERS this way on HER channel! Good grief! Let her have some fun making memories for the children in her family - plus Mom and Dad! 😊
@@Lucinda_Jackson making a suggestion for everyone to be helpful, no need to get ready for battle🙂

Not getting ready for battle.
@acrehomestead -- your sister's laugh makes me happy, and now I want to be her friend!! You two are a great combo!! Cheers!!
Hello Becky and Sarah! You two together are a hoot!
Terrific job with those ginger bread houses ladies. Such a wonderful Christmas memory for one & all.
💗🎄😊🇨🇦
What a fun time. The kids must have had a blast. Your dad’s house was very creative and so was mom’s. I made two gingerbread houses for my great grandsons. I’m going to start a new tradition with the boys. Thank you Becky and Sara.
Im glad you figured the math cause i was thinking, its not gonna happen😂
I like the idea of having cookie cutters made for bulk batches. Another tip is when batch cutting, just use a ruler dedicated for the kitchen. Its much easier to make a long cut, then measure along and cut the width, finishing with another long cut & just lifting off the excess.
Hi Sarah. Nice to see you both again. Such a sweet suprise
The houses look amazing. I do have one suggestion for decorating the roof. If you get golden grams they make perfect shingles
What wonderful memories you and Sarah will have as life goes on❤. Great job ladies 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So enjoyed this - I think my grandchildren would love to do this next Christmas. Thank you Becky and Sarah
This was a great way to enjoy time together as a family doing something everyone enjoyed.. Thanks Becky and Family for bringing us along. God Bless from Western Kentucky.
♥️🫶♥️
Hello friends! Drinking my ☕️ while watching Becky! What a fun day!
Masha’Allah what an amazing family tradition! We dont celebrate Christmas but my kids would love that. Very sweet family you have 🤍
Thanks for including us in your family time .
That sounds like a better idea. Do you happen to remember your recipe??
@tjlj4536 flour, salt and water. I don't rember exact measures it was quite a few years ago. But I know if you go to Google put in the search "Salt dough" + (salt + flour + water) + (recipe) it will find one or a dozen more. Maybe even a video back here on you tube. I hope you have a Happy Holiday Season!
I loved watching you and your sister working together in the kitchen. Brought back so many memories of Christmas past. I have tried to pass down many family traditions
I learned from my mom. Thanks for letting me join you in the kitchen. Wishing you a Merry Christmas
Love the idea. Love the results. Making memories. You will talk about this in the future. What a blessing!
Reminiscent of Lucy and Ethyl in a candy factory! 🤣
