Frankenstein has been one of my favourite books for 10 years now, I read it in College (uk) and LOVED the beautiful poetic language. I made my boyfriend (now husband) read it and my mum xD it is wonderful! This is my favourite quote - "Like one who, on a lonely road, Doth walk in fear and dread, And, having once turned round, walks on, And turns no more his head; Because he knows a frightful fiend Doth close behind him tread"

My sophomore year language arts teacher was obsessed with Bradbury so he used a lot of his work for his curriculum. I now think of that teacher anytime someone mentions Bradbury. Also, my mom made me read The Secret Garden when I was younger and I loved it. That copy is stunning! ❤

I'm so glad you picked up The Secret Garden! It was one of my all-time favourite books as a child and it's still my comfort book now. Just the way nature and animals are described in it is so magical and the character arcs and developments are also so well written.
Reading The Secret Garden for the first time was one of my most happy memories from childhood. It will always be special to me, which I guess explains why I'm compelled to buy every cover design I stumble upon! ☺️💕

Yes! I LOVE Susan Branch’s books and “Autumn” is definitely a favorite!! 🍂🍁🍂 Have you read her trilogy of memoirs? They are fabulous!! ❤️❤️❤️
And I wasn't disappointed 😊. I got Rebecca as a Scripture exam reward in 1976..Still one of my favourites.
Have you read: The storm keepers Island by Catherine Doyle? It's a great book. I have seen you read sooo many books it's hard to keep up..lol. ☺

@@MorganLong No, no, Morgan. Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 version of Rebecca is one of the greatest romance/mystery films ever made. It's a marvel of filmmaking skill and Joan Fontaine's performance alone is amazing. No other version of the story has come close. And you should easily be able to find it online.

My best friend and I read Rebecca and Secret Garden this year. Both were outstanding. We are reading through a list of the top 100 books written.

I read The Secret Garden and The little Princess when I was about 11 I think, 2 of my favorite books ever, as well as the Little House on the Prairie books. You make me want to read them again, and all these new books you find, love to cozy up with an empty evening, cozy blanket, warm drink, and a good book!

Aw, thanks for the lovely video Morgan! I'm catching up on some of your Fall videos, and this was so sweet. I really like to visit bookstores too, and especially ones that have a used book collection! I made myself some earl grey tea while watching, and I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about some of the books you picked up. I also didn't know that Ray Bradbury had written so much more than just Fahrenheit 451, that book was so ever-present in my school days haha. Maybe I'll get to visit Powell's one day, it looks cool! I've been to The Strand in New York before, so I recommend that new/used bookstore to anyone in the area :)
It's always a special treat to get to wander Powell's with you. I've read most of the books you purchased but I haven't even heard of The Little Witches Book of Spells! It looks so sweet, I'm going to have to get a copy for my own witchy book collection. Thank you. (P.S. I can't BELIEVE you haven't seen the movie Practical Magic. *feels faint*)

Drinking chocolatey chai while I watch today! And I grew up with my parents reading Strega Nona to me too. They even somehow managed to get a copy signed by Tomie dePaola for little baby me, which I still have :') that story was definitely formative to my love of pasta haha! And I think you will just love The Secret Garden, it's magical, and that copy is beautiful. I am going to the library today where The Graveyard Book is waiting for me on hold :) very excited to have some fall reading.
I’ve been reading Strega Nona to my students for years. I teach first grade. Mary Steenburgen also does a wonderful reading of it on StorylineOnline website. Tomis DePaola is my all-time favorite children’s illustrator and I actually got to meet him at a reading conference many years ago. It was such a thrill! 😊❤️📚

Shameless plug, but The Princess and The Squire by Lee Zephyr on amazon and audible is always a nice option. It's my first indie author self publish. It's a fantasy adventure/romance novel. I'd love for you to check it out sometime. I'd also recommend Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. It is a very magical whimsical Autumnal read. Love the videos and positivity that you share!
